Hot. First day of school. Jim went out for football.

Vi Mowers, Roberta, & I, went to Gus Studell’s funeral at Clayton. Shopped at Seaway Plaza. Merrill worked at Gonyea’s. Jim went to drive in at Northside.

Cloudy & cool. Ken, Eleanor, Hollis, Tom Thompson, & Shirley Barker came to Crystal for picnic with us. Roberta went home with them.

Past Grands at Lula’s but I didn’t go. Howard’s & us decided to go to Maryland this week.

Hurricane Donna did lots of damage. Quite cold & rainy.

Called Vern. June sick. Didn’t work today. Got things ready for trip. Got brakes fixed at Gouverneur. Kenny Rudes came home with Jim.

Marty’s birthday. Howard, Evelyn, Merrill, & I left for Vernon’s at 10:30. Run out of gas. Got to Wheaton [Maryland]at 11:00 PM.

Went to Washington, D.C in PM. Ford Theater, Arlington Cemetery, & airport. June feeling little better.

Saw lots of Washington in AM. Washington Monument, White House, Capital, 3 Smithsonian buildings. Left Vernon’s at 6:30. June not feeling very good yet. Went bowling in evening.

Stayed all night at motel in Blue Ridge Mountains. $5.00. Spent 4 hours at Gettysburg.

Got home at 1:00 AM. Tired today but went in to work. Jim took Kenny Rudes home in evening.

Warmer. Mom called in evening. Linda Dufrene started riding. $2.00 a week. Jim played football at Gouverneur. Called kids. June feeling better.

Pauline, Alice, Marge, Rose, & I, took trip to mountains. Grand time. got home at 9:30. Rose & I took ride on ski lift.

Nice day. Cleaned & washed. Kenny came home from hospital. Jim went over to see Marty & Kenny. Open House at Grange Hall for Mr. & Mrs. George Hardy’s 50th wedding anniversary.

They took Marty to hospital in evening. Merrill, Jim, & I went to Wilbur’s in evening. Merrill got work shoes. Jim sweater & shirts.

Jim went out to hospital to see Marty. Aunt Keitha’s auction is in Times.

Got letter from Vern. June wrote Teddy thank you letter for S&H stamp books.

Had fight with Jennie. Merrill’s foot better. Cook stated digging LeClair’s ditch. Waxed kitchen floor.

Started digging our ditch. Got groceries in evening. Nellie isn’t going to ride anymore. Jim went to hospital to see Marty.

I went to Gouverneur. Got oil & grease job at Mercer’s. Went to football game. 16-13 in favor of Clayton. Kenny Rudes spent night. Boys went to show. Marty came home from hospital.

Washed & cleaned. Beautiful day. Jim took Kenny home. They went over to see Marty. Wrote kids.

Raining. Jim had scrimmage game.

Josephine rode for last day. Got stuff ready for Rebekah’s tomorrow night. Washed my hair.

Installation at Rebekah’s. I had charge of dining room. About 85 present.
