Jim discharge from service 2 years ago. Electrician here to change wire on house. We drawed lst load of hay on 4 acres. Washed bedding. Hal here in evening to watch colored TV. Rained in evening.

Pat and Jim sent “Thank yous”. I Sent check to Tennery for rake, $225. We finished ceiling on milk house. Put in rest of floor. I mowed two lawns in evening. Jim and Pat went to drive-in with Pastor’s.

Jim’s 2nd day off. Patty ordered pictures. Gave Jim $10. Got letter from June. I went to city for groceries. Vi went with me. We watched moon shot splash down on TV. Pres. Nixon aboard ship to greet them. Jim and Pat went on free tour of 1000 Islands from 6-10 PM. WOTT sponsored it. Men drawed three load of hay.

Philadelphia black-topped their end of our road. Wrote Vern’s and Don’s. Sent him birthday card. Only drawed one load of hay. Cloudy and damp. Rained in evening. Merrill worked at milk house.

Thunder storms in morning. We worked at milk house all day. Pat and I went to Philadelphia in evening. We went to Fireman’s Field Day at Theresa later. Jim came down also. A large crowd. I took 4-H Enrollment Cards to Nora and Marie. Merrill called Bisnett’s to tell them milk house was ready.

We haven’t been to church since June 15th. Owe $12 pledge. Jim went with group to cycle races at Syracuse. We slept in PM. Rained all PM and evening. Rosie G and Marie here in evening. Also Lorraine for blanks. Elmer called in PM. They are coming tomorrow. Watertown fair opened with horse show.

Cloudy and humid. I took Lorraine, Sharon, Marie and Nora out to Fair with 4-H exhibits. Donna went too. Merrill took tires of wagon to be fixed. Jim and Pat stayed at apartment tonight. They went to Morgia’s for steak dinner. Elmer, Melba and kids came.

Wrote Vern’s and sent church pledge to Addie for 6 weeks. Elmer, Melba and kids left about 10:30 AM. Jim and Pat came in AM. Kids and Gary went to Pat’s Uncle’s at Cape Vincent. Merrill and I drawed some hay. Baler wouldn’t tie right. We mowed two lawns in evening. Got car insurance, $100 this year.

4-H horse show at Fair. 4-H Day. I didn’t get to go. We drawed rest of hay back on 7 acres. Jim and Pat went swimming. Got wedding pictures from Mr. William Bender. $29. Merrill mowed rest of hay by barn. Cleaned house. I went to Philadelphia for groceries in evening.

Thunder storms all night. I took 4-H kids to fair for exhibits and checks. Merrill went to Mills for bed pieces for hay wagon with tractor. Toby, Karen and Wade and Danny W here to take Star out. Jim and Bill Decker here on cycles. Pat did ironing in evening. Vern called.

Star’s 2nd birthday. Jim went to cycle races at Syracuse. About 30 went. Patty spent day at city. We went down to see Beulah and Les Hall at Clayton. Went to Geneva’s store. Nice day. Lost filling in my front tooth.

Sent Cindy card and letter. Jim and Pat went to city in AM. Patty saw Eleanor, Brenda, and Roberta at city. Brenda took road test. Power company here to change over meter. Electrician here in evening. Steve Puffer came out with Pat. He mowed front lawn. Gary P here also.

Pat and I went to city in morning. Jim got us a battery for small tractor at Sears. Gary here in PM to help draw hay. Pat and I went to Philadelphia in evening for cig. Rained in late evening. Elmer Shultz hit man with truck. Killed him. Timmy Slovin.

Men drawed hay. Pat went to city in AM. I mowed lawns. Made pies. Pat cleaned with cleaner. Rained hard in city. None here. Jim and Pat went to Pastors for supper. Washed kitchen curtains and windows. Vern’s last day teaching summer school.

Electrician here in morning. Jim mowed hay. Unloaded load of hay and got half a load. Gary helped. Washed clothes. Got stuff ready for dinner. Andy the kitten has a swollen neck. Caught cold.

Mom called. Also Pat’s mother. Vern preached sermons at Philadelphia 35 and Mills 27. We all went to Philadelphia church except Merrill. He and June went to Mills with Vern. Vern’s got here about 7:30. Left at 6:30. Their rabbit died. Jim and Pat went to city in evening. Merrill and I went up to Aunt Maude’s.

Bisnett’s brought 300 gal. bulk tank in evening. We drawed hay. Merrill mowed some. Pastors here in evening. Jim and Pat spent night at city. Cool night. Furnace went on. Sent Holly card, $1. and letter.

Holly’s 9th birthday. Jim goes to court at 10. Drawed hay in PM. Gary helped. Gary and JoAnne here for supper also. Jim, Pat, Gary and JoAnne went to cottage at Clayton. It is near Les and Beulah Halls. Jim Mattison here in evening.

Sent car insurance $100. I went to Philadelphia to bank and grocery store in morning. Merrill mowed and raked hay. We drawed two load. Jim and Gary stopped by in evening for Jim to get work clothes. Nice time at cottage. Girls got lost going down. Toby here in evening. He mowed away hay. Nice day.

Jim Mattison’s 72nd birthday. We drawed two load of hay. Jim didn’t come to help. Kids came at supper time. Helped unload one load of hay and mow away. Very hot and humid all day. My head has felt horrid all day. Terry over in evening.

Merrill and I drawed 4 load of hay. Most yet. Very hot and humid. I washed clothes in evening. Cook books I didn’t order came today. Can’t finish haying this week. 3 acres yet to cut and 1 load to draw.

Hot and humid again. Toby here helping all day. I went to city in morning for groceries. Jim and Pat here in PM and supper. They went back to their apt in evening. Toby, Karen and Wade here for supper. Bill Meeks dug out hole for milk house drain $10.

Rained during night. Windy. Still humid. We went out to Mom’s and Don’s. Jim and Pat went with us. Vern, June and boys there also. Jim, Pat, Merrill and I had dinner at Tomacy’s. Nice day. Roy Benson at Eagle Hotel killed last night on Plank Road.

Bisnett’s men started installing bulk tank and dumping station. Merrill mowed rest of hay. I mowed all three lawns. Merrill went to Theresa for pipe fitting. Hurricane Camille terrible in Miss. Worst one yet.

Rained hard during night. Men finished installing milk house equipment. Merrill worked at milk house door,. Washed clothes. Talked with Martha and Vi. John and Martha have found a house at Dexter.

Cold last night but beautiful today. Sent Karen card. I went to city for groceries. Got Merrill work pants. Got cloth for skirt, tan. Bob Smith here. They will calibrate tank next week. I saw Fran Soluri in Grants. Merrill worked at milk house.

Karen’s 5th birthday. Swell day. Quite warm. Merrill went to Mills and to Sears. Got new tire put on car rear, $33.02. I washed clothes. Toby, Karen, Wade here few minutes in AM. Merrill finished inside of milk house. Did ironing.

Beautiful day. We went down to Bill and Vi’s at Merry Knoll. Had lunch with them. When we got home Orv, Angie, Kathryn and Chuck had been here. Also Ken’s. Ken’s came back over from Art’s. Lyla, Kathy, Larry and Gerry were here also. Ken’s ate lunch before they left at 7:15.

Wrote Vern’s. Cold wind all day but nice day. Merrill worked at barn. Jim, Pat, Gary, Don and Shari Pastor here on cycles in PM. Paid Jim and Gary for haying. $10. $65 in all. Gave Jim his last cow milk money $15. I mowed lawn by house in evening.

I went to city for groceries. Went to Westons and Sears. Got tan slacks and sneakers. Real warm today. Bisnett’s men installed dumping station. Will be here tomorrow night to start using it and tank. Jim enlisted in service 7 years ago. Loren killed in France 25 years ago.

Hall’s went to State Fair. Got school tax bill, $253.28. Started using bulk tank and dumping station in evening. Bisnett’s here all during milking. Merrill went to Mills. Washed and cleaned.

Bulk tank milk truck picked up milk for first. 2 days of milk. Roy and Margaret Keichel and 2 boys and Mr. Campbell stopped by. Jim and Pat here for supper. Came on cycle. very hot and humid day but nice breeze. Gleason came after compressor.

Jim’s 26th birthday. WSCS at church. Jim and Pat here for supper. Gave Him $10 for pants. Toby and Wade here in evening awhile. I went to WSCS. Guild members there also. Pat and JoAnne were having a party for Jim. I wrote Dot. I got white blouse at Robert Halls.

I went to city for groceries. Stopped at Philadelphia bank to deposit $2500 check from Pro and Credit. Merrill worked at shingling barn all day. Cloudy and muggy. Six local men arrested on drug traffic counts in evening.

Church back on regular time, 11:15. We went. Rev. and Mrs. H here in evening. Rainy and hot and humid. We went up to Uncle Len’s in PM. Ate lunch at Johnny’s Inn. Sen. Everett Dirkson, from Ill. died today of cancer.
