Memorial Service for Eleanor at Sandy Creek UM Church at 7:30 PM. Large turn out. Went to Ken’s after. We stopped at Roy’s. He’s not feeling good. We stayed all night at Don’s.

Rained all the way home. Got home at 10:30. Merrill tired today. Jim called in evening from work.

Set clocks back 1 hour. Lila called. Aunt Maude not good. Washed clothes.

Back to standard time. We went to Sunday School 48, and church 56. Snow flurries in PM.

Halloween. Only 21 kids here this year. Aunt Maude went to Mercy Hospital for reevaluation. Merrill helped Horton’s cover ensilage pile in PM. Lila called in evening.

Planning meeting at church, 6:30. Another nice meeting 11 present. Trish Lewis there. Raining.

Bible Study, 7:30. We didn’t go. Ground white with snow this morning. Plows out. Wrote Vern’s. Sent for slacks to Blair.

UMW at Leah’s, 7:30. 11 there. Doug Mattingly spoke on his mission trip in March to Haiti. Very interesting.

PPR at Mills, 7:30, 10 there. Raised Collin’s salary to $16,350. Merrill took me to Mills. Made cookies and pie. Shower at Legion for Laurie Slate. I didn’t go to shower. Gave her check. Wrote Ken.

Warm and sunny and windy. Washed clothes. Wind blew large tree limb onto garage roof.

We went to Sunday School, 48 and church 35. Had evening service with Rev. Dick Graves speaker. Church crowded. Baptist church came. Called Jim to help get limb off garage. Jolie came with Troy Sommer. All here for supper.

Jury duty, 1:30 PM City. No one had to report today.

Election Day. We voted after lunch. Wrote Vern’s. George Bush and Dan Quail won.

Jim was on WTNY radio with homeless 17 year old boy. A good interview. Rev. Collin here on PPR business. We went to Bible Study in evening. I didn’t go to Rebekah’s.

Jury duty, 10:00 AM. Case settled out of court. To report again next Monday from Code-a-phone. Went to Nichols for eye drops. Very windy all day. Lots of damage.

We went for groceries in AM. Got 18 pound turkey. Put Frieda’s sign up outside church for Bazaar, December 3. Merrill went over to unlock church in evening. Put in some new light bulbs.

Got card from Frieda and Harry from Hawaii. Sunny but cold. Made cookies for church. Leslie’s 75th birthday. Merrill called him in evening. I called Ken. He has had shingles ever since Eleanor’s memorial. Jim called in evening from work.

We went to Sunday School 43, and church 49. Rev. Kathy in accident. Cobby Slate and Bob Boscheck in charge of Philadelphia service. Kathy okay. Canceled evening service.

Jury duty, 10:00 AM. There all day. They picked jury for rape case. Joyce got picked. Tired tonight.

Administrative Council, 9 there. Warmer today. Washed Merrill’s dress shirts. all jury excused for rest of term.

Bible Study. Sina in charge, 5 there. They are starting 2nd house at Carpenter Meadows.

Dr. Siegel, 9:15. Everything okay. Blood pressure 130/86. Jolie dating Randy’s son, Scott. They are starting 3rd house at Carpenter Meadows. Merrill had finance committee meeting. All there.

Merrill and Bill M worked on lights at church. Debby stopped by. Took our pictures.

Got birthday card and letter from Gehm’s. Cleaned laundry room. Vern called in evening. They are coming next Sunday. Washed clothes. Merrill ran cleaner.

Sunday School 50, and church 51. Raining. Family night at church. Covered dish supper at 6. Gouverneur UM Church clown acts performed for evening service. About 40 to supper and 80 to candlelight service. Great.

My 71st birthday. Snowed last night. Wrote Beulah Macklin.

Pres. John Kennedy shot 25 years ago in Dallas Texas. Debby’s 29th birthday. Grandma Haggerty’s birthday would be today if she was here.

Made rolls. Merrill went to Antwerp for church lights and bulbs. He put lights up in PM. Got Thanksgiving card from Patty. Robbins cleaned furnace.

Sunny day. Thanksgiving. Patty called. Jim and kids here.

Beautiful day. We went for groceries. Earthquake in evening at 6:46 PM. 6.4 on scale.

Made apple pie, dressing etc. for tomorrow. My arthritis bad.

Vern, June, Steve and Kathy here for dinner. Nice day together. We didn’t go to Sunday School or church. Called Shari and Gladys about refreshments for Charge Conference.

Tired today. Merrill went over town. Washed clothes. Warm but cloudy. They have started putting up another house on Carpenter Meadows.

Merrill put rest of wood down cellar. We started church prayer chain. Jerry Slate called about Peter Brady. Also Linda Weatherwax.

We went to Bible Study, 8 there. Raining hard in evening. Prayer chain: Kenny Trumble Sr. Don Cooke, 73 died.

We went for groceries in AM. Stopped at see Aunt Maude. She threw up this morning. Was in bed. UMW at church. I didn’t go. My arthritis hurting.

I baked all day, oatmeal cookies, pumpkin pies, and cinnamon rolls. Got HEAP blank. Sent it back at post office.

Church Bazaar. Merrill took stuff over to church in morning. Washed clothes.

We went to Sunday School 45, and church 41. Charge Conference in evening, 7:30. Much colder. Only 14 there and 1 guest. Rev. Kathy present. Weather bad off and on in evening. Lots of accidents south of us.

Cold but sunny. Sent check for bells. Got down Christmas decorations and put up some. Talked with Wanda Lancaster.

Much warmer. Put up more Christmas lights and decorations. Aunt Maude went to hospital again. Having hallucinations again.

Bible Study. Margaret, Merrill, and I only ones there. Last Bible Study until January. They brought more housing materials to Carpenter Meadows. 2 are built and 4 more there with materials.

We went Christmas shopping. Not many people around in stores. Got anniversary cards from Frances Soluri and Gehm’s. Tired tonight.

Snowing hard. Sent Roy birth certificate and letter. Stephanie here. Got locked out. Debbie stopped in on way home. Merrill blew out driveway. We went for groceries in PM. About a foot of snow fell. everything so beautiful.

Roy’s 86th birthday Called Jim in evening. Kids are going to Patty’s Christmas day.

Our 53rd anniversary. We went to Sunday School 39, and church 53. Very cold. -10° this morning. Sunny. Lazy day. Too cold to go anywhere.

-24° this morning. Water froze up. School canceled. Got anniversary card and note from Vern’s. Dan has to move again. Sent first Christmas cards. Alice F called about Gerald Poncnou (?) shoveling church walks $3.00 an hour.

Merrill and Bill M put up platform at church. I made Christmas cookies. My back hurts terrible today.

Rebekah’s, 8 out to eat at Tapper Wingo. Very nice. Had meeting and gifts. I got gloves from Vi. I gave Ginny blue carnival dish. Open House at Antwerp parsonage 3-7. We went. Merrill got hair cut for first on Hall’s Corners place.

Vi’s 74th birthday. We went for groceries in AM. Napa store moving to mall. Men working on walls on two new houses. Merrill sick with terrible cold. He went to bed at 7:30.
