Vacation week this week. Merrill & I went to city shopping. Got our clothes for wedding.

Got permanent at Harriet’s. $10.00. Took Merrill to Gouverneur for truck. $52.00. Had brakes fixed.

I went to Gouverneur. Had work done on car. New plugs & points. Merrill combined at Landon’s.

Rose LeClair, Alice Covey, Mary O’Brien, Pauline Johnson, & I, went to Howe Caverns, Albany, Amsterdam. Went 450 miles. Wonderful time. Tack Livingston died.

Quite cool. Marty here. Boys sleeping out in evening. Washed.

Washed, Cleaned kitchen & bathroom floors. Merrill finished at Landon’s & Hughes.

Hot. Went out home. Ken’s there also. Vern sold Don’s world Books. Called Marie Barker. Very warm. We ate out doors.

Rained all night. Cooler. Washed my hair. Lena Klock & Dr. Pehallow died yesterday.

Cloudy & cool. Jim spent the night at Marty’s.

Vern rode to work with me. Brake line broke on his car.

Rebekah’s ice cream social. I helped. Ozark Mountain Boys played.

Ken & Eleanor have baby boy. Hollis Arthur, born at 4:00 PM, 8 pounds, 2 ounces. I didn’t work. Mom, Vern, & I, went to Rochester. Stayed all night at Cadillac Hotel.

We went to Keith & Barbara Hogaboom’s wedding & reception. Very nice. Got home at 11:00 PM.

Vern, Merrill, & I, went to Gouverneur to see about a U-Haul trailer. Jim went swimming.

Went to hospital to see Eleanor & baby. Merrill & I went to hospital in evening to see them. Rained.

Got steam iron for Vern & June. Hot. Merrill combined at Art Hagagerty’s

Vern’s last day at Farrell’s. Mom, Leah Stanley, Olive, Elgin Bowman, Wilhemina, & Elgin Black were here in evening. Mom, Leah, & Elgin stayed all night. Rest at Uncle Ray’s.

Mom was here all night. Canada folks went home today. Merrill combined at Kettles. Mom spent day at Uncle Ray’s.

I’ve had headache all day. Got Vern pendant for June at Rays. Got his shirts. Got groceries. Also silverware for Jim’s wedding gift. Mom went home on bus.

Vern & June got $15.00 check from Barkers. Rainy. Vern & Jim went to Gouverneur & city for U-Haul trailer. Washed, cleaned, & got boys stuff ready to leave tomorrow.

Vern & Jim left today at 9:30 AM for Rochester. Took stuff in U-Haul trailer (5X8)

June, Vern, & Jim got to Maryland with furniture etc. Raining.

Cool. Mildred Walts was here with Avon stuff.

Merrill got hair cut. Vi & Leah brought down wedding gifts.

Got letter from Jim from Maryland.

Got my hair done at Harriet’s after work. Called Mom.

June & Vern’s wedding. Was so beautiful. Mom & Angie went with us. Juanita & Brenda came home with us. Delos Gleason milked for us. Jim came home.

Jim went swimming to Crystal. Merrill & I went for ride. Went to High Falls at Copenhagen. Kids got to Maryland at 7:00 PM.

Vern & June called. Have telephone. Lockwood 5-0758. Got lawn mower fixed. $9.00. Very hot. Got letter from Dorothy.

Wrote Vern & June & Uncle Berle. Merrill combined at Hales. Jim went swimming with kids. (Marty, Ronnie, Joan)

Still hot and dry. Grass fires at Antwerp & Philadelphia.
