Very hot day. Vernon & June came in evening. I went down town shopping at noon. Got Jim croquet set. $11.50.

I got up with migraine headache. Howard, Evelyn, & boys were here for picnic dinner. Lynn & family, & Howard & family were here in evening for fireworks. Kind of cool.

TV picture went up. Cooler today. Vern got new brake linings put on at Theresa. Washed & ironed. Feel much better today. Vern & June went to Gouverneur in evening.

We all went to church. June’s first time to church with us. Communion Sunday. Vern & June left about 5:00 PM.

Uncle Earle Hanson died today. Merrill mowed first hay this year. Mom & Marg called me at noon to say Uncle Earle died during night. Gastric hemorrhage.

Merrill & I went out to funeral home in evening. Gilson, Mae, & Aunt Belle, were over in PM to funeral home. Mary Beck cut my hair in evening.

Rained during the night. We went to funeral home & out to Aunt Keitha’s. Dad was sick & had to have doctor

Uncle Earle’s funeral. Huge funeral. About 30 to 40 cars in procession. Rained in morning but cleared for burial service. Vernon came to funeral home from school. Jim went to Philadelphia in evening. Lost his wrist watch.

Beautiful day. Ate lunch out doors. Aunt Maude & Uncle Ray were here in evening.

Something wrong with Howard’s baler so couldn’t bale our hay. Very muggy. Rained during night.

Lynn broke Howard’s baler. We went out home in evening. Rained hard out there. Helped hull berries. Juanita has 60 quarts all froze for me.

Cooler today. Merrill went to Clayton for part for Howard’s baler. Merrill got work shoes at Mosher’s. $10.00.

Raining in evening. They got baler fixed. Baled hay here for first. Didn’t get it all in before it rained.

Merrill worked at Thompson’s. Rained during night so he couldn’t hay it. Jim & Marty went to city on bus. I went after them. We went to Black River to drive in. Got home at 2:00 AM.

Don’s birthday. Hot. I took car to Gouverneur for service job. Got Jim shirt. Merrill Bermuda’s. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur in PM with tractor generator. Marty was here for lunch.

Very hot. June, Vernon, Alice,[Hyrcza] & Dave [Smith] were here for picnic lunch. They went to Islands. Gave myself quick perm.

Rained awfully hard in PM. Everything soaked. Lee was here & fixed freezer. Isn’t right yet but is freezing. Fred LeClair’s have baby boy.

Got lawn mower from Sears. $15.65. Didn’t work when I got home. Jim went with Howard’s picking cherries. Got 20 pounds. Rained in evening.

Lee finally fixed freezer. Mike O’Brien, age 58, died of heart attack. Irene Foley, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Leakey, Vi, & I went huckleberrying. Merrill & Millard Thompson went to city with lawn mower.
