Very hot day. I went to city in am for groceries. I planted garden. Paynes and Halls here in evening to get wagon box on new wagon. Sent for dresses to Spiegel.

Star dinner. Fed 135. I helped Sina, Pat & Vi in kitchen. Wesley and Norma took tractor and wagon to city. Hot.

Dairyland parade. Our 4-H had float in it. Went to city at 7 AM. Went to City Park and stopped at Young’s Museum. I took all the kids with me. Leslie and Mother Tryon here while I was at city. Also Toby.

We went to church. Gave $10.00 toward insurance. We ate lunch out doors. Went to Marathon races at Alex Bay. Beautiful day. Esther said at church that our dresses are starting to come into the Globe store.

Sent in three films. Merrill started planting corn. I rode planter. 4 acres. Toby here in evening. His horse follows him to the barn. Donna here to sew. Got 10 foot cow water tank at Agway. $55.00

We finished planting corn. 9 1/2 acres. Roger hall here. Got off the school bus at 11 am. Mary went to Pulaski to see her mother. Bought new wagon from Tenny’s, $285. Wrote Jim and Dot.

Rained hard all day. Roger Hall here again today from school. Rebekahs went to funeral home for Ivan Cross’ mother. Wrote Vern. Merrill got float for water tank. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Cousin Will Clarke is dead.

Mary Hall got home from her mother’s tonight. Bertha is not good. They plan to move back to Philadelphia from Pulaski. Went to P&C for groceries. Called Mrs. Brown to judge 4-H.

Hot and muggy. Vern, June, and boys, Penny, and 5 kittens here all day. We kept the kittens. June, boys and I went to Evelyn’s. Men changed wagon boxes. We mowed lawns.

Martha Meeks 23 birthday. Heard today she is in State Mental Hospital for shock treatments. Martha Brown is in Mercy Hospital. Got slides back. Ordered flowers for her. Painted back window. In paper today that Philip LeClaire’s have boy, Rusty.

4-H dress judging here by Dawn Keichel and Leona Brown at 7:30. Kids all here. 4 got blue, 2 boys, Donald and Dawn. Cathy, Sharon, and Debbie got red. Toby called. He has been sick with flu.

Exchange of collars and also neighbors night. Bea Tryon DDP now. Very hot in hall. 60 present. Bethany Nuroth PDDP gave me scrap book. Gave myself Toni gentle perm. Got card from Flossie White, a congratulation card.

Beef supper at church. 6:30 pm. Small crowd but Fikes donated meat and Matt donated ice cream, so we made $150.00 for church fund. I worked in kitchen. NY man told Merrill not to draw milk until resolved.

Father’s day. Gave him work pants. Went to church. Had coffee hour for graduates. 8 present. Martha called Vi from Buffalo State Hospital. Cool.

Made white dress. I went to initiation at Antwerp Lodge. They took in Nancy Brown. Vi, Beulah, and Lula went with us. Clara Wallace said they had taken Bruce Hanson to Marcy State Hospital. Merrill cultivated corn for first this year.

Merrill, Toby, and I went to Vern’s for picnic dinner. Real nice day. Got graduation invitation from Freddie Tryon. I painted post lamp. Worked in garden. Sent Merrill’s accident insurance and my life insurance.

We went to Dick E for baler plugs. We went to Lorraine for Karen and Cindy. Karen’s first visit here. 2 years 10 months old. Stopped for groceries on way home.

Hot. Mowed front lawn. Howard used our baler and Merrill used his tractor and mower as his tractor wouldn’t work. Girls had bath in evening. All night dance at Pats. 9-3 am.

Got letter from Jim. He leaves England Thursday, July 20 at 3 pm. I had call from Rev. Jacob’s asking me to go to Aldersgate. I received call from blanch O’Brien. Meet at City Friday. Merrill raked hay. Also cemented porch crack.

Church Barbecue. I didn’t help on it as we had a lot of hay to draw. Got card from Ruth Eggleston. I went to P&C for groceries in evening. Carl Gleason, 17, drowned at church camp. Wesley and Melba’s second son.
