School starts today. Clinic. We didn’t go. Went out to hospital and had blood tests. They had ground breaking for new building at House of the Good Samaritan Hospital. Rebekah’s president visit at Antwerp.

UMW at Vi Mowers, 13 there. Jan Liscomb of Antwerp spoke on American Indian Study. Very good. Rev. Collin there. We went for groceries. Tom Ellis brought 3 cord of wood. Nice day. Warm.

Merrill mowed lawns. Tom brought 3 more cord of wood. They started putting up beams on Mall today. Dillen here selling candy bars.

Washed clothes. Justin Drake here selling candy bars. John Shorkey and Jean Cramer married today in Philadelphia church. Tom Ellis brought last of wood, 10 cord, $300.

We went to Sunday School 43, and church 68. Gladys and Ted Lamon here in PM. Beautiful day. I have horrid cold again.

Brenda, Bill, and Juanita here for dinner. Vivian here collecting for Leukemia $5.00. Eleanor much weaker.

Cloudy and rainy. Noones putting new siding on their house. New house at CM about done outside. For sale for $70.350. First one on Carpenter Meadows. My cold horrid today.

Rebekah’s, 7 there. We voted on school cost increase at supper time. Passed. Rained hard in evening. Hurricane hit Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. Lots of damage.

We went for groceries in AM. Lots on TV about hurricane “Gilbert”. Winds not as strong, 120 MPH, as it heads for land. Cold wind here but sunny.

Nice today. Olympic games start in Korea. Watched opening ceremonies. Just great.

Raining. Washed clothes. Jim called in evening. The kids are all playing soccer. Joel is giving up paper route.

Very warm. We went to Sunday School 41, and church 38. Warm today. Roger Rappole in church today. We took red squirrels up on cross road, 5 of them. Randy and girls came after corn. Went over town. Got sub for supper.

Wrote Vern’s. Sent card and $5.00. Another warm day, 80°. Washed Merrill’s work clothes. Sue and Bob here for church money.

Cloudy and windy and warm. Merrill helped work on Horton’s chopper box. Thunder storms with wind and heavy rain off and on in PM. Vern called in evening. Coming good on house. Dan has an apartment off Hall Road.

Vern’s birthday 52 years. Eric’s birthday, 11 years. Merrill worked at Horton’s on box.

First day of fall. Merrill went to bank before going to Horton’s to work on wagon box.

We went to city for blood pressure pills in morning. Merrill went to Horton’s when we got home. Raining and cloudy. Cleared in PM. Debby here. She is a painter at Fort Drum.

UMW District meeting at Gouverneur. I went with Margaret. 7 from Philadelphia there. Merrill worked on wagon at Horton’s all day. Uncle Len Haggerty went to nursing home at Boonville this week.

We went to Sunday School 41, and church 42. A beautiful day, 70°. Jim, Jill, and Sue here awhile in PM. Jim took test for lieutenant yesterday.

Wrote Vern’s. Merrill worked at Horton’s awhile finishing chopper box. They went to Clay for church chairs for their new church. Merrill hurt his knee.

Leah Simonds birthday, 74. Administrative Council, 8 there. Thunder storm in evening. Rained hard.

Yerdon’s 52nd anniversary. Made chocolate chip cookies. Rebekah’s had it at Leah’s Court in Municipal building. Merrill worked on Horton’s wagon in PM.

Discovery Space ship up okay. Terry and Pat Hall’s 9th anniversary. PPR meeting with District Superintendent at Black River, 10 present. I went with Collin. Merrill had trustee meeting at church. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. My eyes bad in early evening.

I called Ken in morning. Eleanor still in St. Joseph’s hospital. They changed her medication. May get home Monday. Merrill worked at Horton’s.

We went to Sunday School 48, and church 51. World Wide Communion Sunday. Rainy. Watched the closing of the Olympic Games from Korea.

Discovery back at noon from space. Everything went great. Merrill worked at Horton’s. Sent Bea Gehm card and letter. Sammy here for funnies paper.

Merrill home today. No school. Merrill put wood down cellar. Cold in evening. David Cook’s are building large addition on their house.

Beautiful day. I washed clothes. Merrill raked leaves. Hal Hall’s new car wash opened today.

We went to church and Sunday School, 50 there. Rally Day. I called Ken. Eleanor still in hospital.

Hal and Kim Hall have baby girl, Kaitlin Ann. Laura’s 14th birthday. I called June. We went to Vern’s in AM. June took us to hospital in Syracuse to see Eleanor for last time. Steve and Kathy and Dan came to Vern’s in evening. We took Eleanor flowers.

PPR meeting at Evans Mills, 7:30. Only 4 there so we will meet next Wednesday. We went to Don’s on way home. He sold 20 cows today for $10,000. Lila Ashley’s birthday.

Bible Study on Revelations in Philadelphia. Only 4 of us there. Snow flurries in evening for first this fall here. Jim called. He works days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for 3 weeks. Jolie didn’t pass drivers test.

Cold. We went for groceries in morning. Merrill put on storm windows. Roasted a turkey I’ve had in freezer, 20 pounds. Merrill put more wood down cellar.

Still cold and windy. Cut up turkey. Sent letter to Eleanor.

A beautiful day. Washed clothes. Linda B got home at 4:30 AM from Reserves in Washington, DC for two and a half weeks. Merrill put in storm windows at church. Cleaned up the garden.

We went to Sunday School 45, and church 52. Jim, Jill, Joel, and Christie Jenkins here for supper. A beautiful day, 75°

Great day, 70°. Merrill tied up cardboard and papers at church. I sent for calcium pills. Administration Council meeting on church repair. 12 out to special meeting. Mr. Taylor didn’t show up. Going to see a lawyer.

Eleanor died at 2 PM today. Dr. Scanlon 1:30. No dark room test this time. All okay. Kathy VanTassel’s birthday. Planning meeting at parsonage. Trish Lewis in charge, 21 present.

Aunt Maude Haggerty’s 83rd birthday. We stopped to see her on way to Bible Study, 7 out to Bible Study. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Liz Horton came home from college, homesick.

Dodgers won World Series against Los Angeles A’s. We went for groceries in AM. Merrill worked up leaves for Terry Hall but he didn’t come for them. I called Ken in evening. He’s doing okay. Received letter for jury duty, November 7.

Dad and Mom married 74 years today at Philadelphia. Merrill put more wood down cellar. Windy and cold.

Ground white with snow this morning. Baked pies and potatoes for tomorrow. Washed clothes. Merrill went to dump.

We went to Sunday School 48, but didn’t stay for church, 43. Debbie stopped by. We all went to Ken’s about 50 there. Good to see everyone. We went to Vern’s and spent the night. Their new curtains look so nice.

We got home about 11 AM from Vern and June’s. Raining here. Sent Steve card, and $5.00.

Steve’s 24th birthday. Cold and rainy day.

Rebekah Installation. I’m chaplain again. 21 there. Leah NG again . Rained about all day. Some snow in places. I made cranberry salad to take.
