Got card from eye bank to carry at all times. Got letter & card from Uncle Berle. Mary O’B & I walked downtown at noon. Jim played city in basketball game.

I took Marty, Ronnie Cook, Jack Hewitt, & Jim bowling for first time. Went to see Fran.

Grand day. Got package ready to send to Uncle Berle.

Sent Uncle Berle’s package. Very icy & stormy going to work .

Got letter from Vern. I went to Past Grand party at Eva D. 19 present. Zelda was my Secret Pal. Got jewelry. Bought bedroom suit at Kamargo’s. $220.00. Mr. Peeler, Betty’s father, died today.

Merrill got automatic draft on furnace. Fran & I went to Seaway Plaza at noon. Rebekah’s Xmas party. I didn’t go. Got letter from Mom.

Betty Haggerty’s father’s funeral. Jim had booster polio shot. Got letter from Vernon.

Kamargo’s brought bedroom suit. Jim played ball with Oswego at Philadelphia. Merrill & I went to city shopping. Snowed in evening.

Stormy. Sleeting. Merrill & Jim got hair cut at Theresa. I did Christmas shopping at Theresa. Got bedroom furniture changed.

Terrible sleet storm at Gouverneur. Merrill & I went out home. Orv’s & Ralph’s were there. Jim, Marty, & Ronnie Cook went bowling.

Cold but nice. Got lace tablecloth for Lyle. $4.79. Washed my hair. Washed clothes. Jim made chocolate cake. Got package from Uncle Berle.

Merrill & I went to surprise party for Vi. Nice time. Jim played ball at Clayton. Got several Christmas cards. Mosher’s brought 4 ton of coal.

Got 8 storm windows from Mosher’s. Warmer today. Started addressing cards.

Merrill put in some of the new storm windows. Did some Christmas shopping at noon. Sent very first Xmas card to June.

Sent first Christmas cards. Nice day but snowing in late PM. Jim went to basketball game at Lowville. JV’s won. Cleaned. Did kitchen curtains. Stopped at Seaway Plaza.

Vernon got home at 2:45 AM. Left Maryland at 2:00 PM. Merrill & I went to Lyle & Dolores Hanson’s wedding reception. Boys got tree & put it up. Went to basketball game at Philadelphia. Jim played.

Grand day but cold. 10°. Lazy day. Wrapped presents.

Quite cold. Vern’s car wouldn’t start. Made vegetable soup. Fran & I walked downtown & shopped.

Still cold. Jim got out of school today. Sent rest of cards. Washed my hair.

Finished shopping at last. Men went to city shopping. I didn’t go to lodge.

Got out of work at 11:00 with pay Some of us went to M&J for pizza. Boys cleaned house. Had our tree in evening. All got nice gifts. Jim got shot gun.

Not much snow. We went out home for diner & tree. Nice time & nice day but cloudy.

Washed spreads. Marty came over to spend night. Jim & Marty went to dance at Theresa. Merrill put on rest of storm windows.

Vernon left for Rochester at 8:00. Lew Forton rode down with him. Mother Tryon, Leslie, & Grace, were here for dinner. I fell on porch & hurt my back

Snowy & slippery. I didn’t go to work as I’m pretty sore. Ironed. Took out tree.

I didn’t go to work. Merrill mopped kitchen floor. I waxed it. Did big wash & ironing.

June & Vern got here about 9:00 PM. Very slippery. Baked pies & cake.

Beautiful day. Everything frosty. Merrill, Jim, & I, went to city. June & Vern went out with Howard & Evelyn. Jim went to dance at Theresa. Foggy in evening.
