Merrill worked at Jim’s all day. Got home at 4:30. I wrote Angie. Washed clothes. Jim goes to Kalorin’s party. Patty’s face very sore. 50° in morning. Aunt Maude, Cheryl, and Dorrs went to Canada. Cheryl Cross and Ray McKinney married today.

Sunday School starts. Closing in church. [?] We went to church, 94 out. Good to hear Rev. Cameron again after his vacation. We went to Bill and Vi’s for dinner. Nice day but cool wind. We ate inside trailer. Stopped to see Marion on way home. Jean not good.

Merrill made storm windows for laundry room. Warmer. Rained hard at supper time and in evening. I made cupcakes and small cake. Mrs. Morse brought bushel of tomatoes in place of corn. Mrs. Cameron called. Rev. Cameron has lost 100 pounds. He weights 260. She weighs 148.

Canned 14 quarts of tomatoes. Got letter from June. Jim Ashley got home from hospital.

Rebekah’s, 12 out. I washed clothes. Nice day. Beulah Hall is in hospital. Merrill got a letter from a Tryon in Massena. [see 9/15]

Merrill took stuff to dump. Took old freezer he tore apart. Merrill mowed all the lawns. Look nice. Very green yet. I’ve felt horrid all day. Hurt all over. No work done.

Vern’s. They got here about 7. Rained all night and today. End of hurricane Freddie. Cooked stuff for salads. Vern brought Merrill garage light, 8 feet long.

Vern’s left at 12 noon. Vern had meeting in city. Nice day after all the rain. Carl and Evelyn Scee stopped by on way to Dick’s. It is in tonight’s Times that Richard Peers, Massena, died Friday. We had letter from him Wednesday seeking information on his great grandmother, Rosanna Tryon.

We went to church, 72 out. Carl and Evelyn Scee here for supper on way home from Dicks. Nice day.

PNG’s, Aunt Maude’s. I was on committee. Had strawberry shortcake. Only six present plus Cheryl. I drove over but it was hard to see driving home. Got letter from Uncle Berl. His health is failing. He uses a walker now.

Gave Barb D a Tupperware order. Beautiful day. The cactus plant has 7 large buds on it. Linda was over to see it. Got letter from Beulah about having 50th anniversary party for Marg and Roy.

Uncle Berl called from California. Lettie Wood, 92 died at 4:30 this morning. My cactus plant had seven blossoms come out tonight. Linda was over to see it. Patty called.

Hard frost last night. First time this fall. Agway frozen food. Met Patty at Mills at 9:30. She, Jill, and Joel here for a few minutes. Got strawberries and peas. Sent Vern card, letter, and $5. Got letter from Beulah Hall.

Vern’s 43rd birthday. Lettie’s funeral in California. Just graveside services. Wrote Uncle Berl. Aunt Maude’s Stanley party for UMW. I didn’t go. Partly cloudy at times. 70°

B-12 shot. We went to Jim’s. Men got door cut through and two end windows in. Called Beulah Macklin’s. Got iron pills. Martin Landes here in evening.

Nice day. We went to church, 91 out. Merrill looked for sewer gas leak in PM. Needs repair in crawl space. Vern called from city in evening. He spoke at New Superintendent’s reception, Rev. Leonard Owen, Jr.

Administrative Board meeting here, 10 present. Gave them cheese cake. Merrill fixed kitchen sink drain. He went to Theresa twice. Washed clothes. A beautiful day, in the 70’s.

Another great day. Patty called in AM. Washed Merrill’s work clothes. We got down storm windows and washed and put on kitchen ones. Merrill puttied and painted rest. Called Laura for hair appointment.

Beautiful day. Warm. Merrill got rest of storm windows on except 1 in bedroom and 1 in attic. We went to store. Sent school taxes, $209. I went to Lodge elections. Virginia New NG, Nancy Wilcox VG, Anne Eggleston Sec, Jill Farrel Sec, and Esther Treasurer.

Pastor Parish meeting at Evans Mills, 8 PM. Raised minister’s salary $500. Got my hair cut at Laura’s. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa. Renewed Vern’s and our Readers Digest with Peter K. for seniors

Cloudy. The old feed mill on Irish Avenue burned about noon. Belonged to Jack Trembley. Merrill went to bank and got groceries.

Terry Hall and Patricia Bain wedding at Bay Catholic Church. Reception at Pine Tree Point. All very beautiful. We got home at 6:45 PM. Got Tupperware dish from Barbara’s Tupperware party. Was on porch when we got home.

We went to church. Went to Jim’s in PM and for supper. He has a 4 wheel jeep van.

Vi called Leah to take Pres of UMW. I called Jan for V President. Both will. Merrill started work on Hall’s barn. Debby and Rick’s parent left for home at 2 PM. Wrote Dr. Roberts.

Foggy last evening and all day. Merrill worked at Hall’s. I canned 6 quarts of carrots, whole. Washed my hair and showered. Washed clothes.

Wrote Mrs. Peer, Massesa. Sent Bea G birthday card. Merrill worked at Hall’s all day. Patty, Jill, and Joel here to get chain saw. Here for lunch. Cloudy but nice.

UMW at Margaret’s, 7:30. I went. 16 present. Got groceries. Beautiful day. In 70’s. Sent Mary card and letter. Finance Meeting at church, 8 PM. I didn’t go. Merrill worked at Halls. I went after him. Dentist appointment, teeth cleaned, 8 teeth, $8.

Rainy. Merrill worked at Halls. I washed clothes. Dr. Scanlon has changed my eye appointment to next Tuesday.

Sunday School paper drive. Merrill cleaned church. Didn’t work at Hall’s as they didn’t bring gravel. Windy and rained in AM, but nice in PM.

Communion. 94 out at church. Rainy and cold wind. Called Jim’s. Put plants in house from porch. Watched Pope Paul I from Washington DC. His last day here.

No mail. Times delivered. Merrill worked at Halls. I made lemon pie. Cold wind.

Dr. Scanlon, 10:30. No change, $25. Got iron capsules, 100 for $7.78. Dr. Roberts nurse called about druggist calling them. Need to take 3 pills a day. Called Beulah and Patty. Rainy and cold. Snow in Massena. First game of world Series called off because of rain.

Wrote Dot. Merrill worked at Halls. Washed clothes. Got letter from June and Marg. Virginia New and Evelyn Fowler here electioneering. Snowed in Washington, DC. None here. I went to Rebekah’s. Vern called in evening to say Ralph Hogaboom in ICU in hospital.

We went to Carl and Evelyn’s to tell them about Ralph being in hospital. Vern called again. Wrote Marg. Merrill worked at Hall’s. I put color rinse on my hair. Gary Belile in Florida this week.

B-12 shot. Wrote Beulah Hall in Deland hospital. Merrill worked at Hall’s all day. Washed clothes.

Cold and rainy. We got groceries at P&C and Super Duper. Went out to Lorraine. Marg’s and Don’s not home. Don was, but we didn’t go to barn. Stopped at Beulah’s and they all showed up there but Don.

Laity Sunday. Tracy Robertson has service. Very good service. 84 out. Patty, and kids here in PM and supper. Jim had PBA meeting. Showed film Scared Straight at Holy Family Church in evening.

Rainy. Merrill worked at Hall’s. Lots of bees in laundry room door.

Merrill worked at Hall’s. Sent invitation to Lorne Strader and Bowman’s. Cleaned laundry room, washed rugs. Made bean salad.

Merrill took car to Seaker’s, wheel bearing. We put lawn furniture away. Patty called. Jim didn’t make sergeant. Beautiful day. Warm, 65°. We went to Civic League covered dish supper. Bill and Vi went with us. They honored Ken Ridles [?] and Virginia New. Jim and Pat to it.

Jim’s Explorer group back pack on Whiteface Mountain. Beautiful day, 70°. Carl and Evelyn Scee stopped in for few minutes. Merrill put new window in at CEC. Gary Belile got home from Florida. Got nice letter from Dot.

We went to church. Another great day 75°. Patty and kids here for supper. Also Carl and Evelyn. Jim with Explorers on Whiteface Mountain.

A great day, 80°. Washed. Jim was on Tony Harblin show on WWNY. Merrill worked at Hall’s in PM until 8 PM. There is a beautiful red rose out on the small rose bush beside house.

Warm but windy. Gave Boots a bath. Merrill worked at Hall’s in PM until 4:30. We changed dirt on Boston Fern. It is 45 years old. Got letter from Vern’s.

Installation and covered dish at Lodge, 72 there. Virginia New NG, Nancy Wilcox VG, I’m Inside Guard, Antwerp Lodge installed us. Em. Robinson and staff. Merrill worked at Hall’s in PM. Got home at 5 PM. Doesn’t go back until Friday. Sent Steve card, letter, and $5.

Got note from June, coming Friday. Steve’s 15th birthday. We went to city. Got groceries and drugs, eye drops, needles, B-12, and iron pills. Called Beulah and Patty. Also got groceries at Big M. We spent evening at Hall’s playing 7-27.

Merrill worked all day at Hall’s. Cold. A few snow flurries. No school. Teacher’s meetings.

Party at Marilyn and Bob’s. We didn’t go. Made lemon cake for anniversary party. Sky Weaver here electioneering as councilman.
