Got furniture back in bedroom. Rug looks so nice in there. Cleaned house. Washed clothes. Howard, Evelyn and Dawn were over in evening. Want us to go to their cottage tomorrow.

Installation for new UMW officers at church. All present. Rev B had service today. We went down to Howard and Evelyn’s camp for dinner. First time at their camp. It is so nice. Just like a beautiful home. Cold all day. Called Mom in the morning.

First white frost last night. We went to city. Got towels for Kathy’s wedding gift at Grants. We went to Jim and Pats for lunch. Merrill helped Jim lay living room carpet.

Beulah Hall is in hospital. New UMW Celebration supper. 38 to supper, 25 to meeting. A nice supper and meeting. My first meeting as President. Esther and I set tables in PM. Used 4 new tables. Wrote Vern’s. Merrill and Boots went to Theresa for bolts.

Rebekah’s. Not too many out to first meeting this fall. I’ve coughed most of day. June called. They still haven’t their furnace. I washed clothes. Merrill built fence.

I went to agway for 30 pound tin of strawberries, $15.30. Stopped at Brenda’s. Merrill chopped old standing weeds and grass in meadows. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries.

Sent Beulah H card and letter in hospital. Made cakes. Vern, June and boys came in evening. Called several about Past Grand meeting.

Cathy Ashley and David VanTassel’s wedding. We all went to wedding but Vern. He worked on Sermon for Aldersgate. Lovely wedding and reception. Vern mowed back lawn.

Vern went to Aldersgate at 7 AM. Got back at 1:45. We all went to church. Cloudy cold day. Kids left for home at 3:30. Brenda, Bill and Mark went to church at Mills for first time.

PNG’s at Minnie Dyers. Mary and I on committee. Had individual salads, crackers and cookies. Merrill mowed all 3 lawns. Look nice. I baked cookies. Washed clothes.

Rained all last night and all day. Merrill and Boots went to Doug’s for oil change. I have a head cold. Feel punk. Cleared in late evening.

Wrote Vern. Sent him card and $5. A beautiful day. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. I have a head cold.

A killing frost tonight. I’ve felt rotten all day. No work done. Sent list of officers to Mrs. Daye.

Vern’s 37th birthday. 4-H here at 6:30. 7 members and 1 guest, Kathy K. Nice day. Merrill cut brush by Hall’s. Murphy filled gas tank.

Rainy, Sent for 4-H candy to sell. Sent 4-H reports, due Tuesday. I slept in PM. We went to Philadelphia in PM to get cough medicine.

UMW Celebration at Asbury but I didn’t go. Merrill went to church alone. We went out to Mom’s in PM. First we have been out since Donna’s funeral. Eleanor and Elaine here in evening on way home from Canada. Eleanor said Roberta is married. Tired tonight.

Council of Ministries. I went. Only Matt and Rev. B there. Assembly Presidents visit at Sackets Harbor. I didn’t go. 128 present for dinner. I haven’t felt good all day. Coughing a lot.

Got letter from Beulah Hall. Bible Study started up again today. I went alone as I couldn’t got Ruth on phone. A beautiful day. Three astronauts made safe landing after 59 days on Sky lab.

Charles Carroll, 28, killed near Griffins in evening. Leah’s 37th anniversary. Rebekah’s election. Betty Rudes NG, Leah Simonds VG, Diane Sec, Marguerite Finan. Sec, Esther Treas. Washed clothes. Merrill and Boots went to Philadelphia and Mills. Paid school taxes, $328.58, up $41.18 from last year.

Leah’s birthday. I got teflon cookie sheet at Vera’s for her, $2.59. Left it on her porch. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries and to bank with Lodge money. We started painting garage trim. Looks nice. Rained in evening. I figured Lodge books in evening. Everything balanced.

A nice day but not much painting done. Hot water heater in IOOF Hall went up. Merrill helped. Donna got one from Vernie LaFave for $45. Ken Lamica hooked it up, $10.

A nice day. Merrill and Boots went to Weston’s and Sackets to get ladders from Jim. Got Aunt Maude’s brackets. I painted on garage and barn. Merrill painted on garage in PM. I cleaned stove in evening. Also washed some windows.

A nice day. We went to church. Went to Clayton to see Beulah Hall. She is much better. Ate lunch at Theresa Diner. Wrote letter to Uncle Berl in evening. Merrill gave Carl K bills for hot water heater.

Installation at Antwerp Rebekah’s. I didn’t go. Wrote Uncle Berl. IOOF meeting. Merrill went. Only 5 there. We painted on garage and house trim. A beautiful summer day.

UMW meeting at Carrie Thompson’s, 16 there. Raining off and on all day. I went to Bible Study. I drove. Ruth went with me. Marva gave us books for Body Life. Study course, 95 cents.

Brenda’s 21st birthday. Cloudy day. Merrill and Boots went to Mills. Merrill finished painting on garage. Talked to Marg M. Marg K and Diane, on church business.

Parcel truck brought 4-H candy, 144 boxes. Called 4-H girls in evening about window. We painted on house trim. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Wrote Marg letter along with her birthday card. Washed my hair. Put color rinse on it.

Marg’s birthday. Thunder storms and hard rains most of day. We went to city. Called Patty. Jim starts work at Fays on Sunday’s. Got blue material. Dawn was over. Counted out 4-H candy in evening.

Dr. Robert’s wife died. Set up 4-H window in Donna’s Beauty Shoppe. “Knitting” Jamie and Marie helped. I gave out 4-H candy to sell. Linda and Kim LaFave here. Merrill mowed all three lawns. Look great. I stopped at Lorraine’s for coffee on way home. We went to Marie Rona’s wake in evening.

Beginning of 4-H week. Communion Sunday, 107 at church. We went over to Calcium Cemetery for plants and bulbs in PM. Took Brenda Iris. They were not home. Mrs. Rona’s funeral.

Columbus Day and Canadian Thanksgiving. Marguerite is ill so we didn’t have audit. We painted front of house today. A beautiful day. No school or mail. Nora and Linda here with candy money. Dawn was over.

Called several about meeting to plan church suppers. Susan Meeks 4th birthday. Rebekah Books audit. I didn’t go. Merrill painted on house and barn. A nice day. I went to Bible Study. Our work books didn’t come. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for supper. They are selling Amway products.

Vice President Agnew resigned, Tax evasion. Rebekah’s Installation, 56 present. Mary Chamberlain DDP. Betty Rudes NG, Leah VG. Merrill painted all day. House about finished. I washed my hair. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Johnson’s 50th anniversary. UMW gave them plant.

Another nice day. Merrill painted on barn. Called 4-H kids in evening. Lorraine called to say we got blue award on our 4-H window.

4-H Achievement Night at General Brown. All went but Judy, Cindy and Vicky. Sharon got 10 year pin. Lynn and Mary went. Also Merrill. Vern called in morning. Wants us to come Sunday. I opened checking account for 4-H club at Philadelphia bank.

4-H meeting here, 1:30. 11 members and 1 guest. Katrina Schelt, Theresa. Election of officers. Dawn H, Allison E and Laura Payne joined. Merrill got 2 teeth pulled at Theresa, $16. Judi and I took down window display at Philadelphia. Fried donuts. Washed my hair. Also black and red dress.

Ken’s have new GMC truck. We go to Vern’s We left at 8:20. Got home at 5:15. Terrible windy most of night and all day. We went to Minetto Church. Vern had service. Ken, Eleanor and Holly came to Vern’s for dinner also. Was good to be together.

We met at Esther’s to plan church suppers. Nice day. Merrill painted on barn windows. Merrill went to lodge in evening. I went to Past Grands at Carries.

Colder today. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. Carol and Mrs. Bennett went with us. I made a cheesecake for first time. Very good. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for PM and supper. Brought Amway order.

4-H Leaders Meeting at Fire Hall. Mary and I went. 14 there. Merrill and Pat built fence. Bill, Brenda and Mark over in evening. Mark is so cute. Mrs. Daye called at noon. Made final plans for District Meeting.

Rainy and cold. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill kept cows in for first night this fall.

Taylor’s 28th anniversary. Mary Hall and Aunt Maude’s birthdays. We went to city. Got groceries for District Luncheon. Can’t get squash at Adams Center. May get it at Theresa. We went out to Mom’s. Don is building shed over barn cleaner.

Cloudy day. Some rain. Merrill helped work on CEC steps in PM. Joyce and some were working raking leaves on church lawn. Spent most of day and evening on telephone. Mostly 4-H. Washed clothes. Washed my hair in evening. Sent Steve card. Sent Halloween cards.

Beautiful day. Today would have been Mom and Dad’s 59th anniversary. We went to church. Rally Day. They took up a collection for Blanche and Joe LaLonde. I stopped at Vickie’s for candy money. Oakland A’s won World Series over NY Mets.

No school or mail, Veteran’s Day. Lorraine and I went to Lafargeville for cottage cheese and to Ryor’s for turkey. I got Halloween party stuff for 4-H. We took 6 turkey’s to Brown’s to freeze. Took 1 to Esther’s and brought 1 home.

A beautiful day. I went to Bible Study. Merrill painted barn doors. I went up to CEC in PM to help set up tables. We set up for 94 downstairs. Made cheese cake and got vegetables ready in evening. Talked to several on phone.

Black River Ontario UMW District Meeting. 107 to dinner at Philadelphia CEC. A beautiful day. Rebekah’s. I went. Only 13 out. Merrill put shingles on barn. Roger H. hurt selling first aid kits.

Steven’s 9th birthday. Sent Ed and Irene Bennett 50th wedding anniversary card. Merrill went to Mills for nails. I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Took luncheon money to Margaret M. Another beautiful day. Merrill shingled on back of barn.

4-H party at Brancatella’s. 48 there in all. Girls invited guests. Several parents there. A great time by all. I called several about Election Supper. I made punch for party.

Charge Conference Meeting at Evans Mills, 7:30. We went. Taylor’s went with us. Matt only other one. Stopped at Taylor’s for ice cream afterwards. Washed clothes. Tired today.
