Very hot and humid. Terrible foggy all night. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Blaine Howland left there to live with his mother again.

Aunt Maude went to hospital, knee infection. Sunday School started today. We are back in church building after about 12 years. Church 42. Jim, Patty, Joel, and Jill here for supper. Merrill ordered load of logs from Lowville, $175.00. Worked at Horton’s all day. June R here. She got 10 cows.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. He helped Gary in evening. Sunny today. Seems great. Aunt Maude not doing so good. Mrs. Glusner went to hospital by ambulance. Wrote Vern’s.

Rebekahs. I didn’t go. Ginny didn’t come. Washed Merrill’s work clothes by hand. he worked at Horton’s all day. Helped Gary in evening. They got roof covered. Much cooler.

Finished Icicle pickles. 6 pints. They surveyed CEC property yesterday. 350X66 foot lot. Sunny but cool. Rained some in PM. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Called Lila. Aunt Maude not good. They are using restraints to keep her in bed or chair.

Friday the 13th. Merrill worked at Horton’s until 11 AM. We went for groceries. Got load of logs from Dwight Snyder, $175 for first time. Merrill mowed lawns. Got letter from Vern’s.

Merrill and I got hair cuts. Merrill finished mowing lawn. I talked with Aunt Maude from hospital. She is feeling better but not okay yet.

We went to Sunday School, 29 and church, 45. Jim’s here in PM and for supper. I took arthritis book to Vera Rosbrook.

Dr. Heldt, 4 PM. I have to have more tests at hospital on Monday. Saw Peggy and Don Moore at Dr. Haldt’s. Good visit. Saw Aunt Maude at hospital. She’s not good. Had bad night. Sears repairman got new timer on washer

First Administrative Council with Rev. Collin, 11 out. Beautiful summer day. I did a huge wash. Merrill started cutting wood. Went to Mills for oil. I signed for cassette with Laura Delles, Barbara Mandrel tape.

Peron and Annie Kiechle’s 68th wedding anniversary. Robbins men cleaned furnace. Sunny hot day.

We went for groceries in AM. Merrill cut wood. Very hot. In the 80’s today. My arms hurting bad. Jim is on crime prevention class. Terrible earthquake in New Mexico.

I went for blood tests and other tests at hospital. Saw Aunt Maude. Cheryl there. Signed paper for Cheryl power of Attorney. Talked with Patty and Beula. Sent Vern card, letter, and $5. Still very hot. Charles and Dawn Kiechle had baby girl born today, Jacqueline Elizabeth.

Cloudy and much cooler. Merrill cleaned church. He cut wood all day. I washed clothes. Made chocolate cake. My arms bad. Vern’s 49th birthday.

We went to Sunday School and church, 49 there. Jim, Patty, and kids here. Patty brought lasagna and ginger bread for super. Delicious. Pauline Garmon and Uncle Len here on way home from Canada. Saw Charlie Ault there.

Jim’s Crime Prevention class all week. I went to hospital at 7 AM as an ambulatory patient. Got the works. Dr. Heldt couldn’t find any tumors. Saw Aunt Maude. She’s better.

Carol from House of Good Samaritan Hospital called to see how I was doing. Felt much better today. Merrill went to Agway for peas, $18.89. Raining. Wrote Vern and June. Jim’s saw set up.

Rebekah’s election of officers. 7 out. Audited books after lodge. Got Dr. Haldt’s bill, $250. Merrill cut wood all day. Terrible hurricane brewing in Atlantic Ocean.

Nice day but getting windy. Sent Simonds card. Leah and Claude’s 49th anniversary today. Aunt Maude feeling better. Beulah fell in trailer and broke her wrist.

Leah’s birthday. Gloria (hurricane) finally blew herself out. Damage all up the Eastern seaboard. We went for groceries. Paid school taxes, $324.77. Rained hard all day. Wrote Pauline and Beulah.

Merrill went to dump. He cut wood some but helped Gary on the garage most of day. Too wet to chop corn.

Rev. Bruce Chipman on pulpit exchange. We went to Sunday School and church, 56 there. We went to Don’s in PM. Got eye drops. Stopped to see Beulah. She broke her arm. Stopped to see Aunt Maude at hospital. Roy was at Don’s. I called Jim’s.

Merrill finished cutting rest of wood before he went to Horton’s to drive tractor all day. Chopper broke down in PM. Corrine Simonds called. June here in PM. She got 22 heifers in all. Talked with Cheryl and Lila. Aunt Maude coming home tomorrow.

Aunt Maude home from hospital today. She called me in evening. She is glad to be home after 3 weeks and 3 days. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Cold wind. Got bill for anesthesia, $168.00

Merrill didn’t have to go to Horton’s today. Their new minister, Rev. Bruce Beers moves in. Sent Bea Gehm card. Merrill mowed lawns. We went for groceries. June R here to use phone. I called on Lancaster’s. Took them cabbage. UMW at Doris Haggerty’s. I went with Marion Smith. 10 out.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Nice today, but cold wind. Washed some clothes.

Raining. We went to city. Church doors all together so couldn’t get them in station wagon. Got 4 gallon Preston. I got black bag and brown one. Washed clothes. Merrill is getting a cold. Slept all PM. Went to bed before 7 PM.

Family get together at Aunt Maude’s for Larry. He is going to Texas to live. We went to Sunday School and church, 51 out. World Wide communion.

Larry leaves for Texas. They all went to Syracuse airport to see him off. I spent the day with Aunt Maude. She is so much better. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. He went to store in evening. Nice day but cool wind.

Nice day today. Merrill worked at Horton’s. Sent frozen rebate letter and light bill, $85.01.

Rebekah installation, 26 present. Leah NG and Ginny VG. I’m chaplain again. Mary Chamberlain installed us. Patty called in AM. Merrill called White’s about church doors. They cost $728.60. Got check from Medicare, $26.72 for Dr. Heldt’s office call.

Merrill helped cover ensilage at Horton’s. Rained in PM so they didn’t cut corn. We went for groceries. It is a mess around the Big M store. Parking lot is being made larger. Putting in foundation too. Double the size of store. Got card and note from Vern’s. Had good trip to Adirondack.

Merrill and Bill Burns went to White’s for church doors. Mary Dingman married today. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM. I washed clothes. Baked pie crusts and brownies. The leaves are getting so colorful.

We went to Sunday School and church, 31 there. Raining and cold. Jim’s and Becky Stevenson, Jolie’s friend, here for supper.

Dr. Heldt at 1:30. Everything tested out okay. He want me to have renal check on October 23.

Agway dinner. I made 2 pies for it. 391 tickets. Made $831 each. We went to it this year. Raining. Got jewelry and check from Uncle Berl’s estate by registered mail. Jerry Delles brought load of stone, $48.61. Merrill spread it all today. He’s tired tonight. June R here in PM.

Sunny but colder. Merrill cleaned church and put on storm windows at parsonage. My arthritis really bad all week. Sent receipt to California lawyer.

Nice day. Sunny. We went for groceries. Merrill put lawn furniture away for winter. He put on storm windows. Surveyor measured 20 acre field behind our house.

Merrill helped Carl get mattress and springs to his mother’s. Carl and Cheryl going to Marks tomorrow. Wrote Vern and June. Sunny and nice. Kathy VanTassel’s birthday. Sent Aunt Maude birthday card.

World Series starts today. Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals. 3-2 Cardinals. Aunt Maude’s 80th birthday. First day of hunting season. Moved plants off porch. Repotted some of them.

We went to Sunday School and church, 59 there. Aunt Maude there for first time since she went to hospital. Beautiful day but quite cool.

Merrill tarred roof spots. Grand day but cool. In 50’s. Washed dark clothes. UMW invited to Mills to see Rev. Catherine’s England trip slides. Alice F and Leah S went with us. About 40 there.

PPR Meeting at parsonage, 7:30. Carl Taylor resigned as chairman. Voted on Pastor’s salary. State dug up water main at corner lawn to put in shut off for village water.

Hospital at 8:30. Renal scan. Took all forenoon. Test was all x-rays. Beautiful day. I went to Rebekah’s with Ginny. 8 out.

Rainy and cloudy. Got two checks from Medicare. I made pumpkin pies and brownies.

Steve’s 21st birthday. Doris and I met at Frieda’s to pick UMW officers. I walked down. Nice day. Merrill helped Gary put in cement in his garage. Thunder storm during night.

Men moved piano from CEC to parsonage. Nice day. Washed clothes. My arthritis real bad. Huge football game at school. Indian River Central won over General Brown, 16-0. They have 7-0 game wins. Get to play at Syracuse dome.

We went to Sunday School and church. 54 there. Marion Smith rode with us. Windy. I have diarrhea bad again. First time in ages. World Series ended in 4 games. Royals won over Cardinals.

Cold North wind. Merrill went to bank and post office and to Antwerp for stove pipes, $60.00. He put them on furnace. I’ve been in bed most of day. Feel rotten.
