Brenda and Bill Draper engaged. 4° below zero when we got home from Bill and Vi’s at 1:30 AM. We went out to Mom’s. First since Nov. 8th. Ate at diner with her. She gave me $5 for my birthday. I took her plum pudding June made her. I made hard sauce for it.

Mrs. Hagan’s 87th birthday. They had card shower for her. Sent her card. Also Elsie B and Hattie McKeever. Took down tree and decorations. Marie and Vickie here to sew. Vicky finished apron. Got tax notice. $160.68. Much warmer in evening.

30° in morning. We went to church. Gave Vi check $10 for Reconciliation Fund for 1970. BCI Investigator Frank Feigel, 41, killed in plane crash at Longways Diner. Sheri Feigel’s father. She went to State Fair with us.

Raining. Started skirt and slacks for Pat. Aunt Maude called. Washed my hair in evening. Wrote Dot Medina and Ken’s. Sent Carrie T card. She broke her wrist.

WSCS at Vi’s. Week of Prayer and Self Denial program. I didn’t go to WSCS. Very icy and stormy all day. Cleared some in evening but windy and icy. Sent cards and letters.

Still cold but nice. Snowy. Adams and Sandy Creek way. I haven’t felt good all day. Pain in side and back. Merrill met with nominating committee at Leah’s in evening. He got home at 11 PM. Sent Merrill’s accident insurance, $19.

I have a sore side. We went to city for eye drops and groceries. Saw Jim at Fays. Patty wasn’t working. Got letter from Vern’s. Vern may fly to Maryland to see Dr. Maley.

Warmer. We didn’t go to church. Ken’s here for 3 PM dinner. Roberta had girl friend from college, Pat. Sheri Fiegel 9, with them also. Ken’s left at 6:15 PM.

Wrote Vern’s. Washed my hair. Tired today. Called at 2 PM to get dentist appointment. Got in at 3 PM to have filling put back. Cost $5. Didn’t freeze it. Clipped cows.

Bible Study at Margaret’s. Pearl P went with me. It was an excellent meeting. Cold all day. Merrill, Carl K, and Jim M put up chimney pipe at Lodge Hall. Jim and Pat here for supper. 15° below at bedtime.

Jim and Pat’s house closing, 10 AM. Got letter from Mrs. Beardsley. Cleaned house. -20 below at 7:30 AM and 3 above at 2 PM. Merrill went to Lodge. Good to have both stoves going but still cold in hall.

Sleet storm. No school Allen Shepherd and Edgar Mitchell landed on the moon at 4:17 AM. Walked on moon for over 4 hours. Our power went off at 11:40 AM and didn’t come on until 11:15 PM. Couldn’t milk or do any work.

Saw 2 crows today for first. Nice day. Second day of fish derby at Sackets. Derby not as large as last year. We didn’t go to church. Went out to Mom’s. Took chicken dinners with us from Carrolls. Snow banks high out there. One way traffic from Adams up. Brenda and Bill getting married June 5th.

Chili Exchange Student at Guild meeting at Martha’s. I didn’t go as it was snowing and blowing. Merrill plowed driveways. Milk truck got off driveway. Sent Marg Hall card and note. Washed c lothes. Cleaned house. First in 2 weeks, Made brownies.

Took 4-H garments to city. Debby and Mary, and Sharon didn’t sew this year. Merrill and I took garments for 10 members. Got eye drops at Fays. They gave me new bottle in place of one mailed as it might have froze. Called Pat and Jim. Jim back to work but not feeling good. Mary Hall came home from hospital.

Church canceled because of snow. Merrill worked all forenoon just plowing out lower driveway for milk truck. Hasn’t opened other one. Called Jim’s. Jim can’t work for 10 days. Has to have therapy treatments on his back.
