Got to bed at 12;45 AM. Lazy day but enjoyable. Boys roasted marshmallows. I called Jennifer about no 4-H meeting this week. Brenda called in evening.

Vern’s left about 9:30. 12° below zero in AM. Got load of straw, 100 bales @ $1 from Harold LaClair. I sent Lisa 4-H report for her as she is sick. Merrill and Boots went to Antwerp for dog license.

Doris H called. Susie getting married in May. Harold LaClair brought rest of straw. Took down tree and decorations. Merrill helped Horton’s take down church decorations. Got tax notice, $396.81, up $79.83. Howard plowed our driveway. Merrill got Jack Pitkin to plow church lot. $10 first time, $5 after that.

Snow. Washed my hair. Got B-12 shot in PM, Marilyn. We went to church, 73 there. Doris Haggerty, Susie, Bonnie and Charles Randall there. Also Aunt Maude, Cheryl and friend Marion. Susie and Charlie to be married in May. Merrill plowed driveways. Larry Patchin in another accident, boy 16 killed.

-24° in morning. Dentist appointment, Dr. Renze, 9:30. I had 6 front teeth pulled and new upper denture put in. Merrill took me to city, cost $45.

Dr. Sommers, 10:30. He put in lower denture and filed off a couple spots on upper denture. Art, Doris and Douglas here in PM. Doris called Betty Hull about getting Legion for Sue’s reception, May 22. I went to UMW at Vi’s. Week of Prayer and Self Denial program. Marilyn’s 1st meeting as president.

Dr. Sommer’s, 10:30. He took some off both plates. Snowy. I got low shoe boots at Pearl’s. Zipper broke on my high boots last night.

Cold all day. Below zero, 10 below at 7 AM. Wrote Vern’s. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Ronnie Griffin took over store. talked with Aunt Maude. Called Joanne Rudes in evening. She can’t help with sewing as she has had pneumonia.

4-H, 7 PM. Lisa Nevilles, 8 , joined club. Only 5 members and 1 guest, Lisa Smith. Lots of snow Adams way. Sun out all day here. Dr. Sommers, 4 PM. Dr. Renze, 1 Pm. He took out my stitches. Weather bad at city also.

Stormy. We went to church, 80 out. Merrill wore his new leisure suit. We gave $25 more toward organ fund.

Sent $38.50 for Merrill’s accident policy. He took out another 1000. Makes 2000. Merrill sold 4 cows to Trumble for $600. Finished paying Dr. Sommers for my dentures, $190. Cost $621 for everything. Cleaned stove pipes, very dirty.

Got fire insurance, same as last year. Very stormy all day. Milk truck slid off road in front of house. He, Jim Hull, called snow plow to pull him out. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Shower for Cathy M at Marilyn’s. I didn’t go.

Donut sale for organ fund at CEC. I helped from 9-4:30. Made over $225 for organ fund. Cold all day. Merrill cleaned out driveways again.

Surprise party for Griffin’s 25th anniversary. Great time by all. 75 there. They got $112 from money tree. Merrill couldn’t go as a heifer freshened. David J helped get calf. Mrs. Johnson with him. Dr. Sommers at 9:45. Took off a spot in upper denture. Jim, Pat, and girls here for PM and supper. Got letter from Vern’s.

Got Valentine from PNG Secret Pal. Dr. Scanlon, Merrill 10 AM., $20. Changed his glasses. First change in years. Said Merrill’s eyes very good for his age. Got eye drops and iron pills. Called Patty. Jim is going to police school this week. We saw Bill and Brenda at Fays. They have new red Chevrolet 2 wheel drive van.

Nice day but cold. Jim, Pat and girls here for lunch and supper. Eleanor, Roberta, Luke and Elaine here to spend night on way home from Canada. Went over for the day. Got letter from Vern’s. Organ fund pizza sale cleared $130.

Used our new church organ for first. Sounded great. 104 out. Eleanor and girls and Luke went to church with us. They left about 3 PM. Cloudy but warmer. Water pump bothering.
