Sent checks to Dr. Runge, Dr. Ikin, Blue Cross and Readers Digest. Called Dr. Roberts but he didn’t come to phone. Wrote Vern’s. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM. Got letters from Uncle Berl, and Melba. Cactus plant has 2 blossoms.

Raining in morning. Nice most of PM. Washed our bedding and clothes. Ray called about 2 PM. Marg bad. I drove to Horton’s and we went to hospital about 3 PM.

Church 11:15 again. Sunday School starts. Also Senior choir. 53 out to church. Merrill left hospital at 3 AM. Roy and I stayed all night. Merrill and I went to Sackets for supper. Didn’t stay at hospital for night. Roy and Arlene went home also.

Blood clinic at Legion. I have donors giving blood in my name, Ken Trand Jr.,[?] Bruce and Kathy Rosbrook. Cheryl called. Marg a little better. I’m to stay at hospital tomorrow.

Spent day at hospital with Roy. Marg breathing better. Merrill took me out and came after me. He helped Carl all day at Mills.

Marg died at 5:30 this morning. Arlene called. I called Doris, Marion, and Aunt Maude. We went to Don’s and Beulah’s. Roy, Arlene, Pauline and Garmon ordered flowers. They got everything done. I called Vern in evening.

Pastor Parish meeting Philadelphia, 8 PM. All members present. Quick’s are going to Little Falls, New York.

Frank brought first fuel oil @ $1.21. Marg’s funeral 1 PM. Piddocks. Lots of flowers and people. Rev. Carlson gave a nice service. Loren and Vera Strader only ones from Canada. We got home about 9 PM. We went to H&R Block on way about state tax.

Merrill put new element in water heater at parsonage. He mowed our lawns when he got home. I’m tired today. Sent Vern card, letter, and $5. Sent reservations for Diane’s wedding.

We went to church, 71 out. Rev Quick announced he is leaving Philadelphia October 1st. Goes to Little Falls. Jim’s and Audrey here for supper. Joel put oil in gas tank.

Vern’s 45th birthday. Washed clothes. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM. Sent $25 to Dr. Miriam for eye consultant [?].

Rabies clinic. Merrill took Boots up for shot. Lots of dogs and cats there. Raining.

Furnace blower isn’t working at parsonage. Raining hard all day. I went to nutrition dinner. Joyce Wood took my blood pressure, 148/98. I started back on blood pressure pills. Merrill fixed toilet at Horton’s. Pastor Parish meeting at Mills. Alan and Gl [?] Barnes to fill in preaching. Nice meeting.

Went to Agway for peas and cauliflower. Went to bank. Merrill worked at Horton’s. Wrote Uncle Berl and Olive Bowman. Sent $624 for anesthesia bill. Merrill called Robbins again.

Sent school tax $201.86. Nice day for a change. Merrill worked at Horton’s. We went for groceries at noon. Joyce Percell here selling calendars. Carl Scee called. He didn’t go to Florida as he had slight stroke the night before he was to leave.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Cloudy and rainy. I washed clothes. Made cake and cupcakes. My arms are very sore today. Sent money, $7.98 for CBC test.

Leah and Claude’s 45th anniversary open house. We went over late in day. Gave them key wall plaque. Rained hard. The Quick’s last Sunday here. We went to church. Only 65 out. Dingman’s baby girl baptized. I didn’t feel good in evening.

Audited Lodge books at Fire Hall. I was on committee. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Sun out all day but very cold wind.

Freezing, white frost last night, 27°. Merrill helped load U-Haul at parsonage. Merrill worked at Horton’s in forenoon.

The Quicks leave and the Barnes arrive. We saw the Quicks off. Barnes got here 1 PM. We helped at parsonage. UMW at Doris Haggerty’s. Marilyn and I on refreshments. I had devotions for Carol. 21 present. Mrs. Barnes went also. Claire Zufelt had a bad stroke. Lyla called.

Merrill, Carl, Randy, and Larry set up staging at church to install fans. Raining all day. Washed clothes. Got letter from Vern’s. Loaned my Typewriter to minister.

Diane Hanson and Ronnie Casler wedding, Brownville and Dexter. We went with Cheryl and Aunt Maude. A large wedding. Very nice. Rained about all day. Jim’s here while we were gone. Moved plants in from porches.

World Wide Communion. Rev Barnes first time with us. Social hours after church. 91 out to church. Nice service. Just about everyone stayed for Social hour. We spent PM at Aunt Maude’s. Had apple pie with her. Vicky, Scott and friend there also. Ordered Bell from Scott.

Dr. Scanlon, 10:15. All OK after my trip to hospital. Good to hear. Merrill got 4 bags cement and 2 gallons of Restone. Didn’t see Clara and Roy as we couldn’t find a parking place at the hospital.

Dr. Roberts, 11 AM. Blood pressure, 138/90, blood count 11. He took me off blood pressure pills and Tylenol. We stopped at Samaritan Keep. Clara had eyes open. Roy and Arlene there. Had lunch with Beulah. Rained all day. Philadelphia installs Mill’s. Pres. Anwar Sadat of Egypt shot.

Merrill washed storm windows. Rained hard all day. My arthritis bad. Philadelphia installs Garland.

Merrill put on storm windows. Wrote Melba and Elmer. Washed clothes. We went for groceries. I washed kitchen curtains and windows. Merrill cleaned furnace pipes. Lorraine left hospital.

Called Dr. Roberts. Washed clothes. Washed dining room curtains. Merrill washed the windows. Had wood fire for first. Feels good.

Merrill put storm windows on parsonage. Took stuff to dump. Merrill pulled beets and carrots. Sun out all day for the first time in weeks. Cold wind. Made boiled dinner. Good.

Lyla Ashley’s birthday. Another nice day. Had frost last night. We went to church. Rev. Johnson preached. Car quit by Big M. Pin broke on shift lever. Jim Ashley fixed it. Jim, Pat, and kids here for supper. Jim put shocks in his car.

Another nice day. Leaves falling fast. I washed all my clothes. Merrill put two piles of wood down cellar. Columbus Day. No school or mail. Paper delivered.

Rebekah’s Installation by Depauville, Dollie Switzer. 55 present. Vicky Flynn NG, Anne Eg VG, I’m chaplain. A very nice day. Merrill put all the wood he could down cellar. Cellar full. Got thank you pictures from Lorraine and Kevin Pickert.

Dr Roberts 10:30. Blood pressure 132/80. Not to take any medications. We got six cement blocks at Concrete place 6 @ $1.90. Got groceries. Philadelphia installs Theresa.

Rev. Barnes here for typewriter. Merrill worked at cellar wall. Vern, June, and boys got here about 5:30. My arms very sore. Vern’s brought us apples.

Men worked at chimney. Put base in. Went to Mills for cement. Steve took us for ride. They left for home after supper. Rev. Barnes called. He married Noel Cooke and Barbara [?]ide in evening at parsonage.

Very windy and rainy. We went to church. 75 out. Very nice service. Carl Scee called. Also Dorothy. Florence has had a breast removed. Ralph has to have leg off. Jim’s here for supper. Rev. Barnes brought typewriter home.

Aunt Maude’s 76th birthday. She has throat dilation today. Washed clothes. Merrill went to Mills for cement. Snow flurries in places today.

World Series starts tonight, 8 PM. Yankees and Dodgers. We canned 7 quarts of carrots. Got Blue Cross check for $21..

Cooked beets. Raining. My arms very sore and lame. Yankees won second game.

We went for groceries. Merrill and Boots went to Antwerp for belt for furnace blower, $3.98. Canned 7 quarts of beets and froze 4 packages. Still raining. Talked with Evelyn. Millicent has been in Bay Hospital for 2 weeks. Washed clothes.

Sent card, letter, and $5 to Steve. Dodgers won game. Sent Millicent Hale card in Bay Hospital. Raining as usual. We went to city for stuff for chimney, $115.08. Have to go after 24 blocks yet. I went to Stanley Party at Aunt Maude’s. 7 there. Church gets $75.

Nice day but cold. Merrill cleaned church. Rev. Barnes called in evening. Dodgers won game. Washed clothes. Merrill put door handle on back door. Latch won’t work.

Steve’s 17th birthday. Back on standard time. We went to church, 92 out. Jim, Pat, and kids here for supper. They brought us a gallon of cider. Rev. and Mrs. Barnes called. Mrs. Barnes gave children’s story today. Dodgers won game.

Raining. My arms very painful today. Merrill went up to Horton’s. Debby Hanson had 2 lb, 15 oz baby boy. Kyle Philip. They took him to Upstate Medical in Syracuse.

Agway dinner. Fed 419 @ $5. cleared $655 each. We went. Good ham dinner. Jim and Pat here for lunch. Brought ladders. Bad fire at White’s Lumber last night. Arson. Merrill and Randy went after our chimney blocks. Ethan and Cindy have baby boy born today. Benjamin Ethan, 7 pounds 2 ounces.

Rebekah’s. 14 out. Merrill worked at chimney some. Still rainy. Dodgers won World series from Yankees. 4 games to 1.
