We had turkey for New Year’s dinner. Just the four of us. Jim came home from Marty’s. Stormy day. Snowing in evening.

Worked today. we went down town at noon. Roads slippery in morning.

Edna & I went to Sears at noon. Vern visited Philadelphia school.

Got letter from Mom & Dot Talcott (first one). Jim & Merrill went to Gouverneur & Theresa. Merrill took my watch back. Didn’t run right. Merrill got new hat. $5.98. Got new broom.

We took Vernon back to Oswego. Very stormy down that way. Stopped at Ken’s on way home. Roads slippery south of Manor.

Ken’s birthday. Nice day. Merrill went to IOOF installation. He was installed RS to Nobel Grand. Jim Hanlon Noble Grand.

Cold. Jim & I took down Christmas decorations. Wrote letter to Mom.

Howard & Mary Scee have baby girl. Terri Eileen. Very cold. Mrs. Leach isn’t very good. Edna & I went to Loblaws at noon. I didn’t go to lodge.

Took Mrs. Leach to Antwerp nursing home. Buster Barker’s birthday.

Nice day. I went to Gouverneur after work for my watch. Oil was dry in it. Merrill went to Mills. Sent for car & truck license.

Buster & Marie Barker have baby girl. Janet Michelle. Lynn, Mary, & girls, were here in evening to play cards. Merrill & I went to Theresa. Got Merrill orlon sweater. Abby & Bob Moyer have baby boy. Rusty Leroy. Aunt Maude called.

Nice but cold. Merrill, Jim, & I, went for drive. Stopped at Garmon’s & Uncle Earle’s but no one home. Stopped at Philadelphia Diner.

Jim & I went to game at Theresa. They played Mills. Merrill went to lodge. Swell day. Sent letter to Vern.

Raining & freezing some in evening. Baked cake. Got car & truck license.

Ed Drake died today. 80 years old. Dot S. paid me. Sent cars to Doreen & Abby & Bob.

Past Noble Grands at Helen Dickson. I didn’t go. Roads kind of slippery. Snowy.

Dorothy Pitkin Riley died after operation. Got letter from Mom. 4-H at Kiechle’s. Meeting called off because Jean is sick. Jim was sick all night & today. Cold. Merrill went to Theresa.

Doreen’s 1st birthday. Very cold last night. Jim is feeling better.

Vernon called in evening. He has a chance to teach at Oswego. Jim & I went over to Evelyn’s in evening.

Snowing. Wet day. Made vegetable soup in evening.

Very slippery. Freezing rain in morning. Went to Loblaws at noon. Didn’t go to lodge.

I went to Dr. Roberts at noon. Sent me to hospital for lab tests. May have to have gland operation. Merrill paid taxes. Got Teddy’s dog license

Main road bare again. Vi & Martha rode home. Rose Dindle called. Merrill had work done on tractor.

Marty came over to stay with Jim. We started out home but was freezing rain so we came home. Truck got in ditch by Howard’s.

My throat very sore today. Wrote Mom & Vern. Jim went roller skating at Philadelphia with Marty. Still very icy.

I worked today. Went to Dr. Roberts in PM. Told me I had mumps. Feel horrid. Merrill went to lodge. Got colored Christmas pictures. Very good.

Feel punk. Face aches. Merrill called Vernon. Wrote Mom. Been in bed most of day. Snowing.

Snowing. My face is still swollen a lot but I feel better. Kind of weak. Passed the stone in my gland this morning. Talked with Aunt Maude.

Got cards from Sally, Lois & Carroll. Snowy. Merrill went to Theresa for hair cut. Talked with Dr. Robert’s nurse. I feel much better today. Been up all day.

Wrote Vernon & Mom. Sent Edna birthday card. Cleaned house today. Got letter from Mom. They are still sick out there.

Got hanky & card for Grange. Mary O’Brien’s birthday. Very foggy in morning. We went to city. Marty Rudes went with us. Jim stayed overnight at Marty’s. Merrill & I went up to Uncle Ray’s in evening.

Jim got home from Marty’s. He went roller skating to Philadelphia. Washed & ironed. Sun shining part of day.

Edna Knapp’s birthday. I went back to work. Edna & I had lunch at E&B Restaurant.

Cold & kind of windy. Feel tired tonight.

Swell day but kind of cold. Terrible snow storms at Syracuse & Buffalo. Merrill, Jim, & I, went to March of Dimes game at Theresa. Jim played.

Swell day. Merrill ordered oil & grease from Mr. Kane. Vern’s picture was in Times. He starts teaching at Oswego College this week.

Got letter from Vernon. I went to Dr. Roberts at noon with my stone. We went to Loblaws for groceries after work. Snowing some. Leah called.

Still snowy. Merrill & I went to Grange card party at Leah & Claude’s. Nice time. Merrill & I won high in Pedro.

Very stormy. Windy. Terrible storms Syracuse way. Merrill shoveled drive way in evening.

Got stuck at shop. Roads good this morning. Aren’t open yet some places. Got letter from Vernon.

Got stuck again today. No place to park at shop.

Jim played basketball at Redwood. March of Dimes game. Snowy at city. I have stiff neck. Moved to another machine today.

Quite cold all day. Tire went up on manure spreader. Merrill took it to Farrell’s. Got letter from Mom. They are still sick out there.

I was sick with horrid headache. Had to lay down at shop. Got letter from Mom.

Merrill & I went out home for first since Christmas. Jim & Marty went to show at Avon. Got Jim HiFi Record player at Sears. $69.95. Marty came home with us. Mrs. Leach died this morning.

Mother Tryon’s 69th birthday. Grandpa Haggerty’s 91st birthday. Merrill & I took Marty home at 4:00. Very stormy all day.

Very cold & stormy. We stopped on way home tonight to Mrs. Leach’s.

Mrs. Leach’s funeral. Still stormy.

Merrill & I went to card party at Hudson’s for heart fund. Nice time. Jim went down to Bobby E.
