Power off from 6:30 – 7:15. Norma Gee here in PM. Another great day. Merrill chopped and mowed hay. Lynn’s hay bind quit again. Got twice around. Boots and I went for groceries. I met Mrs. Shew for first. He [Mr. Shew] is going to clean our furnace.

Sunday School paper drive. We helped. Had a Mayflower moving van and town truck both full. A great day. Lynn finished cutting hay across road. They took milk today, six days of it.

We went to Sunday School and Church, 67 out. Jim’s here when we got home. Left about 4:45 as he had to work. Jolie and I helped do 4-H window at Donna’s. Another nice day. Merrill raked over hay.

Another nice day. Wrote Marg. We went to Mills and Fays for eye drops. Stopped at Brenda’s on way. Washed clothes. Merrill went to Lodge meeting about Hall. Civic League there.

A beautiful day, 75°. We baled 3 load, 250 bales of second cutting hay across road. I was in shorts and Merrill had his shirt off like in August. UMW at CEC. I was on committee with Marilyn. Cookies and ice cream and strawberries.

Cooler today. We drawed almost 1 load of hay. I broke baler springs on rack. It was covered with hay so didn’t see it. 3100 bales in barn.

UMW meeting at Pulaski. I went with Esther. Also Marilyn, Mrs. Cameron and Lula. All very nice 9:15.-3:00. Merrill went to Gouverneur with Lynn in PM. Cloudy day, with some rain.

4-H Achievement Night, General Brown. 18 went from our club. Jamie, Hills and Linda didn’t go. We got several awards. Lorraine got special award. Home Environment. Laura named 4th place in talent. Merrill got hair cut. We went for groceries. Aunt Maude went to doctor’s again.

Moved plants in from porch. Rainy. Cold with snow in late evening. Merrill kept cows in barn at night for first this fall. Washed clothes. Called Cheryl. Aunt Maude and Dorr’s in Canada.

Nice day. Made cookies and lemon pie. No school or mail. Columbus Day. Bob 14, and Judy 18, Netto of Watertown won $1000 a week for life in State Lottery.

Nice day, 52°. Merrill cut wood. He and Boots went to Mills. Barn widow not in yet. Saw Agway about CEC lights. Called Aunt Maude. She had nice Canada visit. Ken, Eleanor, Pauline and Garmon there also.

I have horrid cold. Charge Conference at CEC. About 28 there. We just went for meeting. Merrill went to CEC to show electrician about light. Put in new ballast.

Nice day, but rained some in PM. We went for groceries. Merrill measured Lula’s steps for lumber. He went to city and Lanphere. Got power saw at Sears, $42.79. He called Jim’s. They have been sick with colds except Patty. Jim going to work tonight. Jolie went back to school

4-H election of officers and project planning. All here but Jamie and Jennifer. Judi and Jackie Hill aren’t joining. Merrill built front steps for Lula, $15. My cold is better.

Sent ad to Times to sell 15 cows. I washed clothes. Merrill chopped grass for bedding. Merrill stored haying machinery. PNG’s at Diane’s. I didn’t go.

Went over to Brenda’s in evening. They have new fireplace. Got permanent at Donna’s. She only charged me $10. Got letter from June. Aunt Maude’s birthday, 71. I called her. Patty called. Their colds are improving. She hasn’t had it. Merrill and Ray Petrie measured church for insulation. Got B-12 shot at Marilyn’s.

Wrote Vern’s. Merrill cut wood. Our cow ad is in tonight’s paper. We went to Bible Study. Fashion show at legion put on by Civic Club. Rained hard in evening.

4-H Leader’s Banquet, Northside Improvement League. Merrill and I went. Not as many there this year. Thunder and lightning all evening with 3 inches of snow in city to Evans Mills. None here. Very windy. Several called on cows. 2 Parties here to look.

Got letter from Pauline Cornish. Vern’s left about 1:30. Nice day but windy and cold. Men here to look at cows from Adams and Potsdam. Mom called in evening. Uncle Lloyd in city hospital. He was in pain. Alarm clock quit. Vern’s got it for us in Massachusetts 9 years ago.

Windy but sun out all day. Snowed Sandy Creek and Oswego way. Called Ken’s neighbor, Lewis Weaver, about cows. Decided to sell part of them. Wrote Vern’s. Got note from them. I went for groceries. Got snowsuit from Vi for Jill.

4-H Halloween party at Dawn’s, about 25 there. Nice time. Merrill and I there. Boots and I went for groceries. Lewis Weaver bought 7 cows. $3650. Paid $2500 down. Took 2 of them home with him. Man from Copenhagen here to look at 11 more.

Sold 5 heifers to Robert Scoville, Copenhagen. $2250. Worked on 4-H enrollment. Trumble is taking other 6 cows to DeKalb Junction on Wednesday.
