Charge Conference Meeting at church. Rev. Bird in charge. Covered dish dinner after church followed by meeting. Merrill and I went. Good turn out for everything. Cheryl, Pam, and Gary here in evening. Gary is coming to work for us Saturday @ $15 and $20 sum.

WSCS at Addie and Edith’s. I went. I made pies, pumpkin bread. Jim and Pat here for supper. They talked with Mrs. Livingston about cake. $25 plus tax. Washed clothes. Merrill started porch floor.

Aunt Maude called to say Mae Strader died in Canada this morning. Her funeral is Saturday. Called Mom. Sewed dress and coat hem. Cleaned house. Got first Newsweek Magazine on second subscription.

Wrote Uncle Berl and sent him birthday card. I went to city for groceries. Did dry cleaning. Bought dress, hat, and bag at Diana Shop. Got hat for wedding at Grants, $5.00. Eleanor called from city. They plan to come Friday night.

World Day of Prayer. Catholics are included this year in program. I have had headache today. Merrill washed car at Matt’s. I went to World Day of Prayer. Good turnout. Jane Beach Grappotte and 4 daughters sang. Mom and Eleanor came in evening.

Rebekah’s put on supper for fireman. Made $150. I worked when I got home from Canada. We all went to Mae Strader’s, 70, funeral. Mom and Eleanor stayed over to Bowman’s. They have sold their farm and bought a house in Winchester. Vern and June called.

Nice day. Girl Scout Sunday. We went to church. The Bowman’s, Jim, Olive, Elgin, and Carmy, brought Mom and Eleanor home in PM. Didn’t stay long. Jim and Pat here in PM and supper. Mom and Eleanor went home in evening after supper.

Did Jim’s wash and ironing. Several white shirts. Merrill went to Philadelphia and Mills. He brought home machine to lay flooring in porch.

4-H Leaders meet at Philadelphia Fire Hall at 1:30. I went. Merrill started laying porch floor. Jim and Gary came after Jim’s clothing. Had been to police school on drugs and alcohol. I have pains in my head.

Wrote June. Got letter from June. Also Edie and Floyd Wallace. They are in Tucson Arizona for two weeks. I went to city for groceries and varnish for porch floor. $18. Three Astronauts make safe 10 day trip to test moon landing ship. Snowed in evening.

Ground covered with snow this morning. Not much work done. Merrill worked at porch floor. Got farm liability policy back $54. Snowed again in evening. Roads very slippery. Toby and Karen have baby boy, 7 lb, Wade Frederick.

Sent Roberta birthday card. Washed kitchen curtains. Merrill went to Mills for more flooring. Jim called to say Karen had baby boy born night before last. 7 lb. Vern and June called. They are coming next Friday evening.

Beautiful day. We went to church. Had covered dish dinner in honor of Miles family after church. About 65 there. Nice time. Toby called in evening. They named the baby Wade Frederick.

Wrote Edie and Floyd Wallace. Also Melba, Charlotte and Charlene. Put under coat on porch floor. I went to PNG at Marguerites in evening. 19 there. Beautiful day. Vern called. They are coming Saturday. Roberta’s 17th birthday.

I went to city for groceries. Got 1 gal. white paint for porch $9.50. Got Merrill rubber boots at Pearls for his birthday. Merrill finished moving straw in hay mow. Windy in evening. Colder.

Merrill’s 60th birthday. Vern and June and boys got here for supper. Snowed in morning but melted. I made Merrill birthday cake. Got letters from Melba, Uncle Berl, Juanita, Merrill got cards from all. Also Gehm’s.

We had birthday dinner for Merrill. Vern’s, Jim and Pat here also. Gave Merrill rubber boots, gloves, hammer, screws. Kids all here for supper also. Vern took Ken’s crib home.

Merrill got birthday card from Mother Tryon. Merrill went to Mills to order paneling for porch. Installed wire for door bell. Raining in PM and evening. Merrill went to Lodge. First in ages. Sent Eleanor card and letter.

4-H Beginner’s Sewing. I have headache but kept going. Mopped and waxed rest of upstairs floors. Dyed bedroom rug and two spreads. Merrill went to Philadelphia. Beautiful spring day. I went to Rebekah’s with Mary but felt horrid.

Bill Mowers birthday. Merrill and I went to city, Got door canopy at Sears, $28. Got stuff to make two pillows. Got 2 for green draperies. I went to Lodge in evening. We have two candidates. Merrill got birthday card from Ken’s. Snowy.

I went to city and got dress, bag, shoes, and hose, for wedding. Got groceries. Merrill put lighted door bell on. They brought paneling for porch. Ground covered with snow and slippery underfoot.

4-H sewing here in evening. No one came. Pres. Dwight Eisenhower died today at age 78 years. Merrill put paneling on porch. Ran out of it. I smocked gold pillows for Pat in evening. Merrill went to Mills.

Mattingly’s store opened for first. Rainy and snowy. Merrill went to Mills for another sheet of paneling. I went over to Debby’s birthday party in PM. Baby shower for Martha Brown but I didn’t go. Merrill finished porch. Girls club had smorgasbord supper at church.

Colder. We went to church. We ate lunch at new pancake place at city. We went out to Mom’s. Her burn on stomach is bad. Also has a sore on chin. Snowing off and on. Ground white when we got home. Roads and weather very bad Syracuse way.

Cold and windy. Snowy by spells. I washed clothes. General Eisenhower funeral at 3:30 PM. Marie Gleason came after school and finished her apron. First one finished. Roads very slippery in places. Lots of accidents city and Lowville way.
