Just a great day. We went to Sunday School 37, and church 32. Darcy and Brent was over. She lives at Utica now. We went for ride to Gouverneur and Oxbow. No one home at Debby’s. Got a sub at Pizzeria for supper. Brain Salisbury family in church for first time.

Merrill went to library to have insurance and lawyer letter copied. He got a library card and 2 books on chain saws and small engines. Debby here on way home from work. She has 1987 dark blue GMC pick up.

Sent insurance claims. Wrote Vern’s and sent them lawyer’s letter. Washed clothes. Merrill put on storm windows. Jim ashley had stroke. They took him to hospital at 4 AM.

I talked with Kathy. Jim very bad. He’s on life support. Wrote Bea Gehm. Sent checks to EPIC, cable, and electric. Jim Ashley, 64 died around 5 PM. Cheryl called at 9. I called Juanita.

Bea Gehm’s birthday. UMW at Vi’s. 11 there. We went to smorgasbord supper at Evans Mills. We went over to Lylas awhile. Got word Aunt Maude’s’ sister, Carrie, died September 19th. Raining in evening.

Rally Day at Sunday School. We went to Sunday School. 43 there. and church 29. We took flowers to church for Cheryl. We moved plants off front porch.

Down to 28° over night. Columbus Day holiday. No school or mail. Times goes. I washed clothes. Merrill put wood down cellar. It is full. Cleaned rest of garden. Jim and kids at Portaferry today.

Administrative Council, 11 there. Much discussion about church affairs. After 10 when we got home. Washed Merrill’s work clothes. Merrill raked leaves.

Installation at Rebekah’s. I made brownies for lodge. About 30 there. Diane NG, Marie S. VG, I’m chaplain again. Jim and Sue here in PM. Taking fall pictures of leaves etc. Vote passed to build another school at Calcium.

We went for groceries in AM. Steve called in PM. Steve came for supper on way to Potsdam to meeting. Came back and spent night. Chomsun left for Korea for 3 months. Cha called in evening.

Sammy started coming before and after school. He misses his mother. Steve went to Potsdam again at 8 AM. Stopped back by about 4 on way home. Merrill and Bob Boscheck put out junk. Stock market fell 190 points.

We went to Sunday School 48, and church 33. District Superintendent, McClune present. Went to PPR meeting with DS McClune at 1 PM in parsonage. 8 present. Shari came for Rosie.

Cloudy and raining. Merrill went to Mills for saw but no one home. Terry Solan called. Terrible earthquake in California. 6.9 on scale. San Francisco hit hard, 67 dead.

Aunt Maude’s 84th birthday. Still cold. We went for groceries. Cha came over after Sammy. Called Mr. Jackson. Made appointment for Tuesday the 24th at 3:30. Wrote Vern’s.

Dr. Siegel 1 PM. Put me on one blood pressure pill a day. Blood pressure 138/80. Weight 161. Car wouldn’t start at Nickols but guy from garage got it started. Raining hard all day.

Arthur and Lottie Haggerty Hanson married 75 years ago today at Philadelphia, Beautiful home wedding on Coolidge Farm. Cha and boys here. Paid me $9.00. Gave us mustard. I washed clothes. Cloudy day.

Cold wind and cloudy. We went to Sunday School 49, and church 64. Laity service. Lots of folks had part. Sina had Sermon and sang. All just great.

Mr. Jackson at 3:30. Vern and Jim there also. Decided to look into things to foreclose. Ken couldn’t get chain saw going. Didn’t charge for it. Sent Steve card, note, and $5.00. Sammy not here today.

Steve’s 25th birthday. He has a nice wife, good job (BACCA), and new home (Brewerton). Not bad for 25 years old. We washed windows inside and out. Even storms. Saw Barn can’t fix chain saw, worn out. Pauline and Garmon here to spend the day. Garmon not good.
