Mark Draper gets home from West Germany. He’s been there 5 weeks with German class. Kyle here. Went home at 2:30. Debby had house closing. We went for groceries in late PM.

Still very hot and humid. Some showers. Rained hard in evening and off and on all night. Stephanie was over in evening. Brought mail left in their box.

We went to church, 15 there. Cecil Steele of Spraqueville preached. Jim, Jolie, Jill, and Sue here for supper. Joel didn’t come. Gave them cukes and green beans.

Much cooler. Beulah Macklin’s 66th birthday. Debbie stopped in on way home from work.

Secret space launch this morning. Down to 47° over night. Washed clothes. Merrill picked cukes and green beans to take to Vern’s.

Go to Vern and June. Stopped at Nickols on way. Had lunch and supper at Vern’s. We went to Bea’s and to see Don in nursing home in PM. Steve and Kathy in Boston. Dan working.

We left for home at 11:30. Had lunch with Brenda and Bill. No one home at Don’s. Stopped at Roy’s. Elgin called in evening. He is coming over on Saturday. Helen Tooley called in evening.

I called several about lunch at Mills with Catherine. Got stuff ready for tomorrow. Got groceries in AM. Washed clothes.

Elgin and Carmi here for dinner. We went out to mall in PM. They left about 4:30. Had nice visit. Jim called in evening. He is working on his back porch.

We went to church, 24 out. Catherine preached. Evans Mills had luncheon for her after church. Philadelphia invited. Merrill and I went. Also Marion S. Called Jim. also L McClune. Vern and June to spend night on way to Vermont. New church chimney finished.

Vern and June left about 8 AM for Vermont for 4 days. We went to Mills. Stopped at Leah’s new apartment. Very nice. Went to bank and cashed in certificate. Warm in 80’s.

Washed clothes. Talked with Nancy and Rosie about PPR meeting Sunday at Mills. Sent check for car insurance, fire insurance, telephone and Reader’s Digest subscriptions. Jim and Sue here in PM. Ken called.

Ken got here about 4 PM with his new GMC truck (1986). Debbie here on way home. Ken and Merrill went to beef cattle meet at Gouverneur in evening. Stopped to see Debbie’s’ new house.

Ken left about 2 PM. He went over to Art and Doris from here. I called her about PPR meeting. Colder today. Sunny. Got card from Vern from Vermont.

We went for groceries in AM. Warmer today. Sunny.

Hot, 90°. Washed. We went for ride by rodeo on Les Hall’s farm. Came back by Coolidge Road. Rained hard in evening.

We went to church, 22 out. DS McClune and Joyce in charge. We had PPR meeting at Mills after church. Raining out and warm. Jim, Walt, and Mike came to move van. Wheel on Jim’s truck broken so he had to call wrecker.

Cloudy and windy. Merrill took cucumbers to Horton’s. They are still haying. Merrill ordered load of wood from Ralph Zehr of Crogan, $270.

Steve and Kathy’s 2nd anniversary. Merrill mowed lawns. I washed a few things. some rain in evening.

We went for groceries in AM. Baked monkey bread, cookies, and meat loaf. Pete Rose banned from baseball for life for betting on his team. Voyager 2 reached Neptune.

Down to 36° over night. Called for food for Blondie Hull Jordan’s funeral. Baked apple pie and baked beans for Jordan’s.

Steve and Kathy’s house warming. We didn’t go. Took food to Jordan’s. Washed clothes. Merrill worked at wood.

Vern and June’s 29th anniversary. We went to church. Only 16 there. New chimney is all finished. Cost $4010.00.

Nice day. Merrill cut wood. I painted white touch up on sink, woodwork, bird feeder, etc.

Cloudy. Meeting at parsonage on Bar-B-Q for 150th anniversary. 9 of us there.

Thunder storm during night. We went to city for medicine. Went to see Aunt Maude. She seems good.

They black topped our road today Merrill cut wood until saw quit. Rev.Collin here in PM. Melba called in evening. Leslie has lung cancer and diabetes. He has had radiation for 4 weeks.
