Edith Seeley’s 86th birthday. She was home for the day. I went up in PM. Many there. She was so glad to be in her home. Her mind still alert. Merrill and Boots went to the Mills. Rainy. Howard and Dawn over in evening.

Got belt on chopper. Merrill chopped 1 load of grass. Ed Graham mowed hay back of ledge. Merrill went to meeting at church on building committee. Washed my hair in evening. Renewed Life magazine for 30 weeks with Bill Scott, $5.

Church at 11:15 AM. We went to Sunday School. 145 in Sunday School. Floyd Taylor new adult teacher,. Church full even front seats. Light frost last night for first. Merrill mowed all 3 lawns.

Martha and John Meeks have baby girl born today, Julie Ann. Merrill chopped 3 load of grass. New belt on blower ripped. Boots and I went to bank and store. Ed and Arnold working at hay.

Wrote Danny. Rained during night. Merrill drawed one load of hay. Rebekah President Dorothy Jourone made official visit to Jefferson County. Philadelphia beef dinner at Legion. Meeting at Mason’s Hall. Leah Simonds DDP, 181 present at meeting. Very nice.

Rebekah’s. Good turnout. We went to city twice. Got blower belt fixed, $16. Called Mary. They had $300 stolen out of their safe last week. Got new stereo needle for record player at Carl’s, $4.

Got belt back on blower. Heard today that Lorraine Brancatella had appendix operation yesterday. I went over and stayed with kids while Pat went to hospital in evening.

Wrote Beulah Hall note. Merrill put in 4 load of grass. Boots and I went to Bank and store. Jim Schell had cow with rabies. Jim, Jimmy, and Marian taking rabies shots. Got letter from Mrs. Beardsley. Has my soap carving made. Big M store robbed during night, $1,700. Stayed with Brancatella kids.

We went to Sunday School and church. I went with Ruth to Singspiration at Evans Mills in PM. I stayed with Brancatella kids in evening. Very warm today. Graham’s baled 3 load of hay in late PM.

I went to 4-H Leaders Meeting at Fire Hall. Mary went with me. Merrill and Ed baled four load of hay. I took cake over to Brancatella for their supper. Lorraine had stitches out at doctors office this morning. Sent Vern card, letter, and $10.

Vern’s 36th birthday,. Drawed two load of hay for us. Nice day. Warm.

Mowed front lawn. Wheel broke on lawn mower. Merrill chopped grass. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries.

Sunday School paper drive. Only 1 load of hay in barn as Graham’s baler broke. Nice day. Washed clothes. Merrill and Boots went to Agway for wheel for lawn mower but couldn’t get one. Washed my hair in evening. Dawn was over.

Raining again. We didn’t go to Sunday School or church. Went out home for dinner. First we have been out in ages. Stopped at Weston’s and got wheel for lawn mower, $2.30. Called Patty. Jim is paneling living room.

Cloudy all day. Rained in evening. Council of Ministries at church. I didn’t know it until Anne E. called in evening. Only 5 members out. Merrill mowed away hay and silage. Dawn was over. Ivan Hale has to go to hospital.

Bible Study. I went alone asIwent to bank and grocery store. We went to Gouverneur in PM. Merrill got new shoes, $18. at Gouverneur Co-Op. Jim, Pat and Jolie here when we got home for supper. Jim had to work in evening. Jolie is so cute walking. Raining all day.

Sent school taxes, $287.40. Merrill chopped 2 load of grass. He finished 17 acres. Ivan Hale went into hospital for tests. I went to Lodge in evening. Election of officers. Betty F. NG, Betty Rudes VG, Marguerite Financial. Sec, I’m Treas. again. Mary called. They are bringing Jim back from NY City tonight.

I figured Lodge Books. All balanced. Boots and I went to bank and got groceries. Beautiful day. Merrill started chopping oats.

4-H Talent show. Cloudy. Merrill chopped oats. Merrill got hair cut at Theresa.

Church Board Meeting. Only 16 out. We voted to buy Hall House for $11,000 if possible. Rained hard all evening and day. Washed clothes.

Real hard frost last night. Communion Sunday. We went to Sunday School and church. New Time, 9:45 and 11:00 AM. We went down to see Beulah and Les. Ken’s there also. Ken,Eleanor and Holly here when we got home. Vern’s called in evening,. Also Aunt Maude,. Pat B. here, also Dawn.

Merrill mowed most of all 3 lawns. Wrote Brenda. Cleaned house. Washed my hair in evening. We also gave Boots a bath. Leah and Staff installed Antwerp. I didn’t go. Their 1st one. A beautiful day.

WSCS here, 8 out. Several went to Lodge at the city. Nice meeting. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. A beautiful day. Merrill chopped grass. Brenda’s 20th birthday.

Another beautiful day. Men drawed some hay to use for bedding. Rev. Kenneth Reynolds, 39, died of sudden stroke. Used to be a Philadelphia.

Lodge Book Audit at Marguerites. I went in PM. Planned Installation and refreshments also. Merrill stored machinery. He and Arnold burned waste hay. A beautiful day. Washed clothes.

4-H Achievement Night at General Brown. I didn’t go. No ride. Merrill got wet chopping oats. Very lame in evening. Raining hard in PM and evening.

Rainy. Lazy day. Mother T, Leslie, and Grace here in evening to spend night. They had been to see Aunt Cora at Ogdensburg. Pat B. here in evening.

Mother T, Leslie, and Grace left about 10 AM. We didn’t go to Sunday School but went to church. Marva and Cheryl H. had service. Rev B. at Aldersgate with MVP. We went to city. Got apples and potatoes. Aunt Cora’s birthday.

Susan Meeks 3 years old. 4-H here at 1:30. Election of officers. 10 members, guest Crystal Lamica’s cousin. Snow flurries for first. Very cold all day. Merrill and Boots went to Philadelphia and Mills and Calcium in PM. Got plants from cemetery. No school or mail.

Ecumenical family supper at Legion. We went. Very nice. Father Beyette not there. Boots slept on our bed all night. Bible Study. Good turn out. Talked with Vi. She told me John left Martha the day after she came home from the hospital. Merrill got oil change at Doug’s.

Installation at Rebekah’s. Unity installed us. Supper at Fire Hall. All very nice. About 50 there. Merrill went to church meeting. They are going to get Hall House for $11,500. Jim, Pat, and Jolie here for supper. Jolie is getting so big.

Shower for Charlotte. Lots there. Many nice gifts. I went with Evelyn. I went to Philadelphia Fire Hall to help clean up after supper. Went to bank, Vera’s, and Store. June called. They are coming tomorrow.

Nice day. I cleaned, washed bedding. Made donuts. Vern’s got here about 5:30 PM. Merrill and Boots went to Philadelphia and Mills.

Vern, June and Merrill went to city. Vern got winter tires. They got Steve a gerbil for his birthday. They left for home about 6 PM. Raining. Got card from Uncle Berl. Dot and Joe are in the hospital with pneumonia.

Nice day but cold. Merrill kept cows in last night for first. We went to Sunday School and church. Rev B. has walking pneumonia but was at both churches. Wrote Dot, Mom, and paid bills.

Snow other places. Boots 1/2 year old today. lazy day. Very windy and rainy. Pat here. He helped Merrill take down blower. Garmon Roggie, 50, hurt in wagon power take off. He is in Mercy Hospital.

Went to Bible Study with Pearl. Merrill went to Gouverneur with tires but they couldn’t trade. Garmon hurt quite bad. I went to Evans Mills instillation with Vi. First one of Leah’s I’ve seen. Washed my hair. Made appointment with L Giles for 2:30 Friday. Leah and staff recommended for certificate of perfection.

We went out after Mom. Jim, Pat and Jolie came right after we got home. Jolie went to emergency room with ear infection. Temp, 105. She feel good now. Snowing in evening.

Ground covered with snow this morning. Taylor’s 37th anniversary. I put pictures in Mom’s photo album. Army plane crashed on Camp Drum. The pilot, 30, is killed in crash. Sent Garmon card. Washed Mom’s clothes. Theresa Installation. I didn’t go.

2:30 appointment with Lawyer Giles at Mills. Mom also. We go to city Thursday at 11 AM to sign them. Nice day but cold. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. 10° in AM.

Mom and Dad married 58 years ago today. We took Mom home,. Talked with Marg,. Don is using bulk milk tank. Pauline at Juanita’s. Garmon hurt quite bad. Got vegetables at William’s in Adams Center for Election Supper. Dawn over in evening.

Wrote Steve. Sent him card and $1. Will give him gift later. I went to Bible Study with Ruth. Merrill helped Evelyn get heifer out of M spreader wheel. We took Boots to have rabies shot at Philadelphia. Dawn went with us. Washed my hair. Got letter from Dot.

Steve’s 8th birthday, I took Marva, Esther, and Marguerite to Black River District WSCS Meeting. Leah and Willabelle attended also. Nice lunch. I went to Lodge in evening. They had cake and gifts for Leah. Dumping station quit in evening. Guy came from city. Was a coil. Merrill gathered glad and dahlia bulbs.

We went to city to sign legal stuff. Mom and Eleanor met us there. They came out and Eleanor and I gave each other Toni’s. Merrill signed for extra Federal Grant.
