Beautiful day. Ate outside. Larry Cross married today. We went over to Cooper’s. Old red cow ate our corn while we were gone. They are to give us 2 bushel of corn. Washed.

Tracy Robinson’s group, 27 of them, sang at church. Just great. Patty and kids here for day. Jim working at Fair all week. Linda gave us beans.

Hot. Merrill painted flag pole, steps, benches. I washed clothes. Administrative Board meeting at church. 11 out.

B-12 shot. Very hot. We washed and waxed car. Got letter from June. Hollis and Peggy’s, Danielle Hanson 9 lb, 2 oz born today.

We went to Fair. Bill and Vi went with us. Saw police dogs work out. Also Billy Jo Spears. Very hot. Sent Don and Mrs. Cameron cards.

Rained during night. Hot all day. We went to Vern’s. Stayed overnight. We went to Farmer’s Market with them. A very nice visit. Vern is remodeling their bathroom.

Mrs. Cameron’s birthday. We came home from Vern’s. Stopped at Ken’s. Peggy and Holly had baby girl. Got eye drops and iron pills. Merrill got hose sprinkler and chimney paint.

Washed clothes. Got groceries. Went to dump. Stopped at Mary Hall’s on way back. Sent $3 to Town and Country. Sent for Penny’s catalog. Hot and cloudy.

We went to church. Mrs. Cameron’s brother played musical saw. Mrs. Cameron played piano. Jim’s here for supper. Howard stopped by on way home. Mrs. Cameron gave us blue berries.

Merrill painted chimney white. Hot, 90°. Mrs. Cameron called in evening. Her brother fixed wiring in garage.

Diane Riley’s 49th birthday. Cloudy and muggy. Merrill put in storm glass window on back attic. Patty called. Jim was second place in Sergeants exam. Merrill went to Mills but couldn’t get lime. Thunder storm in evening.

Rained most of night. Merrill repaired hay rack for Carl Horton

Sent fire insurance, $173. Had CBC at hospital. Got groceries at P&C and fruit at Johnnies. Terrible humid and hot. Thunder storms in PM. Power off for 3 hours. Three trailers flattened at Garden Village.

We moved freezer to laundry room from front porch. Merrill and Boots took dollies back to Agway. Washed clothes. Froze green beans. Merrill mowed part of lawn. Hot and humid.

Civic Day at Philadelphia. Lots of things going on. Saw bed races for first time. We went over twice. Very hot. Beulah Hall called in morning. She’s coming Thursday for a few days.

Rev. Johnson has church service. Nice service but only 38 out. Patty and kids here in PM and for supper. Took home vegetables to can. Jim at an all day golf tournament.

Wrote Vern’s. Merrill mowed rest of lawns. Colder. I froze beans. I went to Cameron’s to get key etc. We went over to Aunt Maude’s in evening. Loren and Vera Strader was there for supper. Adam and Ruth Dorr there too.

Rev. and Mrs. Cameron leave for their son’s in Colorado. Esther took them to Syracuse. Merrill got hair cut. He got window glass and fixed storm windows at CEC. I made chocolate chip and date cookies. Stormed in evening.

Merrill put glass in CEC windows. I washed clothes about all day. Washed curtains and windows in kitchen. Merrill run cleaner. Got letter from Angie.

Beulah came in evening. Ken and Lois brought her. Merrill painted CEC windows. Got groceries. Got letter from June.

Rained off and on about all PM. Merrill painted CEC windows. Texas cactus had two blossoms in evening.

Cooler. Merrill went to Sackets to help Jim on house wall. Lazy day. Merrill painted on windows at CEC. Pauline Giltz very bad. Beulah called them.

Hollis’ 19th birthday. Cloudy and cool. Merrill went to church, 58 out. Rev. Johnson there. Beulah went to Lois and Joe’s for the day. We went to Sackets. Merrill helped Jim on wall. Had supper there.

Beulah called Mr. Bent in Antwerp about cemetery. Nice day. Washed. Beulah and I went to nutrition dinner at Fire hall. Very good. Jim called in evening. We have new neighbors in Whitmore house. Fort Drum family. Whitmore’s moved to Watertown.

Merrill worked at Jim’s. Got rest of wall in. Beulah called Ken’s. B-12 shot in morning.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Sent car insurance, $158. and light bill, $57.01. Rainy most of day. Merrill fixed light at parsonage study. We canned 7 pints of beans. Beulah cut them up. Vern called. They are coming Sunday night. Ken Hall called Beulah.

47° this morning at city. Lowest reading in USA. Washed clothes. Lois and Joe here in evening. We played cards.

Nice day. Ken and Lois came for Beulah. Had lunch before they left. We canned green beans. 7 pints.

Cloudy and raining by spells. Washed bedding. Made up all 4 beds. Merrill cleaned upstairs and down. I fixed Jell-O salad and pudding. My head hurt in evening.

Cloudy in AM. Cleared in PM. Pauline Giltz, 85 died at 4 AM. I called Beulah but she was out. Patty and kids here for supper. Vern, June and boys came about 4:15. Had been to Frank Smith’s for day.

Beautiful day. Had picnic lunch. Vern painted chimney. Men got dead limbs out of trees. Looks great. We all walked up to Child’s Falls. We went to funeral home for Pauline Giltz in evening.

Wrote Beulah Hall. Merrill set out 3 rows of strawberry plants. Got them at Mary Hall’s. Boys and I went fishing to Child’s Falls. Patty called.

Nice day. Merrill went to Jim’s to help all day. Boys went fishing in AM and PM.

Karen’s 15th birthday. We all went to Jim’s. Vern’s too. Boys went home. We brought girls home. Rained about 3 PM so men had to quit work on house. Got siding off and frame work up. Mrs. Morse brought 6 dozen corn.

Merrill went to Jim’s. Vern also came. He stayed all night. Girls and I went to Collins. Cloudy and rainy off and on all day. Froze 4 packages of corn. Got letter saying toll free to city starting October 28th.

Randy Horton and Elaine Gliesner wedding. Florence and Carl Yerdon came at noon. Merrill got home from Jim’s at supper time.

Florence and Carl left about 10:30 AM for Cranberry Lake. We went to Jim’s. Made anniversary cake for Vern and June. Joel and Jill came home with us. Patty has tooth ache.

Vern and June’s 19th anniversary. Raining. Merrill has cold. Ken, Eleanor, Tammy, Juanita, Karen, Donnie here for supper. Ken’s had been to Canada. Rest to Ogdensburg. Merrill mowed part of lawn.

Loren died in World Ward II, 35 years about today. Jim goes with Explorers to camp. Patty came after Jill and Joel. Patty took home vegetables to freeze. Merrill mowed rest of lawns.

Rainy, 80°. Muggy, thunder. I made two kinds of cookies and donuts. Merrill cleaned stove oven. I went to Alex Bay with Esther, Lois, and Carrie to Assembly President Marjorie Englied visit.

Made apple pies for freezer. My arms very sore today. Got invited to show for Pat Barns. We went for groceries.

Wrote Vern’s note. I put cement around kitchen sink. Guaranteed for 10 years. Sent Blue Cross and payment to hospital for CBC.

Vern’s, Oswego. Jim’s, Bob P, and us had nice day together . Celebrated Jim’s 36th birthday. June and Vern had cake for him. Rained hard in late PM and evening. Got home at 9:45. We rode with Jim. Gave him card and $5.

Watch MD Telethon all day. Jim on TV off and on all day. We called in $5 donation.

We went to city. Got eye drops and iron pills. Merrill got pants and I got 2 piece dress and brown skirt. Bill and Vi here in evening for ladder brackets. I signed up for my Social Security today. Will get $107 a month based on my income from Olga.

Pat Baine’s shower at Dawn’s. We went. Nice time. Terrible hot and muggy. School open. Merrill dug potatoes in garden, 1/2 bushel.

UMW. Mrs. Cameron, Alice, and I on refreshments. Larry Millen, 60 died. Alice there so can’t help on refreshments. I made 2 salads, crackers and cheese. 15 out.

Jim Ashley had operation. Called Jim’s in morning. Merrill cleaned church. I went over to Vivian’s. Ordered frozen food, 2 berries and 2 peas. We changed living room furniture around. Froze 6 packages swiss chard. Patty had two wisdom teeth out.
