Got to bed at 12;45 AM. Lazy day but enjoyable. Boys roasted marshmallows. I called Jennifer about no 4-H meeting this week. Brenda called in evening.

Vern’s left about 9:30. 12° below zero in AM. Got load of straw, 100 bales @ $1 from Harold LaClair. I sent Lisa 4-H report for her as she is sick. Merrill and Boots went to Antwerp for dog license.

Doris H called. Susie getting married in May. Harold LaClair brought rest of straw. Took down tree and decorations. Merrill helped Horton’s take down church decorations. Got tax notice, $396.81, up $79.83. Howard plowed our driveway. Merrill got Jack Pitkin to plow church lot. $10 first time, $5 after that.

Snow. Washed my hair. Got B-12 shot in PM, Marilyn. We went to church, 73 there. Doris Haggerty, Susie, Bonnie and Charles Randall there. Also Aunt Maude, Cheryl and friend Marion. Susie and Charlie to be married in May. Merrill plowed driveways. Larry Patchin in another accident, boy 16 killed.

-24° in morning. Dentist appointment, Dr. Renze, 9:30. I had 6 front teeth pulled and new upper denture put in. Merrill took me to city, cost $45.

Dr. Sommers, 10:30. He put in lower denture and filed off a couple spots on upper denture. Art, Doris and Douglas here in PM. Doris called Betty Hull about getting Legion for Sue’s reception, May 22. I went to UMW at Vi’s. Week of Prayer and Self Denial program. Marilyn’s 1st meeting as president.

Dr. Sommer’s, 10:30. He took some off both plates. Snowy. I got low shoe boots at Pearl’s. Zipper broke on my high boots last night.

Cold all day. Below zero, 10 below at 7 AM. Wrote Vern’s. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Ronnie Griffin took over store. talked with Aunt Maude. Called Joanne Rudes in evening. She can’t help with sewing as she has had pneumonia.

4-H, 7 PM. Lisa Nevilles, 8 , joined club. Only 5 members and 1 guest, Lisa Smith. Lots of snow Adams way. Sun out all day here. Dr. Sommers, 4 PM. Dr. Renze, 1 Pm. He took out my stitches. Weather bad at city also.

Lazy day. We both slept some. Allan Ostrander here to look at heifers.

Stormy. We went to church, 80 out. Merrill wore his new leisure suit. We gave $25 more toward organ fund.

Sent $38.50 for Merrill’s accident policy. He took out another 1000. Makes 2000. Merrill sold 4 cows to Trumble for $600. Finished paying Dr. Sommers for my dentures, $190. Cost $621 for everything. Cleaned stove pipes, very dirty.

I went to Bible Study. Wind blowing in snow. Snowed in evening. Merrill plowed out driveways.

Made donuts and washed clothes. Rebekah’s at Marguerites but I didn’t go as it was blowing snow.

Lazy day. I didn’t get anything done. Windy and blowing. Very bad Adams way again.

Got fire insurance, same as last year. Very stormy all day. Milk truck slid off road in front of house. He, Jim Hull, called snow plow to pull him out. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Shower for Cathy M at Marilyn’s. I didn’t go.

Donut sale for organ fund at CEC. I helped from 9-4:30. Made over $225 for organ fund. Cold all day. Merrill cleaned out driveways again.

Cold. -25°. We went to church. Dave J r ode with us. I stopped for Leah’s C books. Have them all but Claude W. Cold all over. -55° in St. Lawrence County. Washed my hair.

Surprise party for Griffin’s 25th anniversary. Great time by all. 75 there. They got $112 from money tree. Merrill couldn’t go as a heifer freshened. David J helped get calf. Mrs. Johnson with him. Dr. Sommers at 9:45. Took off a spot in upper denture. Jim, Pat, and girls here for PM and supper. Got letter from Vern’s.

Tired today. Had Miller Cooke from Carthage for heifer, $22. Much warmer. I went to Bible Study. Snowy.

Wrote Mom. 4-H office and Dr. Robbers. Washed clothes. Snowing some. Talked with Mary. Lynn went to hospital day before yesterday, Monday, for tests.

Below zero all day. Snow blowing in evening. Heifer still down.

-20 below. Cold all day. We went to church, 81 out. David rode up. Marie rode home. We went to wake for Alice LaClair’s mother in PM, Rebekahs. Lynn Hall got home from hospital.

Marilyn gave me B-12 shot. Administrative Board meeting. 13 out. No school today because of the ice. Mrs. Ruby Gutierre died, 76 years. I called Doris H. Betty in Lowville hospital. Broken vertebrae. Lorraine here to sew. We have money for organ. Can use the Allan Keichel fund.

New Hammond church organ delivered about 1 PM. Cost $4495. We had money to pay for it in full. I went to Bible Study. We had lunch at parsonage. Warm 37°.

Windy. Snow blowing some. Cleaned, washed clothes and rugs. I didn’t go to Rebekah’s at Marguerites.

Sent card to Betty Haggerty. Merrill plowed driveways. Snowy. I called about getting Exchange student. George, Italy, for April UMW meeting.

Got Valentine from PNG Secret Pal. Dr. Scanlon, Merrill 10 AM., $20. Changed his glasses. First change in years. Said Merrill’s eyes very good for his age. Got eye drops and iron pills. Called Patty. Jim is going to police school this week. We saw Bill and Brenda at Fays. They have new red Chevrolet 2 wheel drive van.

Nice day but cold. Jim, Pat and girls here for lunch and supper. Eleanor, Roberta, Luke and Elaine here to spend night on way home from Canada. Went over for the day. Got letter from Vern’s. Organ fund pizza sale cleared $130.

Used our new church organ for first. Sounded great. 104 out. Eleanor and girls and Luke went to church with us. They left about 3 PM. Cloudy but warmer. Water pump bothering.

Cold and below zero. Very windy. Snow blowing. Roads closed Pulaski and south. Merrill went to Theresa for pump switch, $6.87. Pastor-Parish meeting at CEC was postponed.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Bible Study at UMW canceled because of stormy weather.

Stormy most of day. Cleared in evening. Washed clothes. Got letter from Martha Meeks. Dr. Sommers, 11:30. Had metal smoothed off on lower plate. Merrill worked on income tax.

Down to zero early in AM but a nice day. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill shoveled out Minister’s garage door. I cleaned refrigerator at church and unplugged it. Merrill set hot water heater back to 148°. Was 165°

4-H here. Fruit Delights. Only Marie, Lisa N and Lisa B and Donna here. Pat B here to help with heifer. Made myself flannel pajamas. Down to zero this morning. Nice day. Lorraine B’s father real sick in New Jersey.

Beautiful day. Warmer. Marie here to sew. Jim, Patty, and girls here for supper. Jolie had her hair cut for first time. Looks so cute. She brought me a lock of her hair.

Very snowy and windy all day. A lot of churches closed. We had church but not Sunday School. 47 out to church. David J went with us.

Pastor Parish meeting, CEC. All there but Mr. Ball. We are going to have Gordon Smiley estimate wiring jobs in parsonage and church. Merrill went to Lodge. Was at Ross Melrose’s. Merrill plowed driveways.

Warm and thawing. I went to Bible Study. We went to Ennis for barn cleaner blades. Got material for dress and jacket, blue. Got 10% discount, 4-H leader. Stopped at Brenda and Bill’s. Called Dr. Robbers and 4-H office.

Got Valentine from Vern’s. Nice day, but stormy in evening. Merrill took me to Rebekah’s at Marguerites, 13 out. Merrill stayed at Ross Melrose. Merrill drove pigeons out of Lodge Hall attic. Vern called. They are coming Sunday.

Cleaned stove pipes. Washed clothes. Fried donuts. Got Valentine from Jolie and Jill.

Jim called. Joel Eric Tryon born at 12:47 Friday the 13th. 7 pounds, 8 ounces. June called. They can’t come this weekend. Boys have school Monday. We went to hospital to see Patty and baby. Went to Sackets for girls. Jill has fever from teeth. Called Mom.

Girls are getting along fine. Jill is so cute. Jolie is so good to her. Jim here for supper. The girls wanted to go home with him.

We took the girls to church with us, 97 out to church. Jolie made Valentines in church.

B-12 shot. Mother Tryon’s 87th birthday. Jolie and I went to Marilyn’s in evening. Washed and cleaned house. Washed my hair. Patty and Joel got home from hospital. They called in evening. Beautiful day.
