Sent $7.50 to Sheriff’s Circus Fund. 6 show tickets. Wrote Pauline Cornish. Wrote Vern’s. Washed. Made donuts. Merrill mowed hay by house. Nice today but cool. Furnace on. Patty called twice. Joel sick. They took him to the doctor and he has Reseal, measles.

Sent Cindy card, $1, and letter. Sent Gladys Adams, Evans Mills sympathy card. Baled 3 load hay. Muddy in one end of field. Patty and kids came out. She picked beans to freeze. Lisa, Angie and Tina here in evening. Pat and kids left about 8:45.

Rev. and Mrs. Cameron leave for vacation on 9:30 bus for [no entry made,?]. Vern’s called. Are bringing Dan the 11th. We baled hay by house. Got stuck in mud. Jeff helped us out. 1025 bales so far. Froze yellow beans. Got letter from Pauline Cornish.

Cindy’s 15th birthday. Sent $2 to Town and Country paper. We went to city. Got supply of needles and B-12. Got eye drops at Fays. Nice today but cold. Merrill mowed hay in PM by barn. Got Mom’s radio at Sears. Real nice. Clarence Shelmidine’s barn burned today. Rural Hill. He milks 175 cows.

Cloudy and rainy in PM and evening. We went to LaFargeville for rake parts. Stopped at Stone Mills Museum Craft Show. A huge crowd there. Froze green beans in evening. Washed my hair.

We went to church. Charles Covelle speaker. Only 29 out. Cloudy and raining all day and evening.

Cleaned boys rooms. Hurricane coming up Eastern seaboard.

Nice today. Hurricane Belle missed here. Hit Long Island during night. Jim, Pat and kids here in PM. They picked and froze beans. Had cabbage from garden for supper. Merrill cut wood. Got note from June.

Mastitis team from Cornell to check cows, $27.20. Vern, June and Steve brought Dan up to stay. Merrill mowed lawns. He and Boots went to Mills. I cleaned house. Washed clothing

Harold Shepherd, 54, funeral. Merrill and Dan fixed window at Lodge Hall. I went for groceries. Got cleaner bags from Mr. McNairn, $8 for 30. Merrill and Dan cut wood.

Friday the 13th. Thunder storm in morning. Sent car insurance, $154. Rained about all day. Sent vegetable and fruit frozen order to Agway. Islanders group sings at Philadelphia at 7 PM. Ice cream social also. Community Days.

Philadelphia Community (Civic) Days. Rained in morning but cleared. Not many people out but a nice day and time. Church made and sold about 75 dozen donuts @1.25 and $1.50 raised. Merrill, Dan and I there from 9:30 to 4:30. Got letter from June. Washed my hair in evening. Peaches, Lapps, $7.25 bushel.

We went to church. Cheryl Horton had service. Community Days Church Service in CEC. Merrill had part in it. Father Vatraw had sermon but he didn’t come. We went to Sackets in PM to their Fair. Place packed. Stopped at Jim’s. Jolie and Dan wrote on open hay wagon. Marg, Roy, Beulah there.

Tired today. Raining. Norma Gee here with cards. I went to Marilyn’s for B-12 shot. Merrill and Dan cut wood. Fireman came to Rev. Johnson’s. Furnace fan got hot. Helen Keichel called.

Nice summer day. No rain. Vern’s got here about 4 PM. Jim’s came soon after. Vern’s brought corn. Vern’s stayed all night. Aunt Maude went to doctors.

A beautiful day finally. Merrill and Steve mowed lawns. Vern, June and Dan left about 1 PM. Telephone man here. Switched us on to new telephone line. They installed [line] on our road some time ago.

A great day. Hot, 80°. I went after groceries. Merrill mowed hay. Rev. and Mrs. Cameron got home from Wyoming trip. Car wouldn’t start, so Merrill put charger on it.

Cloudy but nice in PM. Jim’s and us went to Canada by way of Ogdensburg and home by way of Clayton. Had picnic lunch. Visited Olive, Jim and Elgin Bowman. Took Elgin scripture soap from Mrs. Beardsley.

Steve wrote Vern’s. Sent Karen card, note and $1. Nice day. Washed. We drawed part of a load of hay. First baled since August 5th. Got stuck. Dawn and Laura here.

Beautiful day. We went to church. Bill Heck had service. We ate picnic lunch at Washington Park. Steve loved it. Went up to Mom’s. Took her radio. Debby rode back to city. Fireman’s Parade at city. Merrill mowed hay in evening. Vern’s called.

Baled 4 1/2 load of hay. Two of them went to dump. Jim’s and Vern’s came in late PM. Vern’s stayed all night. Nice day. Had vet for cow, $12.

Nice day. Drawed hay all day. Got stuck once. Vern and boys helped. June went back in field. Bill and Brenda buying Bishop’s farm.

Merrill mowed hay. Broke mower. We drawed 2 load. Vern’s left about 9 AM. Great day. I washed clothes.

Sent Vern’s card and letter. Merrill and boots went to Frys for mower, $47 in all. Drawed 2 load of hay. Vera Rosbrook called. Civic League is interested in buying IOOF Hall.

Vern and June’s 16th anniversary. Got letters from Vern’s and boys. Merrill fixed mower. Mowed some hay. I started to take Rev. Cameron to city for his car but water pump not working right. Esther went. Washed clothes. Went to Big M for groceries.

Rained and thundered off and on all day and evening. Wrote Beulah H. Merrill mowed front lawn. I pulled weeds in garden. I have had headache all day and evening.

Wrote Dot M. 42° when I got up. Hayed it with our coats on. Got one load. Merrill went to Lodge. Civic League people there also to look at Hall. Merrill mowed rest of lawns and worked in garden

Frost last night. Drawed 2 load of hay. Patty and kids here. Jolie stayed out. Patty brought me red foliage plant.
