UMW at parsonage. Very nice meeting, 19 there. Merrill helped at Horton’s all day driving tractor at Carl’s mother’s. I went for groceries. Lazy day. My arthritis hurts.

I called Steve at Potsdam. He likes it great. Sounded great. Bus fare to Philadelphia is $4.25. I called bus depot. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Manure spreader broke again. David Congdon stopped in awhile. Great day. Real warm.

Church at 11:15 again, 65 out. No company today. Hot, 90°. Had a pork roast for supper. Tommy Kavanaugh died in Syracuse of bee sting. He was 47, has 2 boys and 2 girls.

Merrill and Jim Ashley put in vanity at Aunt Maude’s and Cheryl’s. Took most of day. I washed clothes. David Congdon here for supper. Nice visit. Mary Hall called. Lorraine is in hospital. Infection from tooth.

Sunday School paper drive. Merrill helped in AM. Merrill went to dump twice. Took a load from parsonage in PM. He stopped at Evelyn’s. Ivan is coming home today. Paro and Annie Keichle’s 65th anniversary. Raining on and off all day.

Open House and celebration at church and parsonage. Rev. Owen at church for Celebration of Beginnings ceremony. About 100 at open house. All very nice. Jim’s here for supper. Kenny and Jeff Rudes here in PM.

Church Evangelical meeting at Pulaski, 7:30. Catherine, Alice, Jane, Bea and 5 from Mill went. 150 present. Vern and June there, also Larry Corey. Merrill helped build fence at Carl’s. Merrill finished mowing lawn.

Vern’s 46th birthday. Washed. Nice day. Warm. I’m tired today. Catherine asked me to go to cluster meeting but I decided not to go. Vera R. went.

Agway stuff arrived, $30.84 (peas, peaches, cherries) Rebekah election, 10 at lodge. Same officers elected. Merrill took car to Joe’s for wheel bearing, $64.60. Mary called. Lorraine has been critical but is improving. she is out of ICU.

We voted in primaries. We went for groceries. Merrill finished insulating back room. I canned tomatoes. Carl Horton here. Lew Leberman and Mario Cuomo won nomination for Governor.

Merrill painted back room. I wrote Lorraine Pickert at hospital. My arthritis real bad today.

UMW District Meeting at Pulaski. None from Philadelphia went to it. Lorraine Pickert called from hospital. She is feeling much better. Steve is at Star Lake for a weekend with Focus program. Merrill washed and put on storm windows. Beautiful day in the 70’s

We went to church, 56 out. A beautiful day in 70’s. Carol and Roy Matteson have baby girl, Naomi Joy, 8 pounds, 13 ounces, born at 11 PM.

Raining again. We went to city. I had my Blue Cross changed to go with Medicare coverage. Called Ridsdale’s about check. Cooked beets.

Canned 7 tomatoes and 7 beets. A great day. 70’s. Sunny all day.

Another great day. We went for groceries. Merrill started fixing rust spots on car. He put ballast on light for Horton’s in evening. Rev. Salisbury called. She is back from Pastor School.

Cyanide found in Tylenol cap. Batch found at Fays Drug Store. Sent card and letter to Bea Gehm. Merrill took checks to bank. We canned 7 quarts of carrots. All we had this year. Made chili. Raining.

Rocky and Tammy Slate have baby boy, Benjamin Tyler. Another nice day but cooler. There has been seven deaths from cyanide Tylenol capsules. Cactus has two blossoms. Washed clothes. Merrill finished car. Put stripe on back.

A great day, 71°. We went to church, communion today, 60 there. Nice. Jim’s here for supper. Jill is wearing glasses. Just got them. Kenny and Jeff here. Cactus has 3rd blossom. Cheryl gave Merrill flannel shirt.

Merrill mowed lawns. A beautiful day. Administrative Board meeting at parsonage. 9 out. church owes about $5000 in all for rest of year.

Bea Gehm’s birthday. Another great day. Merrill went to Mills and he painted on parsonage porch in PM. Got letter from Vern’s. Art and Doris Haggerty’s 30th anniversary.

We worked at parsonage all day. Merrill painted porch, cemented wall and garage floor etc. Alice, Sina, and I worked all day on mailing list. We didn’t go to Ponzi’s in evening. They had asked us. Nice day.

Paid school taxes, $341.83. Cheryl went back to work. UMW at parsonage. Good meeting. Olive Sharp there also. We folded Newsletters and got them ready to send tomorrow. June R here awhile. Raining. Jane Dinman’s birthday.

Rev. Salisbury left early this morning for Drew University. Unemployment rate is 10.1% in US. Merrill cleaned church and did some work at parsonage. Steve and 4 boys from Potsdam and Clarkson stopped in on way home to Oswego. Wrote Don’s.

Merrill started wood fire for first. No school or mail. Got Times. Merrill drove tractor at Horton’s all day. Agway brought first fuel oil, 67.5 gal @ $1.20. Canadian Thanksgiving. Hotels and motels packed.

World Series starts tonight, St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. Made cookies. Merrill put wood down cellar. He worked at Horton’s in PM. Washed clothes. Ironed my long skirt. Brewers, 11-0

I returned Boot’s dog tag to Albany. Merrill worked at Horton’s. St. Lewis Cardinals won World Series. Very windy. Leaves blew away. Wrote note to Jim’s. Washed. Line broke. I had rectal bleeding in evening.

Steve got here about 2 PM. Vern’s got here at 4:30. Merrill cleaned house. Gary, Linda and kids left for Florida.

We had birthday supper for Steve. Gail Myers here also. Jim’s didn’t make it. Vern’s and Gail left about 7:30 for home. Nice day. Called Jim.

We went to church. Steve went with us, 82 there. Very nice. Quiet day. Steve and grandpa slept all PM. Steve went back to Potsdam about 6:30. Rode with girl from Mexico, Brenda.

Merrill worked at Horton’s. I washed bedding and clothes. A beautiful day. Horton’s finished corn. Marty Paro’s 13th birthday. He brought us cake. Steve is 18 today.
