Merrill started working on Welser’s house at the Mills. Rainy & windy. Called Aunt Esther. Called Vernon. Grandpa’s funeral Wednesday.

Grandpa Haggerty’s funeral at Adams. Beautiful day for it. Aunt Belle, Beatrice, George, Mae S., & Arnold, came from Canada. Uncle Ray & Aunt Maude went with us. I took car to Gouverneur for oil change & wash.

Snowed very hard here. Not much at city. Harold Northrup was killed by his tractor tipping on him last night.

Jim & I went to basketball game at Philadelphia. Played Theresa.

Jim went over to Marty’s. They all went out to supper & show. I went to Theresa.

Frances S. birthday. 33 years. We went out home for dinner. Cloudy. IOOF & Rebekah’s went to Bill M. Jim came home from Rudes.

Jim was sick with sore throat. Didn’t go to school. Washed my hair.

Roads slippery in morning. Nice day. Jim didn’t go to school. Is feeling better tonight. He helped Evelyn in evening.

Got letter from Vern. Jim went to school today. Glen Wallace had heart attack yesterday morning. Called Clara in evening. Muffler came for truck.

Sent Uncle Berle birthday card & letter.

Quite cold but nice. Small water pump isn’t working. No water.

Dorothy Charlton’s birthday. We went to city & got new pressure pump. $79.95. Marty rode out with us. I went to Theresa in evening.

Jim went roller skating at Philadelphia. Merrill got new pressure water tank hooked up. Merrill fixed door for Lula R.

Uncle Berle’s birthday. Nice today. Baked cake in evening.

I went to Rebekah’s. Jim stayed all night with Carl Brown.

Washed my hair. Wrote several letters. Got one from Eleanor wanting us to come down on Sunday.

We went to Ken’s for dinner to celebrate all the birthdays. Dad, Mom, & Don’s there also. Nice time.

Colder. Doris Haggerty called in evening. Merrill had flat tire on truck.

Charmaine Hutton’s shower but was so stormy I didn’t go. Called Doris H. Past Grands at Vi’s. Very stormy all over.

Merrill’s birthday. Had party for him. Bill, Vi, Lynn, Mary, Carroll, Lois, & 3 girls. Marty Rudes was here for weekend.

I was sick all day. Everett Strader called. Was going through Philadelphia. Been to Uncle Len’s & Little Joe’s. Marty & Jim went roller skating.

Grand day. Merrill worked at Hank Schell’s. I feel better today.

Eleanor’s birthday. Edna & I ate lunch at New Town House restaurant.

Mrs. Frank Arnold died today. I went to lodge. Mary went with me. Juanita’s birthday. Wrote Vernon. Got letter from him.

Colder. I gave blood at Red Cross Bank today. Hank Schell rode to city. Merrill had flat tire on truck going for fence posts to Mills.

Bill & Vi’s anniversary. Took Jim to “School Hop” at Theresa. I went over to Evelyn’s in evening.

Took car to Gouverneur for oil & grease job. Had tires changed. Got blue dress. Jim shirt & pants. Merrill & I went to city. Got new truck tire.

I had to do my work today. Beautiful day. Washed, cleaned, & baked. We put down linoleum in bathroom. Jim went roller skating.

Colder today. Ironed in evening.

Grand day. Rose LeClair came home with me. Jim got out for Easter vacation.

Leslie called. They are coming a week from Sunday. Jim went over to Marty’s today to spend night.

Frogs are hollering tonight for first. Got letter from Mom.

Vernon got into city at 10:00 PM. We went out after him.

Beautiful day. Very warm. Merrill & boys went to Gouverneur to look for car for Vern. Waxed kitchen floor.

Easter Sunday. Ken, Eleanor, & Roberta were here for Easter dinner. Rained all day.

Vernon got 1956 4-door hardtop sedan Chevrolet. Very nice black & yellow.

Vernon & Jim went to city for Vernon’s car license. Took dealer plates to Gouverneur.

Got income tax back $202.37. Cold. Jim & Marty went to movie at city. Vernon went back to Oswego. I went to lodge.

Dad’s birthday. Nice day. Jim & I went to Theresa & Antwerp. Jim got hair cut. Jim came home from Marty’s.
