A lazy day. Watched the parade on TV. Merrill helped Roy Matteson take down Nativity at church as the wind damaged it last night. Vernon called in evening. Eleanor, Roberta, Luke and Tammy in Florida

I called Grace T. Carl at Leslie’s. Vern’s got to Jan and Jim today. Nice day but cold. 10° in the morning. Jim’s here in PM and for supper. Jim went over to Rudes. Martin hurt his leg with snowmobile. Jim took him to hospital. Kenny came back with him.

We went to church. 75 out. Great service. Cloudy day. I called Sandy Fagen. They are to report to Indian Town Gap January 26th. Edie is Okay.

Schools closed because of freezing rain in morning. Very windy all day. Temperature 47°. Power off over 2 hours in evening. Pole fire toward Evans Mills

Millicent Hale returned home today by ambulance from Crouse Irving, Syracuse. Merrill went with Howard to get shavings. Got tax notice $307.76 up $40.00. Got letter from Uncle Berl.

Ken’s 62nd birthday. He starts getting social security. Merrill went with Terry to get load of wood at Carthage. Nice day. Called for Dr. Robert’s appointment.

Washed clothes. Went for groceries. UMW at Cindy Marisus’. First time at her house. 16 there. Mrs. Barnes has program. Merrill got hair cut ($2.00 for senior citizens) and also got groceries. He helped Horton’s take down church tree.

Dr. Robert’s 11 AM. Blood pressure 140/102. Had lab tests at hospital. Saw Esther at hospital. Merrill got new tan 3 piece suit at Richard’s going out of business sale. $300 for $60. Horrible snow storms at Oswego and Mexico. None here. Nice day.

Got 2 inches of now during night. Oswego still getting it. Wrote Vern’s. Merrill cleaned church and put in candles. he ran cleaner here. I hemmed curtains in dining room. Bill Mowers sister dies today.

Stormed all night. All schools closed in Jefferson County. Water pipes froze in morning but got them thawed soon. Hard to keep the house warm the wind is so cold. Patty called in evening. Her Uncle Bill died today in Rochester of heart attack. Carl went to Rochester hospital.

-30° last night. Below zero all day but a sunshiny day. Merrill went over town. I baked beans and cookies. Got letter from June and Vern. Bea Gehm is in Rochester. Vern goes to Albany today until Sat. Steve has his first job at Burger King.

Rebekah’s. I didn’t got. I talked with Esther. Steve starts work at Burger King. Jim’s and Audrey went to Rochester. We went to Sackets and stayed with kids. We got home about 10 PM. Jim’s went by 104 but came home Thruway because of bad roads.

Dr. Robert’s called. My blood count is up to 13. Blood looks real good. We went for groceries. Got letter from Melba. Carl entered Rochester hospital last Monday, the 12th. 30th anniversary of Today show on TV. 

Wrote Melba and Elmer. got letter from Cameron’s. Sent clipping of their cold weather. 28° in Melbourne. Washed my hair and showered. Ralph Hogaboom had leg off at knee in Oswego Hospital.

Wrote Beula and glenn. Stormy. windy, blizzard in PM. Lots of cars off roads. Mail went but no Times delivered. Washed clothes.

Merrill went to church. 47 out. I didn’t go because it is too cold for my arthritis. Aunt Maude not shoveled out on time. Rev. Barnes started confirmation classes in PM. 20 with Evans Mills and Philly.

Beulah Congdon’s 70th birthday. Very cold still, 110° last night and up to 10° above during the day. sunny. Merrill sued cleaner. Slight earthquake in evening, 4.8 on the Richter scale. We didn’t feel it. Merrill went to the dump.

Still cold but nice sunny day. Only up to 15° during day. Merrill went over to church and got snow blower going. Barnes left kitchen light on in Parsonage when they left.

Beautiful day. Much warmer 18°. Wrote Vern’s. Got letter from them. Steve has been accepted at Potsdam College. Dan got his teeth braces Monday. I have diarrhea again.

Below zero again last night. Cold all day. Merrill went over to CEC in evening to meet man about electric heaters for there. We went for groceries in PM. Got letter from Florence and Carl. Carl S called in evening. Ralph Hogaboom had his left off last Friday.

Jim’s 14th year on Watertown Police Department. Still cold down to -4° during night. Washed clothes.

Very stormy about all day. Some warmer. Merrill shoveled driveway in the e evening. Gave $5.00 to firemen. Wrote Don’s. Sent fuel rebate application.

Snowing and blowing hard. We didn’t go to church. 42 out. Lots of churches closed. No church at Evans Mills. Called Jim’s. Grace T. Called. Carl coming home from hospital this week. He has cancer in the bone also.

Sunny but cold. Below zero most of the day. Merrill used snow blower on our driveway and Kathy’s.

Ed and Sandy Fagan’s report to Indian Town Gap Camp. Administrative Council at Marge Heck’s. Cheryl and Jim Ashley in accident this morning on way in to work. Cheryl has broken hip and Jim broken rib. 12 out to board meeting. Voted to install 3 electric heaters in CEC paying $400.00.

Still very cold. -20° during night. Rebekah’s. 9 out to lodge. My arthritis seems so much better than usual. Leon getting married. got letter from Melba mailed Jan 19th.

The cold has finally let up. windy. we went for groceries. Merrill paid land taxes. $307.76. Got letter from eleanor. angie Haggerty is sick. Cheryl had pin put in hip. Furnace in parsonage not working right. Merrill over there several times. finally had Robbins.

Nice day. Sent cards to Carl Tryon and Cheryl. Merrill insulted at CEC furnace air vent. They are coming tomorrow.

Snowy. Merrill went over to CEC. Lathrop’s putting electric heaters in CEC. He changed thermostat at parsonage again. Jim, Patty, Joel here for supper. Girls stayed with Audrey. Phone out in evening.

Carl Scee called last night. Florence Hogaboom in Rochester for further cancer tests. Wrote Uncle Berl. Sunny day so 6 more weeks of winter. Ha. Washed. Ground Hog day.

Clinic. My blood count 13.25. Blood pressure 158/192. Merrill’s 130/72. We took Aunt Maude to see cheryl. She seems fine. Jim went to Dr. Fish. He is coming OK. Got groceries at P & C. Raining all day but warm. I called Beulah. Angie had pneumonia at Christmas time.

Wrote Vern’s. Joey came over to show us his report card. Very good.

Merrill balled Robbins to rewire furnace at parsonage. Washed clothes. Merrill cleaned driveway. Noreen called to say Lyle Hanson went to hospital by ambulance February 1st. His 52nd birthday. Has cancer. Nice day.

First Sunday church in CEC to save fuel. 59 out. All went very well. Mrs. Barnes has new electric guitar. She and Rev B sang. Cold and windy all day. I called Don’s. Karen in Michigan for college interview. She went with Macintosh family.

Dr. Scanlon 1:30. Good report. Aunt Maude went to city with us. We went to hospital to see Cheryl. She is not good. Has blood clot in lung. Snowy most of day. I started taking vitamin C and D. Grace called. Carl is in sodus hospital.

Very stormy. rebekah’s. We went but didn’t have meeting. merrill went with Terry to get wood. i called bank to transfer money to money market certificate. Beautiful day but cold. Very stormy in PM and evening. Isabel Hall died of heart attack this PM.

Elmer called to say Carl died at 4 AM. Leukemia. 53 years old. He called back to say visiting hours Sat. Funeral Sunday. We went for groceries. Called Jim’s and Vern’s. Talked with Marion. Lyle has cancer of lungs and liver.

We called at lee halls in PM. Aunt Maude went with us. Washed clothes. A nice day. My arthritis hurts today. Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Heck have baby. Matthew Charles, born in California today.

Joel’s 6th birthday. I called Patty. Jim called from city. He and Joel ski today at Fort Drum Scout-O-Rama. Nice day. Oren Barker 61 died of heart attack at home tonight. Isabelle Hall’s funeral. We went to it.

Called Barb Hogaboom Corbet. Florence gets him on weekends. Carl’s funeral 2 PM. Wolcott funeral home. we went with pat and Jim. Had dinner and supper at Vern’s. Vern, June went to Wolcott with us. Nice funeral. Eleanor called me at Jim’s to say Oren Barker died last night.

Called Jim. Beautiful day, thawing, 45°. We went to funeral home for oren with Jim and Joel. Arlene didn’t come for funeral. Howard H called and invited us down but we were too tired.

Terry and Pat hall have baby girl, Deanne Millicent, 8 lb. Oren Barker’s 61 funeral at Sandy Creek Methodist Church. Vern and June and Jim there. Large funeral. We stopped at Orv and Angie’s. Angie very weak. Had supper at Don’s. Got home about 8:30. A beautiful spring like day. Thawing.

Terry called at 12:15 AM to say they had a baby girl. Pat in labor 41 hours. Had Robbins to help with toilet. Nice day but colder.

Another beautiful day. 40° We went for groceries. Merrill and Horton’s put railing on at CEC, Made chili. Joey was over.

Jill’s 7th birthday. Cloudy day. Washed clothes. Merrill and Horton’s finished fixing other railing at CEC, Wrote letter to Bowman’s. Snowy and wet.
