Dad has been gone 25 years today. Lawrence Hanson’s auction. We went for groceries. Merrill and Bill Mowers worked at church in PM. Rebekah District meeting at Philadelphia, 24 present. Mary Chamberlain new DVP

Lyle Hanson, 52 died 3 years ago today. They called from Piddocks to say Uncle Berl Talcott has been buried. I called Marilyn Garbut (?) about Cameron’s but she wasn’t home. Merrill took trash. I washed clothes.

Gail Myers 21st birthday. We went to Sunday School and church, 31 there. Aunt Maude didn’t go. Much warmer today. Some rain. Glenn Bracy (?) here in PM on moped bike. We went for walk in evening.

Gladys and Ted’s 52nd anniversary. We cleaned upstairs and front porch. Washed curtains and windows. Still have to do upstairs. Washed bedding. A great day, 70°. Put plants on porch. Tired tonight.

Dental appointment. Had teeth cleaned, $10.00. We stopped at Doris and Art’s. Art was building fence. We went to Lanphere’s for stuff for church basement. Carl Taylor called and asked me to call folks about PPR meeting Friday.

Wrote Don’s. We cleaned dining room and living room. Cold wind but nice day to do curtains. Got letter from Pilon’s monument. It costs $65 to engrave 1984 on Uncle Berl’s stone.

Snow flurries in morning. We cleaned hallway and our bedroom. Wrote Pilon’s. Merrill and Bill Mowers worked at church. Dwayne Petrie here in evening. Got card from Dan from New York City trip.

PPR meeting at Mills. I went with Vera Rosbrook. Rev. Salisbury is being moved to Lorraine and Mannsville. Quite a surprise. Appointment with Dr. Siegel. He took blood test for uric acid. Got eye drops.

Washed more draperies and bedding. Merrill and Bill worked all day at church. A just beautiful day. Patty called in evening. They are bringing Jill and Joel tomorrow.

A great summer like day. We went to church, 43 there and Sunday School. Vera told people Rev. Salisbury is leaving. Jolie left with school band for Disney World Florida at 10 AM. Jim’s here for supper and Jill and Joel stayed out. Jill forgot her clothes. Got our lawn furniture out.

Another beautiful day. 80°. Jill and Joel sneaked in pool with Darcy. washed cloths. Merrill took off storm windows. Worked garden. Kids outside all day. Jim here for supper. Ge brought Jill’s clothes.

Another great day. Hot and sunny. We went for groceries in AM. June R here with farm payment. She and Freddie Davis married April 15. Merrill stopped at Sperls (?). They have sold house. Moved to Connecticut. Made cookies. Merrill worked at church in PM.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. Everything okay. Merrill took Jill and Joel to Care Bears movie. We took them home. Had supper with them. Jim working. Shopped on way home. Got car headlight. Got flour and bulb for kitchen light.

Cooler and cloudy. Merrill finished at church. Had to clean up yet. I had my hair cut at Jim’s shop. I like it. Got letter from June. Vern is in Minnesota. Gets home tonight.

Vern, June, Dan go to Dan’s interview for school scholarship in Schenectady. I wrote Ella Dranicke in Chicago. Merrill and Bill cleaned up mess at church. Jolie gets home from Band trip to Florida.

Dan’s interview 10:30 -11 AM. We cleaned kitchen, bath, and porches. Just laundry room to do yet. Joey B got mud bike. Got groceries.

We went to Sunday School and church, 53 out. We watched arthritis telethon with Mike White. Called in $5.00. Merrill burned pile of brush and junk from church. Wrote letter to Vern’s.

UMW district Meeting at Alex Bay, 7 went. We went to city. Got radio and sun glasses. Merrill got work shoes and glass for door. Patty and Jean here when we got home. Had been to Theresa. Had lunch here. They took Audrey to hospital. Dan called. He won $8000.00 scholarship from Price Chopper foods.

Betty Haggerty, 77 died 3 years ago today. Merrill mowed lawns for first this year. My arthritis aching bad all day. Washed quilt and bed spread. Audrey had gall bladder operation.

Raining. We need it badly. I made cake and cupcakes. Arthritis hurting.

Mother and Daughter banquet at Fire Hall, 6 PM. I went alone. Kathy brought me home. The Bell Players of Gouverneur UMC played. Very good.

We went to city. Changed radio at Zayres store. Got 2 porch chairs and stand at McCrory. Got plastic for kitchen. Merrill worked at Horton’s for first this year. I went for groceries. Doris and Steve brought papers here for Sunday School paper drive.

Sunday School paper drive. Merrill didn’t help. He worked at Horton’s all day. We got letter form June. I washed clothes.

Women’s Communion Breakfast at Bethany Church, 7 AM. 7 went from Philadelphia. We went to Sunday School and church, 52 there. Vi said that Jeff Meeks got married in March. Raining again. Audrey got home from hospital. Patty called from Audrey’s.

Sent for dress and girdle. Foggy and rainy. Merrill cleaned church. Got invite to Karen’s shower at Lorraine church. May 23. Merrill didn’t work at Horton’s.

Sunny today. I washed dark clothes. Merrill mowed lawns. We went for garden seeds and groceries. Carl Taylor called about PPR meeting. I called Doris and rest of Philadelphia people.

Merrill went to Mills for fertilizer for garden. I called Carl Taylor. Rebekah’s. I didn’t go as Ginny didn’t come.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. I made cocoanut cookie squares. We went to meeting at Fire Barn on 10th Infantry. Sam Carrol of NYPE showed slides.

PPR meeting at CEC to plan Rev. Salisbury’s Ordination and farewell party, 9 there. Art and I went for groceries. Merrill worked at Horton’s. Rained in PM.

Art Haggerty’s birthday. In the 80’s today. Had first asparagus. Merrill planted part of garden. I washed clothes, baked a turkey, and made rolls. Merrill went to trustee meeting. Dale Fikes there. They measured CEC lot.

Mother’s Day. We went to Sunday School and church, 75 there. Nice service. Jennifer Purcell baptized. Jim’s here for dinner. Jim rode his bike from Sackets. Vern and June called in evening. Vern has ulcerated tooth.

We went to city. Got gifts for Karen, and Hale and Kim Hall. Got eye drops. $25.28. Juanita was at Doreen’s. Talked to her on phone. Got red geraniums for cemetery, $1.99 each this year.

Sent Patty card and letter and $5.00. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day until 3 PM. Went at 7 AM. I froze first asparagus.

Patty’s birthday. Merrill worked at Horton’s in AM. He mowed lawns in PM. Marty here selling tickets on calf for Holstein club (Waldorf’s calf) Carl Taylor called in evening. PPR meeting on May 25th to meet new minister.

Merrill home today. We went for groceries in AM. Radishes are up. Froze asparagus.

Sent for Buick plates, $46.25. I washed clothes. Baked two kinds of cookies. Sunny day in the 70’s.

Armed Forces Day. Surprise party for George and Joyce Graham at Legion. A very nice party. Lots there. Cool. Sent Don Gehm card and note. Got girdle from order to Lane Bryant.

We went to church and Sunday School, 44 there. Aunt Maude went to Syracuse to see her sister. Cool today. We went down to Howard and Evelyn’s. Kids all home. Good to see them. Took Hal and Kim wedding present.

Thunder and lightening during night. Very windy all day. Hot in the 80’s. Corinne Simonds here to sign CEC papers. She has it for 6 months. Darcy here. Ordered 1 doz. donuts from her. Merrill worked in garden. Stuff all up.

Colder today. Merrill worked in garden some. Brush fires real bad in Florida. Got Buick license.

Don Gehm’s birthday. Rebekah’s did not have meeting as some of us went to Rebekah assembly at Alex Bay. I went with Zelda, Vi, and Edna. Installation, Big crowd. Nice. Merrill mowed lawns. He went to Mills for Carl Horton. I washed clothes.

Merrill worked at Carl’s mother’s all day. Left at 6:30. Got home at 7 PM. Vera here with cupcakes and papers. Carl Scee called from Cora’s. He is at the County Home now, Room 114. Went there on April 17th. Ground breaking on corner for 36 unit housing.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. A beautiful day. I baked pies and brownies. Patty called. She’s going to Lorraine tomorrow. A chipmunk got in laundry room.

Karen’s shower at Lorraine Church. A nice party. Patty and kids came. Jim at Portaferry with Explorers. Had trouble with car coming home. Radiator blew out. Took plants to cemetery.

Another chipmunk got in house, 3rd one. We went to Sunday School and church, 45 there. We went to Theresa to parade. Jolie played with Sackets band. They are great. A big crowd there. Leslie called in evening. He, Beulah, and Danny were up to Rodman Cemetery today. Raining in PM

Memorial Day. Raining hard most of day. Most parades canceled. Lazy day.

Merrill went to Greenwood Buick for hose and thermostat for Buick. Put it on in PM. He went with Carl and Randy after young stock. Planted tomato and cabbage plants in PM.

Merrill helped build fence at Horton’s. I’ve had diarrhea bad all week. Feel punk. June R. 34, and Laura’s 15th birthday.

Merrill worked at Horton’s. Got home at 3 PM. He mowed side lawn. I washed clothes. Nice day but strong wind.
