Cloudy and rainy and cool all day. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill worked in garden.

Still rainy. Rained hard about all day. Made cakes and cookies.

Church at 9:30 now. We went. Went to 12:00 Ecumenical church service and picnic and doings. Miss Rachel Bones put wreath on her great, great, great grandfather’s grave. Thomas Bones, freedom fighter, 1777. Beulah Hall came home with us for visit.

Merrill mowed all the lawns. A hot day but great. We spent a lot of time outside.

A beautiful day. Merrill worked in garden. Jim’s here for supper. Cooked out. Chicken and hot dogs and hamburgers. Geneva and Bob here in evening to see Beulah. Beulah and I went to Philadelphia. She called on Sue and Charlie Ward, aged 92 and 94.

Beulah went to Star Lake with Lois and Joe. I went to Marilyn’s for B-12 shot. Merrill mowed first hay. Rained in evening again. Virginia Klocks burial service at Calcium.

Vi Mowers had party for Beulah, 15 there. Rainy. We went to Clear Lake to see Pauline Giltz, 84. Neighbor told us she was in Bay hospital. She had tumor operation yesterday. Was in intensive care. Didn’t know us. We drove to Clayton but Bob and Geneva Gillen wasn’t home.

Dr. Scanlon, 1:30. I had several exams, $18. No reason for light flashes. We ate at Sambos. Took drive to Sackets. We took Beulah to Lucy Wickes at Clayton for visit.

Jolie’s 5th birthday. Got ready to bale hay but baler wouldn’t run. Washed bedding. Merrill went to Theresa, Browns, for coil for baler. Still won’t run.

Cloudy. Hard rains and stormy in evening. We went to church. Communion. Only 55 out. We drove out to Fays in PM. My eyes are bad today.

Howard H took baler motor to Dick Ennis for valve job. Rained in evening and PM. Terrible storm at Canton. Uncle Lloyd entered hospital.

Cloudy and rainy. We went out to Mom’s for dinner. Dr. Reed has taken her off of blood pressure pills. Debby H rode back to city with us.

Hot and sunny. Merrill mowed lawns. They were real long. Belt and handle on mower bad. My eyes bad today. Washed my hair. First day without rain in ages.

Dr. Roberts, 1:30. I have to have blood count taken. Everything else OK. Patty called about jelly. Howard went after baler motor. Cost $225.36. Raining as usual.

Beulah Hall’s 80th birthday. She flew back to Florida yesterday. Aunt Maude called today to say Beulah M called her today. Uncle Lloyd has a cancer on the bladder. He may go home from hospital tomorrow,.

We went to church. Aunt Maude, Art and Doris Haggerty, Mrs. Pancho, Roy Petrie joined church. We ate at Indian River Diner. Went over to Aunt Keitha’s and to Sackets. Jim at rifle meet at Utica. Called Vern’s in evening. Talked with Marg at Aunt Keitha’s.

I went to hospital for blood test in morning alone. Merrill mowed hay. None in barn yet. Merrill had car inspected at Ivan Cross. I went to “Going Away” party for Lois Thomas at Joyce Griffins. Washed.

We went to Vern’s all day to help on their house. Jim, Patty and Jolie there also. They could stay longer. Cloudy but no rain. Sprinkles until after 4 PM. None here but very cloudy.

Rained real hard during night but nice all day. Merrill mowed. Raked hay. I worked in garden but it was hard to see vegetables. My eye are so much worse.

Baler wouldn’t run. Ennis man here but he couldn’t find trouble. A beautiful day. Got note from June. The boys got roof covered Tuesday before rain.

I went for groceries in AM. Man working on baler in forenoon. Got it going but isn’t right. We baled first load of hay but it quit twice. Air in it. Rained in evening so hay is wet again.

Nice day after rain. We mowed two lawns. Mower wouldn’t start to do the third one. Merrill worked at baler mower.

50° in morning, 7 AM. We didn’t go to church. We went out and got Don to come out to fix baler motor. He got it going in an hour. Mom came out for dinner also. I took them home and stayed all night.

Watertown Fair starts. I didn’t have to take girls out with 4-H stuff. Donna H took Lorraine and Alison. Others went alone. I got home about 9.

I went to Marilyn’s for B-12 shot. Jim, Patty and kids here for supper. They picked beans to freeze. Cut them up in evening. Jim and Pat worked in garden.

Nice day today. We drawed 2 loads of hay. Merrill mowed rest of piece. Washed clothes. Earthquake in China, very bad.

Raining again in AM. We went to city. Got 1% Efirin eye drops, $5.25. Got straw hat for haying. Very heavy rains in evening. Got letter from Pauline Tryon Cornish. Leslie retired in May. Ordered Mom’s radio at Sears.

Still raining. Got letter from Beulah Hall. She got very tired on trip this summer. Very foggy in evening. Sent $26 to Times for 1 year.

Rained about all day and night. Will it ever quit? Charles Keichel and Dawn Murphy married. My eyes are bad today. Watched Olympic Games last day. Aunt Maude called. Lila and Jim Ashley have bought trailer at Gerald Delles.
