Vern goes to Atlantic City for 5 days. Dr. Scanlon, 2 PM. Pressure in each eye is 17. We stopped at Fays and Grants, Seaway. David’s 19th birthday. Raining all day. Ed fikes, 64, took his own life Sunday.

UMW at Esther Taylor’s. Nice meeting. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. Cloudy, wet day all day and evening.

Raining hard all day and evening. We went up to Ed Fikes wake in evening, at their home. Marguerite B. went into hospital. She called to ask me to be District Secretary Friday.

Ed Fikes funeral at 11 AM at church. Rainy. We went to Antwerp and Philadelphia. I got lavender double knit for 4 piece outfit. Made most of it in evening. Pants, tunic top, and shirt and vest, cost $18.

PNG District meeting, 6:30 ham dinner. 45 there. New DDP. I took Marguerites place as District Secretary as she is in hospital. Larry Patchin here about $55. Painting house roof. Merrill had summer tires put on at Mills.

I wrote up minutes of District Meeting in AM. Beautiful day. Merrill finished raking lawns. I washed Merrill’s work clothes. Cleaned house. Baked muffins, pumpkin pie, cookies and peach cobbler. Dawn was over. Received 10 pens for $1 that I sent for.

Bob Eg is putting siding on church. Marie VanEpp’s birthday. Mother and Dad Tryon married 67 years ago today. We went to church. We went out to see Aunt Cora and Pearl in PM but they weren’t home. Eleanor called from city. Aunt Esther in hospital since Thursday. Called Aunt Maude.

Aunt Esther has operation, 10 AM Wrote Vern’s. Marguerite Beach in city hospital. Lila called hospital. Aunt Esther back in room from recovery at 3 PM. Merrill and Bob F. started work on church porch roof. I washed clothes.

Today would have been Dad’s 81st birthday. He’s been gone 13 years. Ground covered with 4-5 inches of snow. melted some in PM. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for supper. We didn’t go to Bible Study. Merrill didn’t work on church because of snow.

4-H Demonstrations at 6 PM. I took Nora. She got blue. Tom gave me 4-H seeds for 3 clubs on this road. Merrill worked on church with Bob F. I went to Rebekah’s after demonstrations. Cold all day.

Dad passed away 13 years ago today. Nice but cold. 40° I went to bank and grocery store. Made banana bread. Stopped at Mary’s with seeds and Lodge stuff. Merrill worked at church

Friday the 13th. Pat Brancatella’s birthday. 4-H here. Had 9 here for first food lesson, Candy. Linda, Lisa, Jackie not here. Merrill worked on church. Aunt Maude called in morning. She went to see Aunt Esther in hospital. Mary had spell and is in hospital also.

Lois Ward and Joe Lowery married today at Glenda’ Webbs. Full Gospel Meeting. I went with Ruth. Nice meeting. Nice day but cool wind. Merrill worked at Church. They put up fire escape at CEC. Had pop corn in evening. I won doll in Lodge Raffle.

Saw Jim on Square in city. Palm Sunday. Church full. 5 Babies baptized, Julie Meeks, Joel Sharkey, Weaver baby, Goodenbeck baby and Carolyn Hudson’s baby. Went to hospital to see Marg H, Aunt Esther, Aunt E has cancer. Marg has high blood pressure and sugar. Saw Lila and Jim at Philadelphia store.

Wrote Vern’s. Sent Alice LaClair card in hospital. Initiation at Antwerp but I didn’t go, 75°. A great day. Merrill worked at church. He went to Mills first for wash powder. Boots is 1 year old today.

Colder today. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. Merrill worked at church. Jim, Pat, and Jolie here for lunch and supper. Jim helped on church awhile. Patty gave me shell jewelry.

FFA Supper at school. I worked on it. Fed 123, ham. Beautiful day. Washed clothes. Curly Raymo, 68, died of heart attack. We got beautiful Easter card from Vern and June. Merrill worked at church.

A beautiful day. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill worked at church. I got Easter cards and Merrill mailed them in PM. We got card from Dan and Steve. Howard, Evelyn and Dawn were over and spent the evening.

Nice day. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa. Got Easter cards from Jolie and Jim’. Merrill worked at church in PM. I washed bedding. Called Mom and Aunt Maude in evening. Marg is home. Aunt Easter good. Roberta H is engaged to Bill Tousant.

A great day, 80°. Merrill worked at church. I helped set tables at CEC. Joyce came after me. Cleaned house. Washed my hair. Men took down chimney on church. Bobby Eg. and Men are putting siding on it.

Easter Sunday. Rained all night. Rained off and on during day but sunny and warm part of the time. I went to Sunrise Service. We went to church. Good crowds. We went to Mom’s for dinner. Bishop’s had dinner with Don’s.

Council of Ministries at CEC. 7 out to it. Leah went with me. Marguerite called. We went to city to pay for feed. I got canvas shoes at new Agway shoe store, $5.35. They fixed telephone in PM.

Nice day but cold. Merrill finished work at church on doorway. He and Bob F have worked at it 12 days in PM. Dawn was over. I baked cookies, cupcakes, and dessert for supper.

Lula Rappole’s 83rd birthday. Had birthday cake and Jell-O. Rebekah’s. I got the old fashion doll I won on raffle. Betty Fikes, NG made it. Freddie and Doris Aynes house burned to ground tonight. Merrill went to Philadelphia for oil change. Pilot killed in crash near Lowville.

Toby Morrow’s 29th birthday. Cooler today. Merrill built fence for first this year. Not bad this year. Dawn was over. I finished slacks. Boots and I went to bank and grocery store.

Merrill went to city and Mills. He got self propelled lawn mower at Weston’s, $85.59. Got house roof paint. 7 gallon @ $13.95 at Agway. Raining all day. Washed my hair. Gave Boots a bath.

Vern’s. Last time we were there was August 27th. Took boys lawn ornaments, squirrel and frog. We had Boots for first time there. June had nice dinner. Convoy on 81 all the way home. Eleanor came soon after we got home. She and I went to video tape at church with Ruth in evening. Very good crowd.

Fast time begins, 2 AM. Communion Sunday. Eleanor went to church with us. Mary and Lorraine started us ushers for first. Eleanor left about 2:45. She was going to stop to see Aunt Esther. Rained all day but cleared in evening.

PNG’s Betty Rudes. 15 out to it. Committee meeting at Esther’s, 1 PM for Mother and Daughter Banquet. Merrill got new lawn mower together. Very nice. Eva Williams, 86, of Natural Bridge died today.
