We took down tree and decorations. Raining and warm, 50°. We went down to Pat and Lorraine’s in PM to a neighborhood party. Lynn Hall’s and their family, Jane and girls, Ponzi family there. Nice time. Put meat in house freezer as garage freezer is not working.

Merrill got Boots dog license at Philadelphia. We have water in cellar drain plugged in pasture. Merrill and Roy P took down Nativity at church. My arms have ached bad all day. Used my new heating pad from Vern’s.

Sunny here in morning but very stormy in other places. Schools closed. Not here. Storm in evening. Vote on school bussing passed by 15 votes. 79 kids more will be bussed. Howard and Evelyn called in evening. Debby and Rich drove home for Christmas. Hal is with Terry in Florida.

UMW at Mrs. Cameron’s. Postponed until next Tuesday. Ernie Buker, 62, died this morning. Very stormy most of day. Cleaned here in PM. Sent Ken card and letter.

Still stormy, Sandy Creek Adams, and Oswego way. Beautiful here but cold. Snowed in morning. Ernie’s funeral is Sunday. Remains at home. Marg went back into hospital.

Ken’s 59th birthday. Nice day. We went to Ernie Buker’s wake with Rebekah’s. Lula, Ruth and Aunt Maude went. Ruth Eggleston called in evening. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa. Mrs. Cameron called in evening.

Nice in morning but snowy rest of day. We went to church. Jim’s here in PM and for supper. Jim’s back is bothering him. Goes everyday for therapy. Ernie Buker’s funeral.

Merrill used snow bower for 2nd time this winter. Aunt Maude called to say Clara Zufelt told Lyla that Marg went back into hospital last week. She is broken out with sores. Typed letter to Angie. Merrill made step bench for Joel.

UMW, Mrs. Cameron’s. 15 out. Nice time. Snow let up about 8:20. Snowing and windy all day. Got thank you from Lindsey and Lynn Myers. We went to Joyce’s. Merrill put on dimmer switch for her. Also plug in. My arms are lame from using typewriter.

Rebekah’s. Only 12 out. Mary C made official visit. Snowed lightly about all day. Garmon Roggie’s mother died today. Made pumpkin muffins. Jay Larson, Sweden former exchange student is visiting across the street.

0° in morning. Lots of ground fog. Cold all day, but nice. We went to city. Got eye drops and iron pills at Fays. Saw Marg at hospital. She goes home tomorrow. Got groceries at P&C. Got letter from Vern’s.

Marg goes home again. Warmer some. We went down to Hall’s in evening. Played canasta. We got home at 2 AM. Terry and Pat came home from Florida Wednesday. They didn’t like Florida.

Freezing rain in evening. Trees covered with ice.

We went to church. Wind, snow, and rain and what have you today. No sunshine. Joy Larson returned to Sweden today. Jim, Pat and kids here for supper. Merrill gave Joel step stool he made him.

Washed clothes. PNG’s at Leah’s but I didn’t go. We went to first council of ministries meeting at Parsonage. Roy Matteson chairman. Merrill and L. Compeau, Sina, Marg Heck, Jane D, Cameron’s and us. Very snowy night. Got letter from Uncle Berl.

School closed because of snow. Whitmores dog hurt Boots real bad. Merrill had Boots on leash going to mail box. Merrill fell down on ice. Not hurt. Merrill worked at Howard’s in PM. Washed clothes.

Snowed all day. Merrill didn’t go to Howard’s. Got letter from Angie. New mailman, Dick Hall, Evans Mills, didn’t come until 5 PM.

Merrill shoveled driveway. Not too much snow. We went for groceries in AM. Boots better. Slept on our bed last night. Got letter from June. She has a form of arthritis in disk in neck. Merrill went to Theresa bank and hardware store. He cleaned church. Put new locks on CEC.

-13° this morning. Cold all day. I made chili. Washed my hair.

Mike White’s concert at 8 PM. State office building. On radio and TV also. Very good on radio. Jim’s here for supper. Darcy here for supper with Jolie. We went to Bill and Vi’s in evening. Merrill went down to Howard’s in PM. Jim too. Boots acted better when Jim’s came.

Freezing rain. We got to church. Only 55 out. Mills church was canceled. Wrote Vern’s in PM. Boots seems much better. Our tree limbs are touching the ground with ice.

Administrative Board meeting here. 11 out. Good meeting. Rev. Cameron had a meeting at Mills about Dwayne Watson going into ministry. Everything still icy. Boots better.

Tired today. Warmer but ice still on trees. Merrill took storm window to Parsonage. Put latch on CEC center door. Also glass in door. Counted storm windows. Ten. Patty called. Jolie went to Doctor Monday.

Rebekah’s, 11 out. Slippery and rainy in evening. Ice finally came off trees in PM. My arms are lame today. Got P&C Stock check, $37.45. Marg back in hospital.

Paid land tax, $234.74. Got groceries. Snowy and stormy all over. Got letter from Vern’s. They go to Granite Hotel, Catskills tomorrow for weekend. Vern is in charge of IA Conference so he has to plan it.

Vern’s go to Catskills for weekend. Merrill shoveled driveway when he got up. Not much in it. We went to Sackets. Had supper at Jim’s. Patty has the bug. Marg back in hospital. We stopped to see her on way home.

Merrill went to dump. Stopped at Hall’s. I baked cake and cup cakes. Warmer and thawing. Nelson Rockefeller age 70, died of heart attack last night.

We went to church, 92 out. Cloudy but not cold. Open House for Oren and Mildred Walts at Theresa but we didn’t go, 40 years married. Wrote letter to Arleen and Howard Decker.

Snowy all day. Washed three loads of clothes. Talked with Leah about UMW refreshments. Jim’s picture in Times about PBA Boy Scout trip.

Called Pulaski. Got B-12 shot at Marilyn’s. Went to store. Got pictures. Sent Deckers letter, 31 cents to Brazil. Spent PM with Lyle and Ceil Hall.

Sent $6 for Country Folks Paper. Sent check to Radiology, $23.00. Sent for Pennys catalog. Vivian was over for first time.

UMW at Vi’s. Leah and I on refreshments committee. Had muffins and Jell-O salads. 17 present. Nice meeting. Merrill went for groceries. Got 2 dozen eggs at Willis Halls at 75¢, large. June R sent pictures of girls. Got Vern’s card sent from Granite Hotel.

Sunny day but cold. Ground hog saw his shadow. Got letter from June.

Cold but just beautiful sunny day. Sat in sun on side porch. Made pumpkin pie. Merrill run cleaner for me. J B and Wanda Ravanery [?] had baby boy today, James B.

We went to church. Had coffee hour for first time, very successful. Jim’s came in PM. Storming terrible when they left. Patty called when they got home. Said Route 11 was terrible.

Dr. Roberts, 12 noon. Blood pressure, 157/102. Had pap test and exam. Stopped at Ken’s. Talked with Juanita and Debby. Marg doing good. Terrible storm south of city. Schools closed out that way. Ate lunch at K-Mart. Got birthday gifts for Jill and Joel.

Wrote Vern’s. Cold buy sunny. Went to Marilyn’s for B-12 shot. Got groceries.

Washed clothes. Made cookies and roast. Snowed some in evening.

Power off in evening from 9:30 until 10:45. Got letter from Uncle Berl.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Very cold all day. We went for groceries. Saw Evelyn and Dawn at store.

My hip and lower back hurting today. -40° last night. Vern’s called in morning. Got here about 3:30. Pat, Lisa, Donna here in PM awhile. Left when Vern’s came. Merrill cleaned some at church. Got letter from Dot M.

– 40° again. Vern’s car wouldn’t star so we didn’t go to church. Got it started off our car about 3 PM. They left for home soon after.

– 20°. All water pipes froze. Merrill got water at Belile’s and we melted snow. My back and hips still very sore. Hurts to sit. Called several about welder to thaw pipes but no luck. Patty called. She has had bug.

Joel’s 3rd birthday. Olympic Games open at Lake Placid today. Watched it on TV. Snowing.

30° below zero all day. Rebekah’s. No one went because of cold. Dennis Crowner came to thaw water pipe but couldn’t get connections, $10. Bernard Rosbrook here. Wrote Mother T.

Below zero all day. Esther here to say CEC furnace wasn’t working. Called Robbin’s after checking it. Got groceries. Got water at Aunt Maude’s. Crowner’s called to say welder wouldn’t start.

Mother Tryon’s 91st birthday. Snowy. Patty called. Jim, Joel and Jill are very sick. Carl and Evelyn’s picture in Times for anniversary. Merrill cleaned church.

25° below zero this morning. Below zero all day. Merrill run cleaner. It is good to have water to use. Both tub and wash basin drain frozen yet. Made cookies, salads and baked beans.

30 below zero this morning. Furnace off in CEC. Canceled Sunday School We went to church, 98 out. Jim, Pat, and kids here in PM and supper. Had birthday supper for Jill and Joel. Gave them dolls, puzzles and Mickey Mouse. Jolie dominoes.

No school, mail, etc. Times came. Much warmer today. Wash basin drain thawed. Merrill went to Philadelphia and Theresa. Pipe broke at CEC. Guys from Theresa didn’t show up to fix it. Vern’s called in evening. Still cold there. Deep snow at Washington, DC and NY City.
