Hazy and foggy today. Debbie Gettering’s wedding at church. I washed clothes. June R came after Merrill to get her tractor going. Starter locked on it. Carl Scee called. Dorothy home from hospital.

We went to church, 36 out. Welcome party at Evans Mills church for Collin and Kathy Kerr-Carpenter from 2-4. We went, about 50 or 55 there. Very nice. Gave them desk clock. I went to funeral home for Carleton Alton in Theresa in evening.

Patty gets home from California at 5:25 today. Jim and kids met her plane. Merrill was bearer at Carleton Alton’s funeral. I didn’t go. Nice today but cool and windy all day. Had green beans from garden. I have diarrhea bad.

Merrill mowed lawns. I’ve felt horrid all day. Housing on corner coming along fast.

We went to fair. All very nice. We went to Sackets. Jim painted kitchen white while Patty was in California. Looks so pretty. I got groceries for our Ice Cream Social at Big M. Beautiful day. They are putting windows on housing on corner.

Sent Don card. Philadelphia named as a site for 801 housing today. We went for groceries in AM. Canned green beans. Got card from Juanita. Wrote Vern’s. Hot and humid. Good breeze. Ate supper on picnic table outside.

Don’s 62nd birthday. Rained hard. Darcy went to Carthage Hospital by ambulance. She fainted in pool.

I washed clothes. We went over town at noon. Got trouble light for Don. Stopped at Aunt Maude’s. She gave me a puffy pillow. Very pretty. Merrill helped at Belile’s on garage wall about all day.

We went to church, 33 out. We went to Don’s for family picnic. a nice day together. Steve and Gail came. Vern’s in Albany with Dan about scholarship. Jim’s didn’t come.

The Jack Lancaster family moved into green house. Cheryl here with check for Merrill. We walked down to housing project in evening. It’s going to be nice. Lots of folks looking it over. Rained in evening.

Merrill and Bill Mowers took old piano apart in church basement. Chipmunks driving us crazy. Plugged more holes in back of dryer in laundry room.

Marty brought me 2 pink roses. Rainy. Merrill went to Mills for stuff to control chipmunks. Also went to George’s Garage to see about back up lights. Carl Taylor called in evening. PPR meeting on August 7th at Mills.

Merrill bombed chipmunk holes. A nice day but cool in evening. We canned 7 quarts green beans. We went for groceries. NY State put in new sidewalks by church.

Down to 45° over night. Merrill made me a nice radio stand out of piano boards. Nice but hot in PM.

Cool in morning. Washed clothes. June R here to call Ennis about baler part. Merrill and Bill took old piano to dump.

We went to church, 41 out. Two new families on our street in church today, Lancaster’s and Boscheck’s. Jim’s here for picnic supper. We went for walk in evening. Bought ice cream freezer from Grieces garage sale.

Very hot but a nice day. Lawns are getting real brown. We worked at church in PM. Man from credit union looked at CEC.

Strawberry Festival at 6 PM. A small crowd this year, but a real nice time. Made $427.87. Includes $129.25 from auction. We worked in PM setting up. Got letters from Vern’s. He’s teaching summer school.

PPR meeting at Mills, 7:30. I went with Vera. Doris came along. Called by minister to access things. Raining. Got letter from Vern’s. Wayne H helped paint basement floors.

Washed clothes. Started using overhead by-pass today. Merrill helped Gary on garage in evening. Merrill and Wayne H fixed hole in CEC parking lot with cement. They went to Theresa to surveyors.

Dr. Siegel at 1:00. I had assistant. Found blood in urine. Very hot in city. Sue Boscheck and girls here in PM. Merrill helped Gary on garage. Merrill put gravel over CEC cement.

Merrill went to dump. He helped Gary on garage most of day. Very hot and humid. My arthritis real bad all day. Can hardly move.

We went to church, 30 out. Cloudy with some rain in morning. Nice and sunny rest of day. Merrill helped Gary take down garage forms.

Certificate due. New amount renewed, $1239.76. Got linoleum for laundry room at Hang & Put-Down shop, $42.78. Got car inspected at George’s. Passed. $6.00.

Merrill helped move stuff at church. They are painting kitchen. We started laundry room. Took up 3 layers of linoleum. I sent orders to Wards and Lane Bryant.

We went to city. Cashed in Federal Land Bank Stock. 107 shares @ $5.00. Put it in interest account. Got paint at Sears. Merrill finished painting laundry room. June R here. Very hot and muggy.

Got new linoleum down and things back in laundry room. Looks great. Hot and muggy with thunderstorms today. My arms hurting terrible all day.

We met building inspector, Rod Thornton at church to okay entrance of building. Got groceries. Cooler today. Wrote Brenda and Bill. Washed. Called Sears. June R here. She’s bought 10 cows.

Merrill cleaned church. He mowed two of our lawns as weeds were back. Still very dry. My arthritis back today. Steve and Gail dropped by at 4 PM. They stayed over night. Were out driving.

Picnic at Brenda and Bill’s. We didn’t’ go. Steve and Gail left after lunch. Jim, Patty, and kids here in PM and supper. Jim spent week on camping trip with group of kids.

Sears repairman here for washer. Timer has gone up. Will be 2 weeks before part gets here. I made cookies. Deadra here for CEC key in morning. Mrs. Sullivan having trouble getting money for CEC. Corrine called. Had sweet corn from garden.

Jim goes to Syracuse to see Dr. Schaine. He’s a neurosurgeon. Merrill helped move rest of stuff across to church from CEC. Got everything moved over. Several worked.

My arthritis bad. Merrill worked at garden on strawberry patch. Lots of quack grass in it. Merrill has been helping Gary on garage every night.

I called Minetto church. Services at 10 AM. Got dress (blue) and shoes (brown and black) Bras and hose yet to come. Called about Wards order. Mistake on it. Washed out some clothes by hand. Wrote Ken’s. Large burner on stove burned out. Made jacket.

Karen’s 21st birthday. Merrill set out strawberry plants in PM. Cloudy day. Merrill helped Gary on garage. I wrote letter to Wards about order changes. Jane Dingman here on bike. There is trouble over Mary being married in Methodist church. Steven called. Church is at 10 AM.

Raining all day. Merrill got another free $5.00 gas ticket. He helped Gary some in evening.

25th anniversary for Vern and June after church. We went to church at Minetto. Communion. Ken and Eleanor went with us. We all went out to Ponderosa for lunch. Steve and Dan put on a nice surprise party for their folks. Jim’s here in evening on way home from day at Park Safari. Merrill got a new dark suit at Sears, $127.33.

Washed clothes by hand in bathtub. Took them all day to dry. Cloudy day. Merrill helped Gary in evening until it started raining. Jim and Explorers camping this week.

Lila called. Aunt Maude is hearing voices again. They have been staying with her all the time. Merrill went over town. Vern and June’s 25th anniversary. Merrill washed his clothes. Hal and Kim Hall have baby girl, Megan Rae born in Gouverneur.

I spent day with Aunt Maude. Lila and girls went to State Fair all day. Rained off and on all day. Merrill came over after me. Larry came and got me.

Colder today. We went for groceries. I baked 3 banana bread and cup cakes and cake. Merrill helped Gary in evening on garage. Wrote Beulah.

Dr. Scanlon 1:30. All okay. Eye pressure is 15 in each eye. Got toilet seat cover. Had lunch at Long John Silver’s for first. Aunt Maude went to mental health department. All went well.

Cold and rainy. Merrill went to dump. My arthritis bad. We froze 7 packages sweet corn. Started Icicle pickles. Got note from Vern’s from Vermont. Got 3 pair hose from Lane Bryant. Belile’s gone to Horseheads for weekend.

We went to church, 32 there. Chaplain Charles Berge retired preacher. Rev. Collin on vacation. Telethon started at 9 PM. WWNY raised over $490,000. Over 33 million raised plus corporate millions.

Jim’s 42nd birthday. Labor Day. Watched telethon all day. Raining in morning.

Jim to Dr. Scanlon. Sent his birthday card. Late this year. Merrill mowed lawns. he went up to Horton’s in PM to measure Carl’s mother’s barn for siding and sills etc. Windy. Hot and muggy today. Got letter from California lawyer.

Clinic: Merrill 104/64 and mine was 158/94. Raining, hot, and humid. School started today. Got letter from Beulah.

UMW at Leah’s, 13 out. Nice meeting. Merrill worked at Horton’s most of day. Got 2 bras from Montgomery Wards I sent for. I washed a few clothes by hand.

We went for groceries. Donna left long dress while we were gone. Washed a load of clothes at Aunt Maude’s.
