4-H Leaders Banquet at Hotel Woodruff. 7:30. Donna Hall and I went. There was a huge crowd. I got 5 year leader pin. Donna got 1 year. Cold in evening. Called Patty. Wrote Vern’s. Sent boys Halloween cards. Merrill not feeling too good.

Grants Washington Street Store opened. I went to city today at 10 AM for turkeys and groceries for election supper. Stopped at Pat’s. Jim not home yet. Went to hospital . Ken was going home. He has Sarciodosis. Very rare. Called Vern’s. They are all sick. Vern some better.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Got letters from Dot M and Les and Beulah Hall. Merrill went up to Aunt Maude’s. Larry Nevilles white washed barn, $31.27. Had only 9 Halloween Trick-or-Treaters. Halls, and Brotherton’s. Nice day. Warmer.

Warmer. Merrill worked on Aunt Maude’s barn. Getting ready to cut door. I cooked 8 pounds of cranberries. Broke up bread for dressing in evening. Cleaned house.

Raining. I went to church and then to Aunt Maude’s. Merrill worked on barn. Girls helped. Dorr’s there in PM also. We ate lunch with Aunt Maude.

Edna C called to say she couldn’t do her turkey. I cooked onions, and celery. Broke up more bread. Merrill worked at Aunt Maude’s. Rained about all day. Supper Ad was in tonight’s paper. Donna and I went to 4-H sewing lesson at city.

Alger Shippee’s birthday. Election Day supper. I’m chairman of kitchen for 8th time. Seven in a row. Pretty good crowd. Cleared $172. Got home at 8 PM. Jim, Pat, Gary, Joanne came for supper. Came down here afterwards. We voted in AM. Called Vern’s.

Agway dinner 7 PM at school. We went to auction at Allendale. I went up to Mom’s. Have had headache all day. Raining in evening. Ken and Eleanor was at auction. Also Oren B, Juanita is pregnant. Brenda has been to the doctor for arthritis.

I’ve been in bed all day with headache. Merrill got door in Aunt Maude’s barn and roller door on. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Got 4-H supplies in mail, project literature etc.

Feel better this morning but weak. We went to city for groceries. Merrill bumped into John Oberton’s car at Seaway. We went to Grants new store for first. Very nice. Paid for supper groceries at P & C. I started blue corduroy dress in evening. Moved sewing machine downstairs. Raining in evening.

4-H Sewing Lesson here at1 PM. Six girls and Donna here. We got a lot done. We went up to Aunt Maude’s in evening. Merrill put hooks on her garage door.

Aunt Maude, girls and Dora went to Canada to Loren’s. Cloudy day. We went to church. Merrill was only man there, Not many out, I worked on corduroy dress. Merrill put on winter tires.

I washed, cleaned, and ironed some. Finished corduroy dress. Sharon Hall to be a Junior Leader. Merrill went to Philadelphia bank. Dr. Sommers office called to say I could get teeth cleaned Friday 9:10 AM. Marge Heck, Donna and I went to Advanced Sewing lesson at city in evening. Merrill pulled dahlias.

No school. 4-H sewing here. Robin, Debbie G and Mary here to sew all PM. Donna helped Nora in evening. I finished Debby Hall’s dress from last year. Debby and I went to Antwerp fabric store. I got a piece of material. Made brown skirt. Merrill plowed.

Rebekah’s. Mary sick in bed so missed meeting. I took gift to Ruth’s in AM for Sharon. Merrill finally finished plowing. Jim and Patty here for supper. Sharon Sinclair’s shower. I didn’t go to it.

Beautiful day in morning. Some snow flurries and rain later. Merrill put sill in barn. I have a cold. Took Corasedin for it, so I have been sleepy. Debbie H was over to cut out and sew on 4-H outfit in evening.

Dentist appointment at 9:10. Had my teeth cleaned $8. by Dntal Hygienist. I went to Seaway for groceries after dentist appointment. Rainy. Merrill shingled on barn. Debbie over to sew in evening. Second moon shot off to moon. 11:22 AM

Marie here to sew in PM. She got a lot done. Toby and Jim Decker here. Gave Karen Tupperware order. Snow flurries in late PM and evening. Heavy snow in places. Merrill clipped cows. Made green white striped dress in evening. Ground covered with snow.

We went to church. Snowing off and on all day. Snow mobiles out. Sharon and Larry Patkin here in PM awhile. Merrill broke manure spreader. I still have horrid head cold. Several accidents due to snow and ice.

PNG’s changed to tonight at Carrie F. I didn’t go. Have been sick in bed all day. Terrible pains in my head. Canceled Marie’s sewing tonight. I got birthday card from Fran and Mickey.

Pete Conrad and Alan Bean landed on moon at 1:54 AM. TV camera out. Very windy. Called Debbie not to come to sew. Signed for Merrill’s Farm Ext $400 with Donald Turner. Very windy. There was a fire by light wires near Hales. Snowed in evening.

Dentist Appointment 10 AM. Had 1 tooth filled $8. Very snowy most of day. Conrad and Bean made second moon walk around 12:30 this morning. Docked with mother space ship at 1 PM. Clyde Clark was here. We owe $68.30 on Pro and Credit. Phone out. Got several cards. Letter from Uncle Berl.

Wrote Debby and Mom. Sent for car license. Jim and Pat came for supper. Gave me tan handbag and pearl jewelry. Gary here in PM with new car, 1966 olds, tan. Mom called. Also, Grace Tryon. Kids took record player home. Got letter from June and Vern. Pat has job at Fays. Goes to work Wednesday, 26th.

Debby’s 10th birthday. Down to 8° above last night. I went to Philadelphia in morning for groceries. Vern’s called. They are coming this weekend. Jamie Schell here sewing on apron. All done except pocket. Washed my hair. Merrill went to Antwerp. Gary Pastor got kicked in face. Lost 2 teeth.

Warmer. We went to church. Lazy day. There was a train wreck near Philadelphia at 3 AM. 36 cars derailed. No one hurt. Debby H over to sew slacks. She is first one to finish 3 piece 4-H outfit. Debbie gave me blue poodle dog.

Wrote Mother T and Marguerite Beach in hospital. We went out after Mom. Called Jim’s in evening. Are coming tomorrow. Got stereo record player at Century $51.98. Played it all evening. My birthday present from Merrill. Juanita and Don expect in April. Astronauts landed.

Nice day. Made cakes and pumpkin pies. Jim and Patty and Gary here in PM and for supper. Marie G. here in evening to finish her 4-H dress. Washed bedding. Toby and Susie Moore here. Toby, Karen and Wade going to Karen’s father tomorrow.

Patty starts new job at Fays full time. Vern, June and boys got here for supper. Brought cooked chicken for supper. Merrill put new glass in garage door, $16.

Had lovely Thanksgiving day together. Vern’s, Jim’s, Mom and us. June made delicious plum pudding, pecan and pumpkin pie. Jim had to go to work at night. Patty was off today. Debby Hall here to sew in evening awhile.

Vern’s left about 9:30 AM. Mom and I went to Big M at Philadelphia for groceries. Went over to Aunt Maude’s. Took her dress back to her I fixed in neck. Mom got 2 records. Patty works till 10 PM. Got Merrill Timex watch at Rosbrooks for Christmas. $21.95

Snowy. We didn’t go to church. Snowed all day. Lazy day. Vi called. She kept baby this week end for first.

Still snowing. Sent in film. Also our life insurance. Washed clothes. The snow plow was over for first this winter. Did ironing.

Below zero last night. Took Mom home. Snowing out that way. We stopped at Jim and Pat’s on way out. Mom’s first visit at their home. WSCS Christmas party at Mrs. H. I just went for meeting. 17 present.

Snowy off and on all day. I went to city shopping for Christmas. Got quite a lot done but tired tonight. Parked in new parking garage for first. Got Christmas tree at Matt’s store, $2.75. Merrill worked on tractor. Got letter from Charlene. Freddie got home October 5th from Viet Nam.

Snowing all over. Got first Christmas card from Dot Medina. Sent us $5. She has moved. Cleaned house. Washed and tinted hair. Merrill went to Philadelphia and Theresa. They will fix tractor at Ken Browns.

Sent first Christmas card to Dot and Joe. Wrote letter. Sent Uncle Berl package at Theresa Post office $1.10. Uncle Berl, sweater, Lettie, apron. Merrill drove tractor to Kenney’s. They took it apart. I went after him. Christmas shopped at Pearls.

4-H Officers Training. We didn’t go as Merrill was using car. He went to Frys for tractor parts in morning. $60. Kenney and Merrill fixed tractor $52-$112. I got groceries at Theresa at the new Midstate Store that opened this week. Very nice. Put up Santa and outdoor candles. Debby was here in evening.

Below zero last night. We went to church. Communion Sunday. Timer switch on oven isn’t working. Put up lights on porch and some of other decorations in house. Aunt Maude called in evening.

Finished putting up rest of decorations. Made cookies and donuts. Jim and Pat here for supper. They have new car, 1966 white SS Chevy with black top. Red interior. Jim is working at Penny’s and Fays during the day. Eleanor’s mother died of a heat attack today.

Sent Roy card. Wrote letter. Nice day. I went to city shopping all day. Saw Jim at Penny’s working guard. Merrill helped Howard on garage. Got 3rd Christmas card from Aunt Keitha. Fried donuts in evening. Debby was over in evening.

Roy’s birthday. Another nice day. Wrote Good Housekeeping about December issue. Rebekah’s Christmas party. 21 out. Each one took something to eat. Mary made punch. Rained hard in evening. Addie Klock not good.

Our 34th anniversary. I was in bed with a headache all day. Very windy. Jim and Pat called in evening to wish us happy anniversary. When Jim got off work, he worked at Fays. Got wedding invitation to Freddie Tryon’s wedding.

Addie Klock 81, died in Carthage Hospital at 7:30 AM. She had an operation at 4 AM for a blood clot. Lois H called me. Merrill went to city shopping. I’m not very peppy today. Donna Hall came home from Washington. She didn’t like it there.

Toby up in morning early for breakfast. Ground covered with snow this morning. I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Took donuts to Klocks. Got 3 records for Mom. Started addressing cards. Called some for Mary about Addie’s wake.

We went to church. Merrill went up to funeral hone for Addie in PM. I went to concert at school with Evelyn and Debby. I went to Addie’s wake with Rebekah’s in evening, about 22 out. Mary went with me. I called Jim in evening,. Addressed Christmas cards.

Put up tree and decorated it in evening. Sent 40 Christmas cards. Some with notes. Marty Rudes here in evening with my Tupperware from Karen. Made fudge. Addie Klock’s funeral at church 2 PM. I went alone. Jim and Pat here for supper. Jim said Eleanor’s mother passed away.

Called Mom. Eleanor’s mother died of heart attack last Monday on Dec 8th. Found her on the floor. Made Christmas cookies and dipped chocolates. Merrill has headache. Got letter from Uncle Berl. He got our package. Rev. H entered hospital for piles.
