4-H here today. 6 kids, 1 guest, David Reynolds. Very stormy. All roads near city closed. Lots of accidents. Stormy all over Syracuse, Buffalo. No mail.

Danny’s first birthday. All roads open for traffic this morning. Nice day but cold. George Graham plowed our driveways. Merrill and I went to Seaway for groceries in PM. Got dress pattern. Beautiful day.

-5° at 7:30 am. Beautiful day. Uncle Ray called to say Wilda Kate Loche died last night. Her funeral is Tuesday at 2 pm. I called mom. We went to church. Jim didn’t get home today.

Beautiful day. Howard and Merrill got rest of straw from Bechards. Frank brought part of load. Aunt Maude called to say Mae Strader had another coronary and is back in hospital. I made cake and pies. Cut out dress. Sharon here to sew on her dress in evening.

Wilda’s funeral. No one from here went over. Snow flurries during day and evening. Jim was home in pm. I worked at dress. I went up to Marguerites in evening with Dist. property.(?) Merrill went over to Mills to order nova plywood for floor.

4-H Leaders meeting at Pamela, 8 PM Donna couldn’t go as she was sick. I went with Dawn K, Lois and Sinn. I got letter from June. They plan to come Friday night. Wrote Uncle Berl and sent birthday card. Merrill started kitchen floor. Got 2 sheets nova ply down.

I’ve been sick all day with terrible headache. Merrill cleaned house. Vern’s got here at 7:15. First since Christmas. Jim came home in evening about 9 PM. He has been sick with ear infection. Just went to work Thursday and Friday. Works days. He’s been sick a week.

I painted kitchen cupboards etc. I went to Past Grands at Zelda McKeever’s. Jim was home when I got here at 11 PM. He picked Kelly Hardy’s husband up for shop lifting tools. Jim’s ear is okay. He got 4 new tires at Sears to put on his car

Merrill’s 59th birthday. I gave him jack knife and shirt. We went to city. Jim got us car battery at Sears, $24.29. Got pair of slacks. Wrote Vern’s. Jim worked at Fays. Talked with Aunt Maude. Mae Strader is home but can’t talk too well. Merrill finished floor.

I went to city in morning for 5 floor tile. Car wouldn’t start at Garn’s. Elmer Gleason started it for me. Merrill took it to Gouverneur in PM. Washed and baked. Snowing hard in PM. Everything white again.

Ground covered with snow. We went out to Mom’s for dinner. Haven’t been out since Jan 1 4. Vern, June and boys here when we got home. Had been here about half hour. Roads slippery some in AM. Jim came home in evening for night.

Eleanor’s 40th birthday. We went up to Everett Valentines sugar bush in PM. June never had been before. We couldn’t get syrup as he had just started making good syrup. Steve and I went to bank.

Jim bought Honda cycle at Trotters, $400. Mowers and Meeks anniversary, 32, and 4 years. 4-H here at 7:00 PM. All here but Hall boys. I worked at Lodge reports. Merrill made lawn roller (Cement) very warm. Frogs hollering for first tonight.

Jim and Jim D here this morning. Had top down on car. Jim bought a cycle. Took his driver’s test for it at 2:30 pm. I went to city. Got new girdle. Got insulated blanket for Len and Betty. I called NG of Lodges about raffle tickets. Colder and windy in evening.

Open House for Len and Betty Haggerty. 35 years. Uncle Ray and Aunt Maude went with us. House was full. Nice time. Merrill and I went to church. Merrill was usher. We had ham dinner at diner. Noble Grand of Evans Mills left ticket money while we were gone.

David’s 14th birthday. Wrote Beulah and Les. Les is in the hospital with cancer. I went to Leona Shaws for tickets. Took them to Philadelphia to mail. Jim and Jim D here for supper. Rode their cycles out. I went to WSCS. Doris Haggerty called and invited us over Sunday for dinner.

Merrill’s appointment with Dr. Robert’s. He has a curvature of the spine and arthritis. He has to do exercises and wear a surgical belt. Marilyn and Bob left picture. Heard Jim’s name of radio for first time. Investigated an accident.

Leona Hall is 70 years old today. We set tables at Grange Hall for District Meeting. Marge, Shep, Leah, Martha, Esther, and Vi. Merrill went up to help put rope on church bell. Martin Luther King shot and killed, 31 years old, in Memphis Tennessee.

District meeting. 58 present. Frances Ansted nominated DD President. had ham dinner at 6:30 in Grange Hall. Evelyn Hall had 14 teeth out. Sent in 4-H kids entry blanks for Demonstrations.

Fireman’s supper. I had to cook potatoes at church. Vi and Martha helped peel them. Donna and Sharon helped take them over to Fire Halal. Merrill got hair cut. Started cleaning yards. Jim worked at Fays. Merrill saw Jim D at Theresa.

Palm Sunday. We went to church. Baptism. Art and Doris Haggerty had their baby baptized, Steven John, 6 months old. Jim and Jim D there also in pm. Boys here for supper. Beautiful day.

Rev. Martin L. King’s funeral. 150,000 people attended. It was on TV all day. Ironed Jim’s shirts. Saw Jim on TV. Sent Lodge report to A Pres. Vivian Fitch. The birds are at the bird house for first.
