Larry Ashley’s 11th birthday. Made him cupcakes birthday cake. Merrill and Larry went to Karate exhibition. I made cookies and cake. Cleaned and washed. We all went to Revival in evening. Merrill mowed hay in AM. Larry went up to Aunt Maude’s for supper.

Last day of Revival. We went to church picnic, Gospel sing and evening service. All just great. Good crowds all week. All meetings inside school except for picnic and Gospel sing. Too cold for outside.

4-H kids take items to fair. Alison, Lorraine, Marie, and Vicky took stuff. Several blue ribbons. Mary went with us. Larry went up to Aunt Maude’s. Lyla and Jim and Jerry brought him back. We drawed hay. Pat and his father helped, 2 loads. Ken and Lois brought Beulah in evening.

Cleaned up hay, 1411 bales in so far. Started raining in PM. Mr. Brancatella helped last load. Beulah and I went to PNG’s at Carrie Thompson’s. 16 out, nice time.

Dr. Roberts, 3 PM. Went to Antwerp cemetery. Beulah put flowers on Les’s grave. Picked up Larry. Took Beulah to visit Dexter Hall awhile. We went up to Park. Merrill got glass for tail light on car at Latham’s. I took Beulah to Ruby Guterriz [?] to stay over night. Called Jim’s. He is home with bad back.

Patty goes to Ada, Michigan to Amway Plant. 4-H day at Fair. We went. Larry came home with Jim Bush’s. Jamie couldn’t take part in 4-H horse show as Georgia took papers to Syracuse with her. Merrill mowed hay in evening. Sold combine to Roger Bening [?] for $300.

Cloudy day. Merrill took car to Gouverneur for inspection. Had horn fixed. Put in tail light glass, $29. Got letter from Borden’s. Can’t send milk until cows are inspected by vet. Jim and Jolie here for supper and spent the night. Patty is in Michigan.

Everyone up early this morning. Jim, Jolie and I went to grocery store. Larry went with Cheryl all day. Aunt Maude and Ella gave me tatted hanky when they brought Larry home. Had vet Miller Cook from Carthage for cows. Jim went to Rudes 40th anniversary and on to Syracuse for Patty.

Merrill and Larry went to church. Jolie and I stayed home. Jim and Pat got here about 1 PM. We had cook out. Cornish hens, good. Larry and Pat found 4 baby birds in tree by garage. Patty had good trip to Michigan, but tiring.

We drawed 2 load of hay before thunder storm hit about 4 PM. I did big washing. Merrill went to Mills in morning for medicine for cows. Pat and family baled most of hay by house.

Marva B. has operation. Called Leah about flowers for Marva. Merrill and Larry helped Bill on barn in PM. Got inflations at Agway. I washed clothes. Mended. Wrote Vern’s. Vi was home and called in PM. They have been to Canada. Beula H called in evening. She goes to Syracuse tomorrow.

We all went to church. Communion. Larry’s first communion. We took picnic lunch and ate by St. Lawrence River. Patsy went with us. Rained terrible after lunch so we got home about 2 PM. Boots went with us.

I wrote Andy at Camp Aldersgate. Larry wrote Jennifer Bush. Craig Bening here to see Larry in PM. Also Patsy. Merrill built fence. Got wet. Rained hard in PM. Vi, Martha, and kids here in evening. Brought back bed rail. Cheryl called in evening. There is a Pastor Parish meeting tomorrow night.

Andy’s 13th birthday. Pastor Parish meeting, 7:30. Jim McEtherin was there. A sad meeting and a sorry affair. Brenda, Mark, and Robin here in PM. Got letter from June. Evelyn sent over beans and beets.

A nice day. Merrill mowed and raked hay. We only drawed one load as we got stuck coming across field. Petrie’s started haying here. Got a flat tire on baler. Pat’s plastic twine wouldn’t work so he couldn’t bale. Dawn here about all day.

President Richard M. Nixon resigned. Gerald Ford sworn in as 38th President of United States. First time in history a president has resigned. Sent Holly card and wrote Vern’s at Wisconsin. Merrill mowed all 3 lawns. I washed clothes. Dawn here all PM. Merrill mowed hay. Mowed away yesterday’s hay in AM.

Horse show at Theresa. A huge crowd. Show lasted until midnight. Over 1 50 entries. We went to church. Went to horse show in PM and evening. Larry and Dawn went in evening. Lila and Jerry brought Larry home. Church picnic and baptism at Taylor’s camp.

Put in 2 load hay. Merrill mowed in evening. Mr. Lapp brought 1/2 bu peas in morning. $4, I froze them, about 11 pints. Dawn, Angie and Patsy here to play with Larry. Sure tired tonight.

Nice day. Merrill mowed last of hay, 3 acres. We drawed 2 load. Merrill raked in evening. Larry, Boots, and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Got Larry Mexican Jumping Beans, 39 cents for 4. Hall’s baled their hay. Petrie’s are about finished here.

Mark is two. We just about finished haying. No more shear bolt nuts so we have 2 rows yet to bale. Petrie’s finished haying here. 17 acres, @ $15.= $255. 3446 bales in barn.

Real hot today, 88°. Merrill built fence. He went to Mills for fence posts in morning when he dropped Larry at Bush’s. Merrill got 15 posts. Larry went swimming with the Bushs’. Ate supper at Black River with them.

Jim’s 31st birthday. They were here for supper. Made him ice cream cake. Gave him cutting tool and $5. They brought tomatoes and cukes from Vern’s. 16 million raised in MS telethon $235,000 in North Country.
