We went to Dorothy Hogaboom, 78 funeral. Good to see her kids but sad to think we may not be together again.

100°. Wrote Vern’s. Froze green beans. Ran fan all night but too hot to sleep.

98°. Too hot to do anything. Ran fan all night again so was able to sleep. Sackets band opened Empire Games at Syracuse. The kids are so great.

13th day of 90°-100° temperatures. We went for groceries in AM. Rained some in evening. Thunder storms all around us. Still very humid all night. Got thank you note from Rev’s Kerr-Carpenter.

Still hot and humid. Some showers. Washed. Used dryer except for sheets. Merrill cleaned floors. He took garbage. They take everything now.

We moved here 10 years ago today. Trustee meeting before church, 8:30. Had 36 at church. Rev. Collin and 3 kids leave for Illinois Youth ‘88. Started taking 2 Plaquenil a day for my arthritis.

Trustee meeting in evening. Only 4 there. Called Jim. Patty answered phone. She had just brought the girls home. Had first tomatoes from garden.

90° but windy in PM. We went to church, 30 there. Charlie Covell had service. Colin and kids got home about 8 AM but had bad trip. Robert, Cheryl, Breanne, and Christie here in PM awhile.

Raining. Very humid but temperature down some. We went to Nichols for eye drops and pills. Merrill got cement for garage wall. They have sides up on house at Carpenter Meadows.

Much cooler, 60°. Washed bedding. Merrill finished garage walk. They put roof rafters on house at Carpenter Meadows. Sent card to Steve and Kathy. We walked down to new house in evening.

Down to 45° over night. Doris Benson Delles died lasts night of heart attack. We went for groceries. Saw Terry and girls.

Cold wind but nice. We went to church, 28. Jill in Miss Thousand Island Teenage Pageant at Edgewood Resort. The new front sidewalk is done. Looks nice. Cost $1600.

Steve and Kathy’s first anniversary. Took food to Fire Hall for Delles funeral. Laura here in evening. Brought us freeze dried ice cream from Smithsonian, Washington. Astronaut ice cream.

Merrill got hair cut. I made 2 pies, cookies, and 24 cup cakes. Part of them are for Jim’s. Raining in evening.

Got letter from June. Steve started new job at paper. Dr. Siegel, 9:45 AM. Blood pressure 132/80. We went to Jim’s. Took them garden stuff and baked stuff. Saw Jill’s Miss Teen Pageant film. She looked pretty. We went to Don’s. Had supper. Talked with Eleanor and Roberts. Stopped to see Ray. He is painting his garage.

Wrote June and Vern. Sent anniversary card. Merrill ordered wood from Tom Ellis $30. a cord. Froze 5 packages of corn from Don’s. Merrill went to post office twice. Mailman left mail in box I wanted mailed.

Vern and June’s 28th anniversary. Nice day. I washed clothes. Merrill mowed lawns. Mostly weeds. First time in weeks. It has been so dry. Jim and scouts camping today and tomorrow. Patty with kids. We went over to Aunt Maude’s but no one was there.

Raining. We went to church 38 there. Communion. Stopped at Aunt Maude’s on way home. Gary’s 35th birthday. Cheryl having a pool party for him. We went up to Pauline and Garmon’s in AM. Rained terrible on way home.

Aunt Maude had throat dilation. Dr. Batestta II for the first time. A passenger train went through Philadelphia at 11:15 AM for the first time in 24 years on way to State Fair at Syracuse. Froze 6 packages of corn.

Jury Duty, Philadelphia, 5:45. Rape case. Soldier and 15 year old girl. I got excused because of Jim. Kinley Bowers acting judge. About 50 there. Washed dress clothes and pressed them. They acquitted soldier at 12:30 AM.
