Got stuff ready for tomorrow. Washed clothes. Cloudy and showers. Vern, June, Dan and Mr. Peabody (cat) got here about 10 AM. Horton brought down dump truck to put old shingles in.

Darcy’s 18th birthday. Men worked at roof all day. Gary and Joey helped awhile. Steve and Kathy here to help also. June and I went for a walk. Stopped at Lancaster’s and Wanda’s.

Merrill went to church 9:00 now. 33 there. They worked at roof all day. Finished about 4 PM. A beautiful day. Vern’s left after supper. Everyone tired and sore but happy to have roof done. Dan $65.

Another great day. Stayed home alone all day. Thelma S stopped to visit on her walk. Merrill got roof trash loaded on truck. Hot in the 80’s.

Merrill went up to Horton’s in AM. Another hot day. Need rain so bad. Kathryn Haggerty Wilcox, 50 died in Florida of cancer.

PPR meeting at parsonage in Philadelphia. 9 there to plan party for Collin and Kathy. Very hot, 90’s. Merrill went to Mills to take back shingles and pay bill.

We went for groceries in AM. Power off and on in store. Cobby Slate here in evening. Still in the 90’s. So dry. Sent Jolie card, note, and $5.00.

Hot, 92°. Orville Haggerty, 84 died. Jolie’s’ 17th birthday. She is having a party. We went to church 33. Cobby slate preached. Collin with kids in West virginia. We went for ride and up to park in PM.

Cooler 80°. Merrill mowed lawns. Weeds bad. Martha Roberts called to say Orv died yesterday at 2:20. (Sunday) Kathryn Wilcox died July 5. I called Elgin, Arts, Paul’s and Lila.

I called Vern’s in morning about Orv. Took song sheets to Maureen Johnson in Antwerp in evening. Called Jim’s. Juanita called in evening.

We went to city shopping for church stuff. We went to Adams. Stopped at Beulah’s before going to funeral home. Orv looked very natural. Kathryn’s ashes arrived and put in closed casket. Vern, June, Jim, and Jill at funeral home.

Rained in morning. Hot and muggy. Orv’s funeral. Quite a few to it. Richard couldn’t get home until tonight.

Haggerty Reunion at Wescott. Got rained out. We went to Jim’s. We had picnic cook out on his front porch. We went to church, 30 out.

Got perm at Donna’s, $20. We voted in PM on increased budget for middle school. Lila called in evening to say Beulah Strader Gilmore 71 died in Canada. I called Pauline and Garmon. Pauline called back.

Raining. We went for groceries in morning. Rained about all day. Sun came out after supper.

Beulah Strader Gilmore’s funeral in Canada. We went with Pauline and Garmon. A large funeral. Served lunch at the church. Very hot. Police stopped us for driving too fast in 45 mile zone. No ticket.

We had a combined church service. Evans Mills, Philadelphia, Sprageville, and Antwerp ministries present to celebrate Collin and Kathy’s ordination. They told us they are pregnant. About 140 there. Great day. We went over to Aunt Maude’s.

Washed. Claude Simonds, 80 died at 8:40 this morning. Vi called. I am so sore and lame. I hate to move.

Don’s birthday. Sent him card and note. Took a salad to Leah’s. Stopped at Mowers. Went to mall and to fair. Carmel Quinn sang. Great. Saw Jim and kids at fair. Saw lots of folks we knew. Lila called. Gibson’s and Jim at Aunt Maude’s.

Vi, Edna, and I got supper at Leah’s. Bill and vi and us went to funeral home in evening. Lots of people. Leah’s brothers’ Glenn and Art and sister Leona here for funeral.

Claude’s funeral 11 AM. Merrill went to funeral. Ginny, Jill, Vi and I got lunch ready at Leah’s. We went to Vern and June’s in evening. Stopped at Ken’s on way. Eleanor was at the pond.

Vern and Merrill worked on house all day. Poured cement steps and got house boarded up. June and I went over to Gehm’s apartment. Very nice. It was very hot all day.

Vern and June gave us a luncheon boat ride on the triple decker boat at Oswego. Gehm’s, Steve, Kathy, Dan, 9 of us. Just great. Vern and Merrill put in windows. We stopped at Ken’s on way home. Rained hard in Oswego but none here. Very hot and humid.

We went to church, 28 out. We stopped at Leah’s a few minutes and went to store. Still hot and muggy. Napped in PM. Dorothy Hogaboom, 78 died Friday. Funeral Tuesday.
