Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Randy and Elaine and girls went to Ohio. Merrill mowed lawns in evening. Went to Theresa for hair cut in evening. I washed clothes and got clothes ready to take.

Went to Vern’s in PM. Merrill finished lawns with push mower as big one quit. We left for Vern’s at 2:30. Stopped at Ken’s on way down. Sunny day but cold wind. James Fleming robbed Philadelphia bank. He committed suicide last Sunday.

A beautiful sunny day outside all day. They planted trees and garden. We went to Agway. Dan took SAT test (College entrance). Lots of kids here at Vern’s. We are enjoying our visit here so much. Gail Myers here in evening.

We didn’t go to Sunday School or church. Sunday School out for summer. We left Vern’s at 9 AM. Stopped at Orv’s and Richard’s. Shopped at Fays. Ate lunch at Ponderosa. Went for groceries when we got home. Merrill planted several evergreen trees Vern had left over.

40th anniversary of D-Day of WW II. Clinic: Merrill 104/70 and 14. Mine 152/90 and 11. Rained. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Got groceries at supper time. June R here in evening. We went over to Belile’s in evening. I made an appointment with Dr. Siegel.

UMW at Aunt Maude’s, 11 present. Very hot and humid. Merrill worked at Horton’s. He and Randy went to Gouverneur for lime. Stopped at June’s. Belile’s got satellite dish set up. Looks like huge spider webb. It’s 12 foot.

Merrill went to Whites Lawn Store in morning. June R here. She went to milk plant to have our pay mailed to us each month, $250. An increase of $25.. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Fitted ground for first. I went over to Vivian’s. Linda was over.

Flag Day. Cloudy. Some rain and thunder during the night. Merrill worked all day at Horton’s. Went back after supper to fix wheel. June R here at supper time. Merrill has put in 117 hours at Horton’s so far.

First appointment with Dr. Jay Siegel in city at 1:30. Liked him very much. Got parasite kit at hospital to use. Saw Florence Van Camp and Carrie and Dwayne at Samaritan Keep. Got groceries. Got a wand for my cleaner at McNairn’s.

Merrill finished fitting at Horton’s, 161 hours. He picked 12 quarts of strawberries. Wrote Vern’s. June called from city. Vern had eye appointment. Had first short cake this summer. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Baked cakes. Graduation.

A beautiful day. Merrill went to dump. He cleaned church. Also stopped at Hall’s. They paid Merrill. Paid McNairn $5.00 for vacuum cleaner wand. I washed clothes. Arthritis bad all day. We ate outside.

Cooler. Vacation Bible School started, 50 there. Sent June card, letter, and $5.00. Merrill worked in garden.

Gave cookies for Bible School. June’s birthday. Took bowel specimen to hospital. We bought 77 Buick Century at Greenwood Buick, $3327 in all. Has 41,333 miles on it. Frieda brought 23 pounds of berries to hull for church social. Ken Bowers here in evening.

Rebekah’s out to eat at Casablanca Restaurant, Gouverneur. I went. Very nice. Carry and Aunt Maude went. Wrote Dan at Boys State at Sienna College, Loudenville, NY. We went to Greenwood’s to pick up car. Did errands for Carl. He paid Merrill $565.25 for work.

Merrill took car back to Greenwood for squeak underneath it. They replaced an axle and universal joint. Dodge won’t start. Merrill mowed the lawns in PM and evening. My throat bad. Coughed all night.

We went to church, 30 out. Haggerty Reunion at Wescott Beach, 119 there. Very nice. Loren and Vera Strader came from Canada. Stormed hard in evening. Bill and Brenda and boys came to it by boat. Uncle Len Haggerty, 90 oldest. Stopped at Sackets. Jolie, Jill came home with us.
