Strawberry Committee meeting here. Marie, Shari, Margaret, and myself. Sue Boscheck here in AM. Noreen Riley here in PM. Beautiful day but cooler. Merrill mowed lawns. Helen Dimon 62 died this noon.

Diary Entry for 7/30/1987

Paid water bill, $100 for 6 months. We went for groceries. Got part of church festival groceries. Rained in night. Cloudy. Belile’s got a new camper and truck. They went camping for the weekend.

Merrill mowed weeds at parsonage. I washed clothes. Steve and Kathy came for supper and to spend night. Her first visit here. We drove around in evening to see new construction. Eleanor went into hospital at Syracuse.

Juanita called in morning to say Eleanor was in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse. She has a tumor on her pancreas. To be operated on Monday. Steve and Kathy left in PM. We ate outside for lunch. Sue P and girls here.

I called Ken. There is nothing they can do for Eleanor. They didn’t operate. Jim called in PM. I washed clothes. Cooler and not so humid. Merrill ordered wood from Ralph Zehr, $270.00. 346-6495.

Steve and Kathy’s wedding at Minetto. A just beautiful wedding. About 165 there. Fun reception, about 130 there. They went to Vern and June’s after reception. Bride and groom opened gifts. Then they went on to Syracuse and then to Toronto Canada for a week honeymoon.

We all went to church. Nancy and Ruth, Don, and Bea there at June’s for lunch. Vern, June, Dan, Merrill, and I went to hospital to see Eleanor. 12 of us there. Rebekah party for Mary Chamberlain.

Vern took us to Wolcott to Beulah’s were we had lunch. Then to Leslie’s and Elmer’s. good to see them all. We stopped at Sackets on way back to Philadelphia in evening. Jim and Joel on hike to mountains.

Diary Entry for 9/2/1987

Jim’s 44th birthday. Jim and Walt here for lunch. They brought out new furnace. Clinic: Merrill 138/78, blood count 14. Mine was 172/90, blood count 11. We went to city. Bought furnace at Garn’s, $897.73. Called Vern. They are coming this weekend.

Nice day. Cold over night. Merrill went to Antwerp for pipes etc. We went for groceries. Vern called in morning. Are coming Sunday. Washed clothes. Bob Griffin died today of heart attack, 60 years old.

Another beautiful day. We didn’t go to church. Frieda and Harry here in morning. Came for 9:00 church but it is now at 11:15. Vern, June and Dan came in AM. They got furnace down cellar. Terry McKeever helped. Jim, Joel, and Jill here for supper.
