Cold sunny and windy. Chuck Heck has 14 hour operation in California having lymph glands put in his leg from his stomach. Merrill went to Carthage with Howard. merrill went over town to store, bank, and post office. Got letter about Carl’s estate from Lyon’s surrogate.

Cold, -10° last night. Chuck Heck’s operation lasted 10 1/2 hours. He is in coronary care unit as a precaution. Aunt Maude went out to see Cheryl. She hasn’t been up yet. Annie Keichel called me.

We went for groceries. It started to snow in PM. Stormy in evening, sleeting

World Day of Prayer at CEC. A nice program by Carol and Cheryl about 40 there. Lots of Catholics. Also priest. and Rev. Barnes. I’ve had diarrhea all day.

Beautiful day. We went to landfill. Stopped at Millicent and ivan Hales. Pat and baby and Evelyn were there. Sent Uncle Berl birthday card and not. Got letter from him. Sandy Fagan and Andy here. Are up to get their truck.

We went to church. 68 out. Got $206.25 for Chuck Heck love offering. Aunt Maude didn’t go to church.

Nice day but cold. Washed clothes. Sent Chuck Heck card. merrill went to store. Grace Matheau’s 73rd birthday

Snowing. Got letter from June and Vern. Joey’s 8th birthday.

Rebekah’s. diane and I on Committee. Sandwiches and pickles, 11 present. Vern goes to Granite until Sunday. Wrote Angie and Orv. Used last of our wood.

Wrote Vern’s. Much warmer 45°. We went for groceries. Aunt Maude called to say Angie has been in hospital since Feb. 22. Garmon and Pauline to see Cheryl. Cheryl is walking on crutches.

Very foggy last night and all forenoon and most of afternoon. Got letter saying HEAP program will pay Agway $140. for fuel. Planted tomato seeds. Made cookies.

53° in early morning. Gave Boots bath. Clouds and rainy day. Merrill saw his first robin this year. Washed clothes. Merrill ran cleaner. Sent order to Lane Bryant for coat and dress s. First order to them. merrill got hair cut at Theresa. Eleanor came about 9:15 PM

Eleanor left for Canada this morning. We went to church, 67 out. Very nice. cheryl Ashley got home from hospital this PM. She was there 6 weeks and 4 days.

Another beautiful day. Merrill took car to garage. They will fix breaks tomorrow. Took cuffs off beige and lavender slacks.

I called Angie at Mercy Hospital. She sounds very weak. Bob Griffin and Vera R called about church mimeograph machine. Joe couldn’t fix breaks as he has to get part from Gouverneur.

Sugar snow in morning. Part for car didn’t come. Got thank you card from Sandy Creek Methodist Church for Oren Barker’s memorial donation.

Got groceries. Beautiful spring day. We went to city. Took church mimeograph machine to Stockers to be re paired. We went to see Angie in Mercy Hospital. she doesn’t look good, very thin. Saw Jim on street. Patty’s mother has an apartment in Watertown Towers. May move in this weekend. Took out dry cleaning. got blood pressure pills at Fays

Friday evening church service starts. We went. Aunt Maude went also. 14 there. Joe put new brakes, master cylinder on car, $52. Cheryl Ashley b ought new Buick 4 door car.

First day of spring. 31° in morning, cloudy. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned floors. Got card from Howard and Evelyn from Florida.

We went to church 77 out. Rev Owen attended church today. Nice service. Jim and Pat and kids here when we got home. Raining in PM and evening. Audrey not into her apartment yet.

Merrill’s 73rd birthday. Got screw driver he wanted. Randy H here. Merrill had called from Vern and June, Gloria and Gladys. Columbia space ship made 3rd space launch okay at 11 AM

Administrative Board at CEC. 12 out. Aunt Maude, Merrill and I went to hospital to see angie. Got dry cleaning. Stopped to see Cheryl on way home. got new car coat (rust color) from Lane Bryan. Merrill got cards and not from Vern’s, Gehm’s, and Simond’s.

Rebekah’s, 9 out. didn’t get into hall until late as Kiwanis had supper there. My arms hurting bad. I planted cabbage plants and transplanted tomato plants to cups. Mrs. Elwood Gardner died during night of heart attack.

We went for groceries in AM. Sent sympathy card to Drakes. Washed clothes. Washed Merrill’s rain coat. Merrill washed car. Nice day. Rained in evening. They arrested Shawn Williams, 16, for Philadelphia bank robbery charges.

Cold in morning. Snowed some. My arms very sore. We didn’t go to Bible study. Called Aunt Maude.

Still cold, 15° snowed last night. cold wind. Merrill ran cleaner.

Men’s communion breakfast at church. 105 there. Toby M and son there, first time. We went to church, 74 there. Carl Bennett helped with service, Ruth Gardner’s brother.

Nice day. Warmer in the 40’s. I made a beef stew. Washed and ironed closet curtains. Columbia didn’t land because of high winds.

Merrill turned water and heat on at church. Beautiful day in the 50’s. Columbia landed from 3rd trip into space at 11 AM. All okay.

Another beautiful day but windy in 60’s. Wrote Vern’s. My arms very sore. Thunder and lightning storm about 6 PM. Washed clothes. Women cleaned church
