Got Farm Tax notice, $512.42, up $21.84. Risdale’s pay them this year. A beautiful day. Got acquainted with Linda Belile for first. I baked cookies and birthday cake for Jim. Merrill jacked up side porch. Took pictures of house. Mr. Cameron called.

Jim’s 35th birthday. They came for PM and supper. We gave Jim kerosine lamp. Jim took home cement mixer and mower Merrill fixed for him. Had the van. We got first $225 check from Risdale’s. Merrill stopped at farm. Took them tax notice.

We went to church. Back on 11:15 time. Went to city. Saw Toby M and Jay in Nicholas. Got white purse at Sears. Drove to Clayton but Bill and Vi were away. Power off in evening, 3 1/2 hours. Saw Legion fire works in evening out our window.

Labor Day. No special celebrations. I’ve felt horrid all day. Nothing done. Merrill painted new porch door. Vi and Mrs. Cameron called in evening. Nice day but a cold wind.

A beautiful day. Merrill painted door, window casing, and steps on house white. He measured porch at Kelsey Bridge. Washed. Jim’s came in evening. Brought cake for dessert. I am so very sore and lame.

We have been here 1 month today. UMW at CEC, 10 out. We increased pledge to $250 up $5. Jim, Pat, Jill and Joel here for lunch. I got B-12 shot. Got groceries. I made apple pie and 2 pumpkin pies. Got ward catalog.

Agway stuff. Got peas and cauliflower. Went to Fays for pain pills. Merrill painted house trim and part of garage. Lee and Isabel Hall here in evening. Got tan jacket, UPS.

Beautiful day. Sent for $2 rebate on hair blower. Merrill finished painting front of garage. We went to Vern and June’s with Jim and Pat. Nice time. Vern’s kitchen is about finished. Party for Bill and Marg Heck’s 25th anniversary. We didn’t get home in time.

Patty called. Invited us to supper. Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. Not a very good report on eyes. Pills upsetting them. Motrin 400. Got brown panel curtains for living room @ $3.27. Sent color of memorial stand.

Merrill worked at Watts all day. I feel horrid. We went for groceries after supper. Saw Vi. Marguerite Beech has gone to Jane’s.

Bill brought first fuel oil, 72 gallon @.49. Dr. Roberts, 10 AM. Put me on 8 aspirin a day. Weighed 156 pounds. We stopped at Ken’s, Orv and Angie’s. Had supper at Don’s. Called Marg. Her foot is about the same. Ken’s gave us peaches and apples. Got blood pressure pills at Fays.

Merrill worked at Watts in AM. I sorted cloths for closets. Beautiful day. Merrill mowed lawns. Went to dump. He cleaned church on way home. I froze what corn we had. I have cold. Sent our voter registration.

Larry and Kris Ashley have baby boy, Randy Michael born today. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Merrill worked at Watts all day. I washed clothes. I have horrid cold. Feel punk. Kavanaugh house has a “For Sale” sign.

A beautiful day. In 70’s. Mom has been gone 1 year. Wrote Vern’s. Sent card and $5. Sent extension dues, $5. Merrill worked at Watts all day. Merrill took Boots to town barn for rabies shot at 6 PM.

Vern’s 42nd birthday. Merrill helped Howard all day filling silo. Like summer day. Rained about 5 PM. Mom’s funeral one year ago today.

Cloudy in morning. We went to city. Took out aluminum for 4-H. Got $9.52. I got brown slacks. Mrs. Scrimmagar here. PNG’s at Esther’s. I went. Leah brought me home.

Beautiful day. 4-H here. Lorraine, Marie, and Laura not here. Carol, Ginger, Gloria, and Alison. Also Claire, Ann and Daryl. Merrill helped Howard most of day. We called about snow blower to ad in Times. We went to Carthage and bought Jacobson blower, $400.

We went to church. Jim’s here in PM and supper. Men picked apples. Got over a bushel. 4-H girls here in PM to plan 4-H window. Norma Gee here to talk about club. Planned meeting for October 13th. I called Norma in evening. Several neighbor’s children here.

Wrote Dot and Uncle Berl. Washed my hair. Merrill finished garage roof. June Risdale called. They have Philadelphia phone now, 3805. Gave Barb Delles first news item. I have a lot of pain tonight.
