Got bill from A. Cozzi for putting our names on monument, $85. Very windy all day. Power off for 2 hours in evening. I didn’t get to UMW Christmas super and meeting. Sue Demo Elles, 27, died from childbirth. Baby lived.

4-H Alison, Laura, and Gloria here. Food lesson II. Time for lunch. Cooked eggs for sandwiches. I went for groceries. Merrill got hair cut. Mary Hall stopped to say Sue Demo died yesterday.

Snowed some during night. I made cinnamon rolls. Merrill cleaned church and fixed light switch. Cleaned and washed. Lorraine here collecting for flowers for Sue Ellis.

We went to Sunday School and church, 14 and 71 out. Snowy some. Jim, Patty and kids here for supper. Jim said Ken is in hospital with infection in his hand. Went in Thursday or Friday.

Sent Ken card, and sent 4-H certificate to Brancatella. Sent $86.00 to A. Cozzi for monument lettering. Merrill put up new “No Parking” signs at church. Got groceries. Took gifts to parsonage for Samaritan Keep Home. Snowy and cold.

Ken went home from hospital. Lynn and Mary’s 30th anniversary. Stormy in places but not bad here. Made vegetable soup. Aunt Maude called to say Marg is in hospital. She had letter from Pauline.

Cold, 2°. Mary said Dilly is in Mercy Hospital. Cold in morning. We went to city. Finished shopping. Got first Christmas card and $10 from Dorothy M. We went to hospital to see Marg. She has gall bladder trouble. They didn’t remove it in 1970 as she thought. Ken went home yesterday.

Got anniversary card from Ruth Schell’s. Stormy. Schools closed all over. Blowing all day. Terrible day. Put up Christmas decorations. Cleaned record cabinet. Got letter from June. Sent Roy birthday card.

Cold but nice. Roy’s birthday. We went for groceries. Lots of folks at the store after storm. Merrill cleaned back room and run cleaner. I made Christmas fudge, 5 pounds, and fruit cake.

Our 42nd anniversary. We went to Sunday School and church. Gave $2 for Tracy’s gift. Jim, Pat and kids here for supper. Patty made rolls in evening to take home. -20° this morning when we got up.

Down to -10° at bedtime. Snowy and raining all day. Merrill and I, Ray and Esther worked at church decorating it for Christmas. Sent package to Uncle Berl, pj’s and slippers. Wrote Vern’s. Got letter from Beulah Hall.

We finished decorating and cleaning at church. Esther helped. Cleaned living room. Rainy, snowy and freezing. Cleaned rugs.

Rebekah’s and PNG party, 6:30 supper. I didn’t go to it. Terrible night. Rain, fog and freezing rain. Cleaned and waxed dining room floor. Washed white curtains. Tried to get Hales oil burner. Jane Dingman started a Bible Study at her home, 1:30. I didn’t go.

Sent first Christmas cards. Went to Big M. Got tree at Big M for $3.50. Got it set up in evening. Very icy all day. A lot of schools closed but not Philadelphia. Made rolls and waxed kitchen floor.

4-H Christmas party covered dish supper, 7 PM. 20 here. A very nice time. Ruth and Pat here too. Got a Christmas card from Rose Petrie. She is at Pamelia this winter. Decorated tree in AM.

A beautiful day. We drove out to Don and Ken’s. Don not feeling too good. Ken was cutting up pork. Roberta, Bill and Luke there also. Talked with Steve, June and Vern. Vern got his appointment for three more years. Talked with Marg on phone.

We went to Sunday School and church, 87 out. Jim, Pat, and kids came to church. Came down here for dinner. We went to Sunday School program in evening. About 100 there. Had cookies and punch after program.

Packed shut-in baskets. packed 30. We couldn’t help deliver as we have a bulge on one of our winter tires. Evelyn called to say Schell’s party has been canceled. Sent more Christmas cards. Marilyn gave me B-12 shot.

Nice day. We went to grocery store in Philadelphia. Went to Theresa to see Mrs. Beardsley. She is pretty good but forgetful. Took her box of candy, cookies and donuts. Got note from Dot M. She got package. Lula went to hospital.

Baked pies, cooked squash, baked rolls. Talked with Aunt Maude. Gilson Strader just got out of hospital last Friday. We went to Christmas Eve service in evening. Church almost full. Had our gifts in evening. Got calculator, gloves and diary. Merrill router kit.

We went to church. Stopped at Ponzis. Cleaned stove pipes. Vern’s got here about 3 PM. Jim’s and Bob left about 8 AM. All got great gifts. I got sink faucets, brown purse. Vern’s stayed all night. June got diamond.

Vern, June and boys left about 1 PM. Just stated to snow here. They called at 3:30. Just got home. Was bad from Mills to city. Mary called to say Donna went to Mercy Hospital Christmas morning early. Had appendicitis operation.
