Church back at 11:15 with 35 out. Merrill released balloons. We went over to Lila and Jim’s. Roy left for home at 3:30 PM. Sunny and warm. We saw Larry’s 2 baby colts. They are so cute.

Reception for District Superintendent, Alison Wood in evening. Meeting on church repair, to see about heating and storm windows. 12 out. We voted in primaries. They announced expansion of Fort Drum today for 10th Infantry with 6500 soldiers. Helicopter division to come later.

Nice day. June R here in PM. She took home garden corn for her cows. Merrill called Trustees about meeting tomorrow night. Wrote Vern’s. Renewed Town and Country.

UMW Black River District meeting at First Church in city. I didn’t go. We went for groceries. Real warm, 78°. Had tire fixed on Buick. There was a nail in it. Trustee meeting at church. Lasted until 10:30. Talked about heating, insulation etc. Frank here with fuel oil for first this fall.

Agway food here. Went for peas, $19.96 this year. Beautiful day. We went with Clarence and Ruth to their camp at Lake Bonapart. Trees are starting to turn up that way. Nice trip.

We went to Sunday School and church. Had Sunday School in parsonage, 4 there. We went to Jim’s after church. Had lasagna. Patty took her mother to emergency room but they couldn’t find anything wrong.

We went to Sunday School and church, 51 there. Rev. Bea taught our class. A nice sunny day. In the 60’s. Jim’s here for supper. They have 1977 Chevrolet sedan now. I gave Jennifer Drake a cactus plant. She and Kevin came for it.

Cloudy and rainy. Made beet pickles. Canned 7 pints and also canned 4 quarts carrots. Found Joel’s alarm watch behind kitchen stove. Merrill mowed lawns. PPR meeting at 7:30, 7 out to it. Trustee’s meeting at 8.

Car to garage at 1 PM for heater. Merrill stopped at Mercy Hoospital to see Carl Taylor. Merrill got hair cut. Ruth Schell, 76 died.

Uncle Len here for day from Art’s. They brought him up and we took him back to Art’s in evening. Nice visit. We went over to Aunt Maude’s. Ruth Schell, 76 died last night. Fell out of bed at the hospital. Thunder storms off and on today.

Rebekah’s Assembly at Philadelphia, 124 present. UMW at parsonage, 8 out. Vickie there with Amway literature. Got groceries in PM. Mary L Hall here with eggs for Schell’s. We took UMW food to Schell’s. We went to funeral home for Ruth. Got letter from Melba.

Administrative Council at CEC, 10 there. Voted to do insulation. $4000 plus heat runs at church. I told them I don’t want to be chairman next year. I’ve had it 10 1/2 years. Rebekah’s auditing committee meeting here at 1:00. Power off in village for 5 hours.

We went to Sunday School and church, 50 out. 25th anniversary party for Carl and Cheryl Horton an Pamelia. We went. All very lovely. About 200 there. A summer like day. Saw Rose LaClair. She was raking leaves.

Merrill helped at Horton’s all day. He went at 8 to help with chores. I helped fold Newsletters at parsonage. Merrill took Randy to city for bar-B-Q grill for Horton’s anniversary gift.

Town took Sunday School papers to Carthage. Merrill didn’t help this time. First time in years he hasn’t. He worked all day at Horton’s. Took his lunch today. I went for groceries. Sent Blue Cross claims, $38.90.

Today is the 70th anniversary of Mom and Dad’s marriage. Oren and Marie Barker’s 39th. We went to Sunday School and church, 61 out. Thunder storms during church. Jim’s here for supper. Jolie is member of Sackets School band.

Merrill worked at Horton’s. Built fence. I sent Steve birthday card, letter, and check. I washed dining room curtains. We went to store in evening. Finally got letter from Uncle Berl. He has been in hospital with bleeding.

Kay’s started church insulation this morning. Didn’t come yesterday. Merrill worked at Horton’s. Blossom Haggerty, 9 months old, found dead in bed this morning at 7 AM. Called Doris.
