I went to hospital for blood test in morning alone. Merrill mowed hay. None in barn yet. Merrill had car inspected at Ivan Cross. I went to “Going Away” party for Lois Thomas at Joyce Griffins. Washed.

We went to Vern’s all day to help on their house. Jim, Patty and Jolie there also. They could stay longer. Cloudy but no rain. Sprinkles until after 4 PM. None here but very cloudy.

Rained real hard during night but nice all day. Merrill mowed. Raked hay. I worked in garden but it was hard to see vegetables. My eye are so much worse.

Baler wouldn’t run. Ennis man here but he couldn’t find trouble. A beautiful day. Got note from June. The boys got roof covered Tuesday before rain.

I went for groceries in AM. Man working on baler in forenoon. Got it going but isn’t right. We baled first load of hay but it quit twice. Air in it. Rained in evening so hay is wet again.

50° in morning, 7 AM. We didn’t go to church. We went out and got Don to come out to fix baler motor. He got it going in an hour. Mom came out for dinner also. I took them home and stayed all night.

Watertown Fair starts. I didn’t have to take girls out with 4-H stuff. Donna H took Lorraine and Alison. Others went alone. I got home about 9.

I went to Marilyn’s for B-12 shot. Jim, Patty and kids here for supper. They picked beans to freeze. Cut them up in evening. Jim and Pat worked in garden.

Raining again in AM. We went to city. Got 1% Efirin eye drops, $5.25. Got straw hat for haying. Very heavy rains in evening. Got letter from Pauline Tryon Cornish. Leslie retired in May. Ordered Mom’s radio at Sears.

Rained about all day and night. Will it ever quit? Charles Keichel and Dawn Murphy married. My eyes are bad today. Watched Olympic Games last day. Aunt Maude called. Lila and Jim Ashley have bought trailer at Gerald Delles.

Watched end of Olympics at Montreal on TV. Very beautiful. Russia first, Germany second, US third place. We went to church, 47 out. Rev. Cameron will be gone next 3 Sundays. We took Boots for a ride.

Sent $7.50 to Sheriff’s Circus Fund. 6 show tickets. Wrote Pauline Cornish. Wrote Vern’s. Washed. Made donuts. Merrill mowed hay by house. Nice today but cool. Furnace on. Patty called twice. Joel sick. They took him to the doctor and he has Reseal, measles.

Friday the 13th. Thunder storm in morning. Sent car insurance, $154. Rained about all day. Sent vegetable and fruit frozen order to Agway. Islanders group sings at Philadelphia at 7 PM. Ice cream social also. Community Days.

Philadelphia Community (Civic) Days. Rained in morning but cleared. Not many people out but a nice day and time. Church made and sold about 75 dozen donuts @1.25 and $1.50 raised. Merrill, Dan and I there from 9:30 to 4:30. Got letter from June. Washed my hair in evening. Peaches, Lapps, $7.25 bushel.
