Sent Merrill’s accident Insurance, Omaha, $188.20. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Dawn was over twice.

Back on old time. Raining. We went to Sunday School and church. Young people had charge. Rev B at N.B. and Harrisville. Called Vi about getting rolls and meat. Martha and kids back in Philadelphia to stay.

Sent Halloween cards and 4-H Enrollment Cards. Washed clothes. Broke up rolls for Election Supper. Leo Cullen, 44, found dead in his car. Janet Miller’s husband.

Went to Bible Study with Ruth. No meeting next Tuesday because of Election supper. Merrill and Boots went to Mills after 2 X 4’s for station. 17 kids here trick or treating. Called several about supper slips. Ruth and Esther took some.

We went to city. Took ad to Times for Election Supper, $9.80. Jim, Pat, and Jolie here for supper. Jim starts work days starting Friday. Martha moved into trailer on Antwerp Street. We saw Garmon R and Lula R at hospital.

We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Got groceries for Election Supper. Rainy day but warm. Washed my hair.

Dentist’s appointment, 11:00 AM. Tooth decayed, $9. Jim works days this month, 12-8. Cloudy. Baked brownies, 2 apple pies and 3 pumpkin pies.

Raining all day. We took turkeys to folks to cook. Turkey cost 47 cents. Cleaned house. Merrill got hair cut. Pickled beets for Tuesday.

We went to Sunday School and church. Not as many out today, Cloudy and cold. Snow flurries in early morning. Made candy for Bazaar.

Beautiful day. Cooked squash, dressing stuff, broke up bread. Got cabbage ready for Vi to grind at school tomorrow. Talked with several about supper. We went to 4-H Leaders Banquet at Carriage House. Merrill’s first time.

Election Supper. Good turnout. We made $271.00. We voted in morning, number 86 and 87. I didn’t lose a vote. Pres. Nixon returned. A nice day.

Tractor trailer driver from Mills shot on 81, Raining. We went to Philadelphia to pay supper bills. Went to Theresa for part for kitchen faucet, $1.12. Rained hard all day. Sleepy day. Got letter from June. They are coming 17th and 18th. I went to Lodge in evening with Mary.

Wrote Vern’s. Boots and I went to bank and got groceries at Philadelphia. I’m not so tired today. Another truck driver up north put car in ditch. Had gun pointed at him.

Sent subscription to Moody Monthly for Uncle Berl and ours. Made donuts. Washed my hair.

4-H Knitting Lesson II at 1:30. Isabel taught. 8 girls here. Cloudy day. Pat B here in evening. Washed clothes. Dot’s husband Joe Medina died at 4:30 PM today.

Went to Sunday School and church. Good turn out. Martha M at church with Julie Ann, 2 months old. She is so sweet.

Cloudy and rainy day. We went to city. Ate lunch at Grants. Beulah ate with us. Got watch with S & H Green Stamps, 4 books. Got silver bread tray with plaid stamps. Merrill saw Jim on Square. I called Patty.

Agway Dinner at school They paid us $2137.50. Only 378 there because of stormy weather. Very slippery. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. Merrill went to Agway dinner. Enough food left for a public dinner on Sunday. Joe Medina’s funeral.

Ground white. Cold. Merrill went to Philadelphia to mail letters. Sent Ken’s anniversary card. I feel lazy today.

I got letter from Dot Medina saying Joe died last Saturday, Nov. 11. His funeral was Tuesday. I called Mom. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Beautiful day but snow is still on ground.

Vern’s come. Got here about 6:30. I went to Theresa with Esther to hear Missionary from India at Theresa Methodist Church. Merrill went with Pat looking at heifers. Merrill gave Steve jungle garden. Gave him an autograph dog.

Vern went to church meeting at city. June went shopping. They left for home about 8 PM. Boys played out doors most of day. Got stuff ready for church dinner.

Dinner at Fire Hall. Very good turnout. Cleared about $120 for Building Fund. Went to Sunday School and church, but I worked during Sunday School. Bowman’s were here while we were gone,. They went to Aunt Maude’s.

Sent for car license, $36.25. Lots of snow this morning. Started last night. Sent Good Housekeeping subscription for Patty and June. I went to Past Grands at Elsie Bacon’s. Merrill had new tires, snow, put on car at Agway, $90. Got card and letter from Marg and Roy.

My 55th birthday. We gave $100 on Church Sunday School House. Committee meeting to buy Hall House for Sunday School. I went to Bible Study alone. Got cards and letters from Ken’s and Uncle Berl, Dawn was over. Jim M. brought PHG turkey for freezer. Jim and Pat called in evening.

Debby’s 13th birthday. Wrote Uncle Berl. Down to 10 tonight. Rev. B. had accident with his new car. No one hurt. We went to Philadelphia for groceries. Thanksgiving Service at Philadelphia church, 8 PM. We went. Very nice.

Thanksgiving. We went to Mom’s. Jim has to work. Vern’s are in Plymouth, Mass. Mom had nice dinner. I stopped at Mrs. Beardsley and got my soap cross. Took it out home. Roads terrible slippery coming home. Snowing in PM. Dawn was over. Don is getting barn cleaner. Also have new oil burner.

Wrote Dot M. I made 4 loaves of pumpkin bread, cupcakes, and cake, and cookies. Got letter from Beulah Hall. They aren’t too good.

Washed my hair. Cloudy all day. One of new snow tires on wagon is partly flat. Merrill changed it. Vern’s picture is in today’s Times. Got letter from California concerning Victor Johnson. I saw his letter in Jesus Paper and answered it.

I was sick with cold. Coughed all night. Merrill went to Sunday School and church alone. I ordered poinsettia plant from Lindsey, $4.50. Raining and windy all day, Marguerite B. called in evening.

Council of Ministries here. Rev B, Matt, Sue, Cheryl and Martha here. Good meeting. The new church house is to be called The Christian Education Center. Merrill went to Mills and Theresa. Got another rim for car. He went to Philadelphia in AM. Got Christmas card and $5. from Dot M.

Anne W. called about 4-H Party. She will have it. Took Mildred Beardsley to Gouverneur nursing home to see her sister. Jim, Pat, and Jolie here when we got home. Jolie is a busy one.

Lois Ward’s birthday. Merrill went to meeting at IOOF. Bill Bowhall wants to rent Barber Shop again. We straightened back room.

Coughed all night. Merrill had to go to city to get spreader tire fixed, new tube, $12.

Snowed during night and in morning. Plow was over. We went to Philadelphia for groceries.

Surprise party for Lynn and Mary at Legion, 25th anniversary, They had a huge crowd. Nice time. We went to Rating Talent show at school first. Carrie T and Debby H. went with us. Washed my hair.

Tired today. Got home at 1 AM. We went to church. Roads very slippery. Watertown had a Christmas Parade for first time in years. Bill and Linda Mattingly joined church. Also Sarah Fredrick’s from Bay.

Dr. Scanlon, 2 PM. No change in my eyes. Didn’t have dark room tests. I took dry cleaning to Seaway. Sent first Christmas card to Beulah and Les. Wrote letter.

WSCS covered dish, 6:30. Esther’s. I took tuna casserole. We gave money for Piper Memorial Hospital instead of exchange of gifts. I went to Bible Study. No more until Jan 2. Plowed driveways. Got letter from Dot.

Very warm. rained all night. Jim called in morning. We went to city shopping. Jim met us at Sears to get tires for John Voodoa [?]. Merrill went to see about flood loan. We saw Dorothy LaClair in Woolworth’s. Got quite a lot of Christmas shopping done.

Washed clothes. Merrill decorated tree by garage. Cleaned house. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries.

Our 37th anniversary, Sunny but cold. Merrill helped Carl Horton on Sunday School scenery. Wrote some more cards. Got some. Pat B. shot 3 wild geese. Astronauts landed on moon. Got letter from June.

We went to city. Merrill took in damage loan papers. Also paid for 2 ton of corn and oats. I shopped at Sears. Called Jim’s twice. Got letter from June. They will come the 25th or 26th. Called Aunt Keitha. Lula and Garmon both in hospital. snowing.

Rained all night. Very windy and icy. Some schools closed. Cleared and nice all day. Jim, Pat and Jolie here for supper. Mary and I went to Lodge in evening. We didn’t go for 6:30 supper. Merrill and Jim got tree at Hall’s. $4.

Merrill helped Carl H. on scenery. I took him up. Went to bank, art shop, and got groceries and gas. Got more cards. I sent package to Dot and Uncle Berl.
