4-H here at 1 PM. 9 kids here. Finished Foods, Let’s Explore. Did Hoard’s Dairy Contest. Toby and Karen here in evening awhile. Talked with Lyla. Uncle Ray not too good today. Called Mom in evening to tell her about Uncle Ray. Aunt Keitha and Velma have new large trailer at Dexter. Toby brought cheese from Malone.

We went to church. We went over to Uncle Rays afterwards and Merrill shaved him. Uncle Lloyd and Mary were there., They came down here for dinner. Went back to see Uncle Ray on way home. Eleanor, kids, and Jim B here for supper. She called Bowman’s. I went up to Aunt Maude’s at 11:15. Stayed all night.

4-H cattle meeting at city, 8 PM. Roads slippery in evening. Sent Karen birthday card. Uncle Ray went to Mercy hospital by Philadelphia ambulance at 1:30 PM. It got home at 2:15. Windy and snowy.

WSCS. Leah’s exchange student Dora Fontalon from Brazil spoke. 25 present. I took Aunt Maude out to hospital in morning. She will come home with Cheryl. Got letter from Beulah Hall. Got 4-H craft stuff. Jim and Pat here for supper. Didn’t get to see minister. We decided some wedding plans in evening.

Karen Morrow’s birthday. I took Aunt Maude to city at 9 AM Uncle Ray seemed better today. I called Marg and Aunt Keitha. Betty H called in evening. Also several others. I did Jim’s wash in evening. Aunt Maude and Cheryl called the fire department when furnace pipes burned out in evening. 10 PM.

Nominating committee at church 8:15. Merrill went. I took Aunt Maude to hospital at 9 AM. Uncle Ray got TV today for his room. He got up to go to bathroom. We worked at income tax. Did wash in evening.

Quarterly Conference at church. We went. Only 18 there. It was cold in church so we went to parsonage. I took Aunt Maude to city in AM. Jim and Pat came to hospital for Jim’s wash at noon. I got groceries on way home. I called Mom from hospital.

Marilyn and Bob Payne have baby boy born at 4 AM. 7 lb, 4 oz. Brian. I didn’t take Aunt Maude today. Cathy did. Rev Hutchinson here for supper. Also Jim and Pat. They had wedding counsel. Mrs. H in Fulton with mother who is in hospital. Alma Reynolds in bad accident. Mrs. Hoover killed.

Snow in AM. We went out to Mom’s for dinner. Didn’t go to church. We stopped at hospital on way home. Gilson Strader called Aunt Maude to say Mae was real bad.

Guild meeting at Dawn Keichel’s. [Program]: In quest of the Least Coin. IOOF Installation. Merrill is chaplain. Lyla called me at Dawn’s to say Uncle Ray isn’t as good. Aunt Maude stayed out in evening. I stopped there at 1 PM.

Dave goes to Syracuse. Eleanor took him and Juanita. Aunt Maude and I rushed to hospital at 7:15 AM after call from hospital. Uncle Ray died at 1:20 PM. We got home about 2:30. Went to Theresa at 4:30. I stayed all night at Aunt Maude’s.

Uncle Ray’s remains brought to house at noon. Marg, Eleanor, Juanita, Lawrence’s, Pauline’s, and Art’s, there in evening. Slept at home tonight. Snowing.

I went up to Philadelphia about 12:30. Lots of mourners. Snow flurries. Beatrice Braynard, Nelda, George and Kim came over from Canada in evening. June called. They are coming. I called Jim. He has been in bed with cold.

Uncle Ray’s funeral. Large funeral. Nice day but cold weather wise. Gilson, Loren, Vera and Mrs. Coons came from Canada. Mom, Vern’s came home to spend night. Evelyn kept kids during funeral. Sent in some tax. $100. Social Security $147.70. Got letter from Dot. She has a trailer now.

Jeffrey Frederick’s 10, hurt last night. Wrote Uncle Berl and Edie and Floyd Wallace. Got letter from Mother T. She got her birthday flowers Saturday. We took Mom home in PM. I had headache. Debbie was over in evening. Mom and I talked with Clara Wallace. Snowed during evening.

Danny’s second birthday. Mrs. Hutchinson’s mother died today. Vern’s and Jim and Pat here for dinner. Danny got lots of gifts. Vern went to Bethany Church for lay speaker course 3-6 PM. I took June and boys to city at 6. Jim and Pat ordered wedding invitations. Snowing in evening. Lyle Murphy here to look at Pat’s car.

Midwinter vacation this week. Washed clothes. We went up to Aunt Maude’s in PM and Merrill cleaned her furnace pipes. She gave Merrill Uncle Ray’s work clothes. I cut my hair. Snowy in evening. Mrs. Hutchinson’s mother died yesterday.

4-H Demonstration Days. Lafargeville school. 9:30 AM. None of our club took part this year. I don’t feel too peppy yet. We went after groceries in PM. Tired when I got home. Debby over awhile. Saw first crow in door yard.

Beautiful day. Liability insurance man was here, Mr. John Beck. We took out policy. Called 4-H kids about meeting tomorrow. Gen. Eisenhower has pneumonia. Pres. Nixon in Paris. He is on 6 day tour of Europe. Sent cards to Mr. and Mrs. Alton, 45 years married. Also card to Fran. Jim was here for supper.
