Jim’s 17th birthday. He went to city with Howard & Evelyn and got senior driving license.

I went to Gouverneur. Bennett’s were here in PM. Jim went to drive in. Cool all day. Judy Baker married today.

Rained during night & some today. We went out home for dinner. Ken’s were there also. Juanita & kids are at Ogdensburg.

Vi Mowers, Roberta, & I, went to Gus Studell’s funeral at Clayton. Shopped at Seaway Plaza. Merrill worked at Gonyea’s. Jim went to drive in at Northside.

Cloudy & cool. Ken, Eleanor, Hollis, Tom Thompson, & Shirley Barker came to Crystal for picnic with us. Roberta went home with them.

Called Vern. June sick. Didn’t work today. Got things ready for trip. Got brakes fixed at Gouverneur. Kenny Rudes came home with Jim.

Marty’s birthday. Howard, Evelyn, Merrill, & I left for Vernon’s at 10:30. Run out of gas. Got to Wheaton [Maryland]at 11:00 PM.

Went to Washington, D.C in PM. Ford Theater, Arlington Cemetery, & airport. June feeling little better.

Saw lots of Washington in AM. Washington Monument, White House, Capital, 3 Smithsonian buildings. Left Vernon’s at 6:30. June not feeling very good yet. Went bowling in evening.

Stayed all night at motel in Blue Ridge Mountains. $5.00. Spent 4 hours at Gettysburg.

Got home at 1:00 AM. Tired today but went in to work. Jim took Kenny Rudes home in evening.

Cloudy. Football game with Adams Center. Kenny & Marty hurt in game. Kenny in hospital. No school, teacher’s conferences. Jim went to 4-H at Kiechle’s.

Pauline, Alice, Marge, Rose, & I, took trip to mountains. Grand time. got home at 9:30. Rose & I took ride on ski lift.

Nice day. Cleaned & washed. Kenny came home from hospital. Jim went over to see Marty & Kenny. Open House at Grange Hall for Mr. & Mrs. George Hardy’s 50th wedding anniversary.
