Merrill planted first corn. Fran & I walked to Green Stamp store. I got gift for Mary Hall.

Very warm. Fran & I went to Wilbur’s at noon. Merrill finished planting corn. Vern helped him. Vern went to city.

Merrill & Vern cleaned out cistern & cellar. I took Jim & Marty swimming. Thunder storms.

Took Marty home. Jim stayed over night with Marty. We planted garden. Vern cleaned his car all day.

Vernon went to Antwerp. Merrill got stuff for porch.

Mary Hall’s shower. Nice time. she got a lot of nice gifts. Men started work on porch.

Mom’s 67th birthday. Merrill made hay rack for Landon.

Danny Hagan married today. I went to Gouverneur for oil & grease job. Rained in evening. Washed & cleaned.

We all painted on porch. Nice day. finished ironing. Howard & Lynn were here.

Mary Hall went to hospital about 11:00 PM. Raining. Merrill finished cultivating corn.

Fran & I went down town at noon. I got blouse, bra’s & half slip. Warmer.

June’s 21st birthday. I’m having next week off from shop. No vacation this year at shop. Jim went over to Marty. Joined Mary’s club.

Hot & muggy. Merrill & I dressed 6 roosters for freezer. Jim & Marty went to city. Jim & I went to 4-H at Acheson’s.

Beautiful day. VFW Day at Crystal Lake but we didn’t go.

Merrill started to mow first hay. Field across road. Broke mower. Uncle Berle called from Lasher’s.

I went to Lasher’s for Uncle Berle. He & I went over to Walts. Mowed first hay.
