Beautiful day. Had our first picnic out doors this year. Merrill & Vernon painted porch. Washed & ironed.

Rained all last night & all day. Merrill & Vern went to city. Vern got suit & shoes. Got clothes caddy.

No rain today. Men worked at Schell’s. They painted porch floor green. Mowed lawns. Ironed.

Cloudy today. Vern & Merrill painted porch floor. Men worked at Schell’s.

Got another quart of green paint for porch. Porch looks very nice. Got cloth for dress. Called Mom.

Cleaned curtains & windows. Jim & Marty went to dance at Theresa. Vern went to Oswego. Merrill & Jim planted garden.

Jim & Marty & girls went on picnic to Crystal. Talked with Josephine Cornivale.

Anthony Carnivale drowned 10 years ago today. Kind of cold.

Quite cold. Howard, Evelyn, & kids, were here in evening. Vern went to city looking for work. W.S.C.S., but I didn’t go.

Vern went to city about work. He started ceiling for Mrs. Dwyer. took out accident policy at shop. I went to lodge.

Got white pocketbook. $2.99. Vern finished at Dwyer’s.

Nice day today. Shopped at Seaway Plaza on way home. Vern went to city.

Joan Walts wedding. June, & 3 girls came for dinner on way to Jan Scott’s wedding at Gouverneur. Vern took June to Rochester. Jim & Marty went to dance at Theresa.

Merrill, Jim, Marty, Debbie, & I, went to church. Children’s day. Boys went swimming in PM. Vern & June went to Donna Myers baptism. Glen Wallace’s were here in evening.

Vern went to city. Jim took raft to Hyde Lake for Wilson’s. Washed my hair.

20 Past Grands went to dinner at River Valley Inn. $2.00, Mannsville. Very nice. Rained terrible. Vern went to Theresa about job.

Raining about all day. Hank Schell rode to work with us. Merrill & Jim went looking for mower. Vern set up play set for Hall kids.

Called Mom. Nice day. Washed. Jim got out of school for summer.

Mom’s birthday. 68 years old. Raining hard most of day. Vern came home at noon with headache. Helen K. called.

Cool. Jim & Marty took clothes to laundromat. Jim got swim suit. They went to dance at Theresa. Cleaned, baked cakes, & cookies.

Father’s day. Dad Hanson, & Dad Tryon, both gone this year. Vern, Merrill, & I went out home. Mom came home with us.

Jim has history regents. Vern took Mom home. Washed my hair.

Got groceries in evening. Merrill & Jim planted corn. Late because of so much rain. Got letter from Uncle Berle.

Waited for Vern in Mills until 7:30. Jim drove our car on picnic. I took Vern’s to work. Last lodge meeting but I didn’t go as I didn’t get home in time.

Saw Carl Scee, Evelyn not good. Mom called to say Oren Barker is in hospital.

Merrill went to auction with Howard. Gave blood for 11th time at Red Cross clinic. Jim had 4-H meeting here. Last one this summer. June came for weekend on bus.

Merrill, Jim, June, & I, went to city, Burrville etc. Went to hospital to see Oren Barker. Merrill got mower at Farrell’s. Vern & June went to drive in. Made June birthday cake. Jim & Marty went to Theresa.

June’s birthday. We had a surprise picnic in yard. Vern took June to 5:10 bus. Jim & Marty went swimming.

Vern went to first day of World Book training school at Woodruff. They brought mower from Farrell’s. $150.00,

Very warm. Beautiful day. Vern went to 2nd day of training class. Sent $2.00 each to twins. Merrill mowed first hay this year.

Raining & cooler. Vern went out selling in evening.

Vern sold set of books. Cooler. I went to Dr. Roberts after work to have blood spot taken off my back. Nellie & Bessie came home with Vernon. Jim got marks. Didn’t pass.

Got groceries in evening. Vern took last day of class.

I feel punk today. Slept all forenoon. Took car to Gouverneur to get oil changed & lights fixed. Vern sold 2nd set of books.

Hank Schell’s barn burned about 2:00 PM. We went out home for dinner. Got 32 quarts of berries. Vern went to Rochester.

Quite cool. Washed & ironed all day. Vern called from Rochester to say he’d be home tomorrow.

Still cold. Had furnace fire in evening. Rose D. & Charles Miller stated riding for 2 weeks. Vern got home from Rochester.

Still cold. Boys went to city in AM.

Cool. Men drawed hay. Vern was over to Clara & Glen Wallace’s.

Rained again. Carolyn Seeley started riding again. She works at model homes. Vern went to city in evening.

Waxed kitchen floor. Washed. Men baled & drawed hay.

Grand day. We all went to 4-H picnic at Camp Wabasso. 40 present.

Three men were killed in blast in mine at Gouverneur this PM. Wrote Uncle Berle. Sent pictures.

School board meeting. We didn’t go. Jim & Marty went to Theresa in evening.

Very warm. Fran & I walked to Globe at noon looking for bathing suits.

Vern is working at Farrell’s for rest of week.

Lillian Hale Champine is sick with pneumonia & kidney infection. Got groceries at Seaway.

Swell day. Linda Taturra was here all day. Merrill mowed hay all day. Jim took her to city in evening. Had parachute jumps on camp. 82nd airborne from Fort Bragg.

Rainy. We went for ride to Bay & Morristown. Mom called. Vern called June. Jim went to Theresa in evening.

Mrs. Ann (Cassier) Alton died yesterday. Rained in evening. Washed & ironed.
