Jim’s 44th birthday. Jim and Walt here for lunch. They brought out new furnace. Clinic: Merrill 138/78, blood count 14. Mine was 172/90, blood count 11. We went to city. Bought furnace at Garn’s, $897.73. Called Vern. They are coming this weekend.

Nice day. Cold over night. Merrill went to Antwerp for pipes etc. We went for groceries. Vern called in morning. Are coming Sunday. Washed clothes. Bob Griffin died today of heart attack, 60 years old.

Another beautiful day. We didn’t go to church. Frieda and Harry here in morning. Came for 9:00 church but it is now at 11:15. Vern, June and Dan came in AM. They got furnace down cellar. Terry McKeever helped. Jim, Joel, and Jill here for supper.

Labor Day. Men worked at furnace until 3 PM. Vern’s left soon after. We went up to Griffin’s about 4:30. Rosie and Margaret here. Very warm.

Administrative Council, 8 there. Minister had meeting at Shari’s. Didn’t come. Rained off and on all day. Gary Belile had accident with new truck. Bob Griffin’s funeral at church 10:00. Merrill was a bearer. Church was full.

First day of school. Merrill went to Robbins for pipes and tubing. Frank came over in evening and started new furnace. Rebekah’s. I went with Ginny, 6 out. Mr. Eagan (FHA office) called.

UMW at Manor, Marion Smith’s. Doreen McKemm, Dorothy Gilbert, Canton guests. 12 out. Nice meeting. Merrill mowed lawns. I wrote Vern and June. Washed clothes.

A beautiful day, 78°. We went for groceries. Washed Merrill’s work clothes. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM fixing chopper wagon. My arthritis bad today.

Rained hard during night. Windy. Rained off and on all day. Merrill worked at Horton’s in AM. I canned 8 pints tomatoes. Elgin Bowman called. Olive has been in Winchester Hospital since June 11.

Still raining. We went to Sunday School 39, and church 43. We went to Ken and Eleanor’s in PM. Eleanor pretty good. She has the chemo 24 hours a day. We got home at 8 PM.

Went to city for eye drops at Nichols Pharmacy. Wasn’t open on Sunday. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM. I collected for leukemia in PM. Vivian gave us melon and corn.

Rained hard all day. We went to city to bankrupt court for June Ridsdale. We stopped at see Gladys and Sid Lamon. Nice visit. Paul Kellar was married this summer.

We went to Sunday School 36, and church 54. A new family of 4 from 801 housing there. Aunt Maude and Cha didn’t go. Jim, Patty, Jill, and Adrian Gilmore here for supper. Jim worked on wood.

Washed clothes. Cloudy day. Sent Vern card, letter, and check. Didn’t get it sent Saturday. I went over to Linda’s for drive. She has had shots for Carausca (?) in November for 17 days. Last day of summer. A beautiful summer.

Vern called. Merrill worked at wood. Agway brought fuel oil for first. 38 gallon at $.74. Hartford and Kim C brought leukemia donation. Merrill finished wood, 20 cord for $270.00

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. All okay. Got drops and pills at Nichols. Got tablecloth. I went to Rebekah’s with Ginny. Paid dues, $8. Election, Vi, NG. Sent Olive card.

Nice day. Sunny. Sent taxes, $347.34. Sent stuff to EPIC. Sent bankruptcy claim. Paid AARP insurance for 4 months. Merrill went over town twice. He mowed lawns. They painted water tank light green. Carpenter Meadows project moved in trailer headquarters.

Olive Bowman’s 90th birthday. We went for groceries in AM. Sent dated proof claim to bankruptcy court. I didn’t date the one I sent yesterday. Merrill mowed weeds and cleaned garage. Merrill helped Carl on wagon in PM.

We went to Sunday School 37, and church 70. Several people from 801 Housing there today. A just beautiful summer day. 71°. Randy, Elaine and girls here in PM after corn stalks. The girls are so cute.

I sent $57 to leukemia fund. They are working on shopping plaza this morning for first in long time. Cloudy in AM. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM drawing corn. I froze apples, beets, and tomatoes.

Trustees meeting at Marg’s. They got bank account figures out. They gave Merrill key to bank vault. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. I called telephone company about Lifeline. They didn’t receive it in April. Wrote Ken’s. Randy brought us corn to freeze.
