In the 90’s today. Wrote Vern’s. Leslie called in evening. Melba has been in hospital for throat cancer operation. She’s still smoking.

Very hot and humid, 80°. Rained with thunder storms in evening. Didn’t cool it off. Cactus has 2 blossoms tonight.

Don’s 64th birthday. Kathy’s shower. I didn’t go. Too far away. We went to church, 34 there. Rained off and on in late PM. Much cooler in evening.

Down to 50° overnight. We canned 7 quarts of green beans. Gave Elaine a pail full. She and Joanne here. A beautiful day, 75°.

Paid water bill, $100 for 6 months. We went for groceries. Got part of church festival groceries. Rained in night. Cloudy. Belile’s got a new camper and truck. They went camping for the weekend.

Beautiful day. Sent back jury questionnaire. Washed clothes. We went for walk in evening and met neighbors, Orly and Anita DeMario for first time.

Hair appointment. Donna at 10:30, $20.00. Merrill and Bill measured church for wiring. We got notice that June R has filed for bankruptcy, Chapter 12.

We went to FHA office to find out situation with June. We went to Don’s afterwards. Stopped to see Roy. They are working on sewer out back of us from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

Our 9th anniversary here. Time goes so fast. Merrill went to Margaret’s for minutes of meeting about CEC. Cha filled his swimming pool with gravel. He was here.

Strawberry Festival. Nice night. Good turn out. Made $258 plus. We worked in PM and evening.

Merrill mowed weeds at parsonage. I washed clothes. Steve and Kathy came for supper and to spend night. Her first visit here. We drove around in evening to see new construction. Eleanor went into hospital at Syracuse.

Juanita called in morning to say Eleanor was in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. She has a tumor on her pancreas. To be operated on Monday. Steve and Kathy left in PM. We ate outside for lunch. Sue P and girls here.

Another hot and humid day. Eleanor to have operation at noon, if all goes well. Rained in evening. Terrible storms at Oswego and Lewis county.

I called Ken. There is nothing they can do for Eleanor. They didn’t operate. Jim called in PM. I washed clothes. Cooler and not so humid. Merrill ordered wood from Ralph Zehr, $270.00. 346-6495.

Steve and Kathy’s wedding at Minetto. A just beautiful wedding. About 165 there. Fun reception, about 130 there. They went to Vern and June’s after reception. Bride and groom opened gifts. Then they went on to Syracuse and then to Toronto Canada for a week honeymoon.

We all went to church. Nancy and Ruth, Don, and Bea there at June’s for lunch. Vern, June, Dan, Merrill, and I went to hospital to see Eleanor. 12 of us there. Rebekah party for Mary Chamberlain.

Vern took us to Wolcott to Beulah’s were we had lunch. Then to Leslie’s and Elmer’s. good to see them all. We stopped at Sackets on way back to Philadelphia in evening. Jim and Joel on hike to mountains.

Merrill up and at wood pile. He went to Mills for oil and to see about furnace. Man called at noon. I washed clothes, canned 7 quarts tomatoes, and did 2 packages of pears. Patty called.

Merrill and I went to city. Closing on CEC at 11 AM. Banked $33,717.00. Expenses $3983.00 to Don LaVean Jr. Merrill went over in evening to get water heater going for them.

Trustees meeting. Ordered furnace at Garn’s, $839. plus tax. Merrill worked at old furnace. I made apply pies. Jim called. They put in TV cable at Jim’s.

Jim’s 44th birthday. Jim and Walt here for lunch. They brought out new furnace. Clinic: Merrill 138/78, blood count 14. Mine was 172/90, blood count 11. We went to city. Bought furnace at Garn’s, $897.73. Called Vern. They are coming this weekend.

Another beautiful day. We didn’t go to church. Frieda and Harry here in morning. Came for 9:00 church but it is now at 11:15. Vern, June and Dan came in AM. They got furnace down cellar. Terry McKeever helped. Jim, Joel, and Jill here for supper.

Labor Day. Men worked at furnace until 3 PM. Vern’s left soon after. We went up to Griffin’s about 4:30. Rosie and Margaret here. Very warm.
