Roy and Marg Pitkin’s 50th anniversary. Lots of bees in door again today. I called Marg and Roy’s anniversary into WNC2 with my first toll free call to city. Merrill took car out to Sears. They think it’s the battery. Let him use one of theirs until Thursday.

Had new brake linings put on rear wheels at Joe’s’ Auto, $45. Merrill dug rest of beets and carrots. He cleaned church. Halloween, 30 kids here. Marilyn and kids here. Washed. Beautiful day and evening.

B-12 shot. We took car to Sears in morning. Battery was OK, also alternator. Got groceries at Super Duper and P&C. Merrill worked at Halls’ in PM. I have felt horrid all day.

Vern’s appointment with Dr. Scanlon 4 PM. They came out here afterwards. Stayed all night. Carleton Bacon’s funeral today (Elsie’s son). Got home at 3:30. Got letter from Beulah. She is at Ken’s. Merrill worked at Hall’s. Paid him $254.50.

Beautiful day. Vern, June and boys left about 2:30. Steve lost his jackknife but found it again. Ordered part for stove from Sears. I got my first Social Security check, $107.30.

We went to church. Went down to Patty’s for supper. Jim is hunting at Boy Scout Camp. Talked with Beulah M. Marg and Roy have had closing on house.

Merrill worked at Hall’s. Washed clothes. Also bedding from upstairs. A great day. The bees are thick today. 61°

Election. We voted at 5:45 PM. Numbers 191 and 192. Merrill worked at Hall’s all day. Wrote Beulah Hall. Nice day. Rained in evening.

Clinic. I went. Aunt Maude went with us. My blood count down to 10.7 again. Blood Pressure 128/84. We went over to Aunt Maude’s in evening to see about wiring.

Charge Conference, Evans Mills. We went. New DS, Leonard Owen there. Very nice. About 25 there. Called Jim at police station for first time. I called Elsie Bacon. Merrill worked at Aunt Maude’s. Got 124 gallons of fuel oil.

Dr. Roberts, 10:30 AM. I’m to take B-12 shot once a week. Gave myself one in evening. We stopped at Orv’s. Called Juanita and Florence Yerdon. I had CBC at hospital. Went to Sackets for Jolie and Jill. Got 2 pizzas from Esther.

Merrill went to Sackets to help on house. Stayed all night. Darcy and Joey here to play. We made cookies. Rainy.

Rainy. Girls and I went to church. Esther came and got us. We went to Sackets with Esther and Kay. I came home with Merrill. They got paneling on.

Merrill worked at Aunt Maude’s all day. Tired out when he got home. No mail. Veteran’s day. Paper went.

Agway Ham supper. We went. 476 paid @ 5. I made 2 lemon pies for it. Wrote Vern’s. Merrill slept most of day. He is tired out.

Rebekah’s. Snow flurries for first. Sent for car license. Wrote Uncle Berl. Washed clothes. Gave myself B-12 shot. Dr. Roberts called. I’m to take iron caps other than at meal time. Got groceries. Got turkey @.48.

Wrote Houser Studio about church windows. Merrill finished wiring for Cheryl at Aunt Maude’s. Snow flurries off and on. Washed my hair.

Becky T here with owl ornament. I bought it to help their 4-H club, $3.75. Made roast and oven supper. Merrill home all day. Cold all day, 20°

Jim here on way to woods. Picked up Kenny after Kathy Rona’s wedding. I called Patty in AM. Merrill went to dump. Compeau put storm window on at CEC. Howard and Evelyn brought battery charger in evening.

We went to church. Patty and kids here for dinner and PM.

We went to Don’s. Went to Marg and Roy’s new home. They are all moved in. Very nice. Got filter and short hose for car at Goslin’s. Got slacks and blouse at McCrowery’s. Merrill got pants. I went to PNG at Carrie Thompson’s in evening.

Merrill went to Jim’s to work. Put on ceiling in girls room. I washed clothes. Got letter and cards from Vern’s, Marg’s, Gehm’s, and Evelyn Scee. She and Carl have moved to an apartment in city. Curtis apartments.

My birthday, 62. Thanksgiving Eve service at Philadelphia church. Got groceries, B-12 shot. Beautiful day. Got card and letter from Uncle Berl. Washed my hair.

Thanksgiving. We went to Jim’s. Vern’s and Bob Puffer there also. Grand time together. Rained all day.

Elsie Bacon’s 92nd birthday. Eleanor called in morning. Jim Bowman died last night. We went to city. Went to see Carl and Evelyn’s new apartment. Only Evelyn home. Talked with Marion and Dorothy Hogaboom. Talked with Aunt Maude. Like summer, 60-65°

Jim Bowman’s, age 84, funeral at 2 PM at Winchester. [Canada] Ken, Eleanor, Pauline, Aunt Maude, Merrill and I went. Large funeral. We went to Larane and Vicks [?] afterward. Raining all day. Got back here about 7 PM.

We didn’t go to church. Went to Jim’s all day. Got a lot done on addition.

Administrative Board at Esther’s. Rained all day. Very warm, 70°. Got Special Delivery Letter from Hauser Studio, $1.68 postage due.

Called in Christmas order to Wards. Rained all day. Man supposed to call about church windows but didn’t call.

Rebekah’s, 13 there. Gave myself B-12 shot. Washed clothes. Washed my hair. Sent Christmas order to Pennys.

Merrill went to store. Lazy day.

First real snow storm this fall. Bad Lowville and Adams way. Jim called. Was bad in city. Joey stopped by. Very stormy here in evening. Windy some. Mr. Morris didn’t deliver the Times.

Almost a foot of snow on ground this morning. Merrill used snow blower. I washed Merrill’s clothes. UMW Bazaar at Fire Hall.

We went to Sunday School and church. Car quit twice. Clarence Schell got us going with boosters. Nice but cold.

Man called twice about church window. Beautiful day. Merrill took car to Goslin’s at Adams. Had new voltage regulator on it, $50. He stopped at Beulah’s. Marg and Roy haven’t water working yet. Got Social Security Check. Got groceries. Called Marg in evening. They are working at their water pipes.

We went to city shopping about all day. Saw Mary. Lynn’s may have sold farm to Percy Pratt. Sure tired when we got home. Got first Christmas card, Terry and Pat Hall.

Wrote Vern’s. Got letter from them. Got 2 more Christmas cards. Windy day but warm. My arms very achy today.

Patty goes into hospital for D&C. She called in evening. Her room is 212. Got groceries in AM. UMW Christmas meeting at Esther’s. 16 there. Merrill put up first decorations. Candles etc. Got $10 from Dot.

Patty had operation. She has a large tumor to be operated on later. Jim brought Jolie and Jill out in morning. Merrill and Ray put up Nativity at church. Patty called in evening.

Merrill cleaned church. Cold windy day. Kids got us up at 5 AM. Patty went home from hospital.

We went to church. Joel and Jill were so good. We took them home after lunch. Patty not too peppy. Jim doing the work. Kids new rooms are nice. Stormy coming home. Very slippery.

Roy’s 76th birthday. I feel horrid. Have a cold. Merrill cleaned floors.

Got package from Pennys. Didn’t have Jolie and Jill’s gifts. Merrill went to Fargo’s and got tree, $2.75. Patty called to wish us a happy 44th anniversary. She is still weak. Warm. Spring like day.

My cold worse today. Not dressed at all. Rebekah’s and PNG Christmas party but I didn’t go. Sent scalloped potatoes with Ginny. They had ham.

Dr. Roberts 10:30. Blood count 10. Blood pressure 140/100. Gave me first iron shot in hip. Had CBC and iron taken at hospital, $27.74. Stopped at Ken’s. Tammy hurt her arm at school. Got package at Wards. Called Patty. Saw Jim on Square.

Sent Dot and Uncle Berl’s packages. $2.90 postage. Merrill cleaned Hall’s stove. Paid him $10. Also paid him $100 owed. Washed clothes. My cough better today.

Sent first Christmas cards. Merrill went for groceries. I baked cake and cookies. We went to Christmas party at Jim and Gloria Collins. Nice time. Big crowd.

We went to church. Merrill and I lit Advent Candles. We didn’t go to Sunday School program in evening. Slept all afternoon.
