Got home from Simonds at 2 AM. Charlotte and Ivan Hale Jr. have first baby boy born in 1974, named Chad Douglas. Lazy day. Slept in PM. Mom called in evening. Aunt Esther is still in hospital. Aunt Maude called.

Cold. Below zero in morning. Had Doc. Gillette, $15, for cow. She had dead calf. Took down tree and decorations. Got tax notice, $308.40, up $33. Washed tree skirt. Snowing in evening.

Merrill plowed out driveways. Snowed about 3 inches last night. Sent cards and letters to Ken and Aunt Esther. We went to Philadelphia for groceries in PM.

Merrill took Pat B to city for water pump for Pat’s car in AM. Cleaned floors. Vern’s got here about 2 PM. They brought bucket of chicken for supper. Spent a pleasant evening together.

Ken’s 54th birthday. Daylight saving time starts at 2 AM. No problems getting up. We didn’t go to church. Vern, June and boys left about 2:30. Snowing in late PM and evening.

Talked with Aunt Esther at hospital. We went to city to Social Security office and Blue Cross office. We have to go back. Stopped at Brenda’s. Jim, Pat and Jolie came while we were gone. Here for supper. Jolie was in bib overalls.

Charles Rosbrook, 72, dead this morning. Nice day but cold. We went to church. Lois L called in PM to say Leon Dickson died this morning in Florida. He was out for walk. Helen found him. Glen Failing died in California.

PNG’s canceled this month. Most of schools closed because of ice and freezing rain. Windy. Merrill and Boots went to Theresa to bank. Got bolts for chair. Rained all day. Snow going fast.

I cut out 2 pair pants. Glen Failing, 68, funeral. He died Sunday in California of a heart attack. Leon Dickson, 77, funeral at Philadelphia. Marie G here after school to cut out blazer. Bill, Brenda and Mark here in evening.

A beautiful spring like day. We went out to Social Security office to sign for Merrill’s Social Security for 1973. Got potatoes and apples at Johnnies. Lynn here in PM. Got groceries in AM.

A beautiful spring like day. Merrill worked at Horton’s garage. Jim and Mr. Puffer brought load of wood. Lisa B here. Pat B. is in NJ. Left Thursday. I cleaned house. Martha Pitts, 68, died of heart attack. Washed my hair.
